Hopefully it can become broken in dust storms or rain.

That would be weird it worked for peace walker but hope it doesnt for tpp, however i hope you can use it indoors and the enemies will float to thr top of the ceiling lol. Easy way to hide guards if there are others aroundCan anyone confirm if fulton recovery will work indoors? Did it work in Peace Walker?
That would be weird and unrealistic if it does.
WelcomeA HUGE thank you to everyone that's tried to help me getting into the franchise. I've begun with watching some stuff on YouTube and I've ordered the HD collection available on 360. The MGS universe is a lot more interesting that I thought it was, I'm almost embarrassed I never gave it a real shot until now. I guess I know what I'll be doing for the next few weeks. Thanks again.
I thought we already agreed that it would be "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain |OT| Chico, please be Quiet!"

Cool that your base can be attacked. Guessing that is a random event.
I think I'm the only one who thinks this trailer is really bad. And a lot of you think this was awesome well made video. When Kojima is trying hard to be so artistic and failing miserably, that's when you fear where the game is heading.![]()
I played GZ. If the story is shit, the game play will still be phenomenal so I don't give a fuck.I think I'm the only one who thinks this trailer is really bad. I have a feeling Venom Snake and Kaz have some sort of fallout. Maybe the traitor the whole time is Kaz. Big boss says to Kaz "your in charge of finding the traitor", pretty easy job when he himself is, so he accuses random people. Maybe big boss finds out Kaz was the traitor, thus he joins forces with skull face to take down Zero and Kaz together. Something must have happened, why would Kaz in MG2 call big boss a monster, let alone why would Kaz help big boss's clone Solid Snake Kill Big Boss, even though Kaz knows Big Boss is in charge of Zanzibar. I think something will happen between them that will not be good.
Huey supposedly may have had a hand in allowing the Mother Base siege to happen. But if Big Boss is cool with Skull Face then maybe he is cool with Huey...after his torture scene of course.
Kaz would call Big Boss a monster in MG2 because of MG1.
Everyone here seems to be pretending that Big Boss and Kaz don't go back to Foxhound. To go back to Foxhound, they have to be back on Zero's good terms.
I think Zero basically gives BB Foxhound's control as a gift for everything he lost, after PP. MSF was supposed to be an extension of Cypher. Big Boss and Kaz coming back to Zero and being put in charge of Foxhound is basically the circle closing. Only thing is, Big Boss seemingly secretly plans to lead Outer Heaven; cue MG1.
edit: I am pretty sure the torture scenes are gameplays you go through to recruit key people. You can see Huey celebrate in that same room he is tortured in. They torture some people to see if they will stay true to the organization. Huey is happy after passing the test.
Yes, I agree. This is important but a lot of fans either forget or ignore it when speculating about how this will lead into the MSX games, as if Big Boss was a known, active terrorist 11 years before the Outer Heaven Uprising all the way to Zanzibar Land and never returned to Foxhound and recruited Solid Snake. You can see how a retcon like that would cause some problems in the timeline, so hopefully Kojima remembers. I think he remembers because he's created an opening for Big Boss to have a truce with Zero, by having nother villain actually behind the destruction of Motherbase who wants them both dead.
But yeah Kaz may call him a monster in MG2, but they both join Foxhound and have a role in shaping Solid Snake. So they don't go separate ways at first, Miller is just excluded from Outer Heaven and then works against Big Boss in Zanzibar.
Hmm. That's interesting... you think they might have played with those lines as misdirection? Like they don't actually go together? Because I always took the "Kaz, I'm already a demon" line to be a response to Kaz's "Cipher sent us to hell, but we're going even deeper". As if to say that Big Boss (at the time) was the one unwilling to do any more violent acts just to get revenge.I think Kaz and Big Boss fall into madness together in PP, but Kaz will realize his error during the game and try to get BB out of it. "Kaz, I'm already a demon", implies that in a way. I think by the time the game is over, Kaz will have recovered and become a "good guy", but Big Boss will remain wounded and him being given Foxhound can be seen as both a gift, a form of therapy, a leash, and an end for Zero to finally have Big Boss as the "ultimate commander" of his troops.
if any of you want to pick up GZ but havent nows the time, if you have ps plus here are the prices

Looks like the big boss scream at the end takes place early in the game due to him having a full horn most of the other scenes have it shorter.
i was thinking at first maybe that is where he first got it, bomb goes BOOM shrapnel flies everywhere, loses his comrades, get shrapnel embedded in his head, and face is all bloody. But i remembered the hospital scene and it looked like he had it already, so confusing, unless they changed it and he gets the shrapnel when he is screaming.
maybe north america only for now?

thats right i forgot big boss and kaz rejoin zero, to get closer to him and to be on his good side and terms so they can eventually take him down

But in the context you put it, that would actually make a lot more sense... if Big Boss actually had no objections to doing all it takes to defeat Cipher. But then at some point near the end, maybe Kaz as you say realizes the error of their ways and tries to talk Big Boss out of it, and "I'm already a demon" is actually the response to that and implies he's gone too far on the path to destroying Cipher to turn back now. Which may be why he continues in Outer Heaven, even if it's revealed to him that Cipher didn't destroy Motherbase.

I believe he was first referred to as "Shalashaska" in MGS2!
MGS1 actually, if you survive the first or second round of torture he mentions it.
MGS1 actually, if you survive the first or second round of torture he mentions it.
Kaz never showed any hint of doing that, doesn't make sense. BB yes. So I think Kaz doesn't believe in all the revenge stuff at the end of PP.
Yeah it could be both ways, but it sounds like a more appropriate answer to a line like "before we become demons" than "Cipher sent us to hell, but we're going even deeper, take back everything we've lost". Who knows though. But yeah, I think Kaz changes his views at the end, that's the only way for his role in the future to make sense.
He has his robot hand, so It's after Afghanistan if that's the first part of the game, which means the horn changes over time, as it was reported a long time ago in a supposed leak that said it would grow during the game. No idea where it is, but there are tanks and palm trees.
Read the IGN preview. Man this game somehow manages to be even more fucking hype every time new info is released. Can't wait ^_^
The first big surprise of the demo was the ability for Venom Snake (evidently thats what hes called now?) to use Peace Walkers infinitely rad Fulton System to transport stunned enemies back to Mother Base and recruit them as your own personal Diamond Dog army. But humans are just the tip of this iceberg everything from crates, to vehicles, to sheep can be skyhook-ed out of the world and brought back to your Big Shell-esque base of operations.
really liking the sounds of this from the ign preview. The support marker from Peace Walker has had an upgrade, too. As well as air strikes and rations, you can now call in your team to scope out the area before you infiltrate it, allowing you to gain information on the placement of enemies beyond your immediate position.
gotyincidental animations like your horse just casually taking a crap
All this hype is making me want to bust out my MGS collection from the box in my closet (no display cabinets yet) and just admire it. Can someone make a MGS collection thread or something so I have a good excuse to take it all out and take pictures? c:
Dude, I learned a long time ago that no matter how hardcore a collector of Metal Gear, or any other series, you may think you are, there is always someone else out there who will make your collection look like amateur hour.
Observe.

I'm pretty sure this guy has just about every last piece of memorabilia you could hope to get on the series.
See all these figures?

They each retail into the hundreds, and alone would cost thousands.

Here's to you and Sins of the Father were songs that I found myself iffy about but eventually grew on me in a big way. I'm still getting the Here's to you lyrics tattooed on my arm as part of a sleeve (judge me if you want, I don't care).
Not sure if I can say that Mike Oldfield will ever hold the same sway....
