hoping to get in this alpha Thursday.. I might move my preorder to Xbox since I have more friends there than on the ps4.

That's hot.

Oh my.

Well that was fun. Tomorrow night I'll probably try and get a group together to do the strike on Legend difficulty and I'll stream it. It's damn fun.

I can't figure out how to get much closer. Maybe when I upgrade my jump jets.

The game feels really good. I played for about two and a half hours, non-stop. I leveled up a few times and got new abilities. I absolutely love the dropping fist power, especially when executed from great height, like jetting off the top of a building into a crowd of aliens. Boom!

I got into a world event with two other guys, and we were standing on top of a broken up plane, shooting dudes who kept coming in from a drop ship. And there was this perfect moment, when they clumped together, and I leapt out into the air, fired my jets to cross the distance, clutched R1 and L1 and came down like fucking thunder in the middle of them, tossing their twitching bodies into the air like garbage.

I sure hope non-ADS weapons are viable cuz fuck ADS right in the ass

Hmm... you know there are some weapons that are more viable without ADS, but I dunno how effective you would be completely ignoring it. I haven't gotten to use a lot of weapons yet though, so maybe there's something that could suit your play style.

Titan class? If so I know what I'm playing now, that sounds awesome.

How frequent are the public events?

Keep these screenshots coming. For the love of all that is Bungie, please keep them coming.

This game's visuals are James Franco So Good levels of goodness.

I find it pretty easy to not even use ADS. Sure you won't probably be as effective but I regularly just shoot from the hip. Auto Rifles are pretty good for shooting from the hip.

Can't be said enough.

Also weapons that don't penalize your accuracy when jumping, bacause that sucks too.

And remember Bungie, the game releases in September, so there's still time to include Bumper Jumper in the game.

So, not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere, but do we know if it's possible to disable those enemy health bars and damage numbers? I hated them in Borderlands and Bioshock, and I'd REALLY like to have less clutter on-screen.

Biggest question/concern is PvP with the loot everybody brings in from the campaign. How on earth is it all balanced?

When the announcer says "zone c lost" it sounds like Stewie Griffin. I can't stop laughing. That better be a placeholder.

You know what really freaks you out. You're playing and getting totally hurt and he just suddenly gets pissed off and basically tells you to get your shit together. Not in those words mind you. It's funny though and it's like oh shit I didn't expect that.

Very easily. Bungie equalizes everything making everyone equal. It works really really well too.

So my e-fame won't get me in early, huh. Seems like everyone else just asked. Lol whatever.

Kittens and I will have way more fun.

Titan class. I have no idea how often they are. One happened in the two or so hours I played. So no real way to tell how frequent. It was pretty cool, though. I was wandering around, looking for loot boxes or aliens to smoke, when this terrible rumbling tore across the sky.

The HUD lit up telling me it was a world event and I could join if if wanted. I saw this line of light where a satellite of some sort had come down from orbit, and we were supposed to protect it. So I rezzed my Sparrow and hauled ass toward the indicator. I was the first one there, so I drove my Sparrow up onto the wing of a plane to keep it safe, and by that time another guy had shown up and was standing in the circle where the satellite had fallen. A third guy showed up just before the aliens, and then we had a big firefight.

from the giantbomb playthrough it seems all the enemies just run towards you in a dumb fashion like borderlands instead of ducking and dodging halo elite style.

so picking that tank dude seems more logical so you can withstand more melee hits

Did you watch the entire vid? The initial combatants rushed him...but that wasnt every combatants attack strategy.

The game looks real nice but some areas seem pretty lifeless. Which is what they may be going for but the locales don't even looked like they were lived in. And players are way too squishy in MP. Every single wrecks players super quickly in all of the videos I've seen.

you end up fighting almost right beneath that ship in the strike mission.

They will also flank you, and it seems like the higher level guys are much less likely to run screaming into the muzzle of your gun. I fought one set of guys who just rushed you, but most use cover, and some flank.

Love hearing these impressions, and more importantly, I'm so glad that the ho-hum look and reception of this game were mostly down to the marketing and trickle of small and oftentimes-confusing info.

Question: is there wildlife in the game?

i think only damage, rate of fire, or impact might not, not sure though.

Could be. I'm not sure how exactly they handle it but you can tell the difference when playing Crucible. I bet that would be a good subject for a weekly update. Bungie should totally do that and explain it.

Oooooh, sounds awesome. Thanks.

Man, even if I don't get in Thursday, just seeing the flood of screenshots and impressions is pretty damn awesome. Also streams! Hope to see more GAFfers streamin'. If I get in Thursday, I know I'll have one running myself.

My take on Destiny and ADS is that you're going to need to use ADS for anything other than close to short range, unless the enemy is really big. I went back and forth, firing from the hip in tight corridors, or when they'd get too close, and using ADS for mid to long range shots.
