i do not understand the points in this game. who is ahead when one is at 103% and other is 43%?

You get 1 point for getting a kill. You lose 1 point for being killed. Percentages only make every hit send you farther off the stage than last time. So for example, at 0% a standard hit will hardly move you at all. At 300%, a standard hit will send you flying and probably instantly kill you.
