Hunter has double jump.

Hunter wins.

Yes, there is a but though... Other have not noticed I guess. Hunter obviously does not start with it, but double jump is one of the first upgrades you can unlock. The caveat is that you can get it upgraded eventually to be a TRIPLE JUMP :)

or a warp/teleport if you're a bladedancer/edgewalker.

I was pretty interested in Destiny from the get go but after some of these impressions and the Giant Bomb unfinished video I'm pretty hyped over it. Impressive stuff.

Dammit, why did I promise my buds I'd roll Titan...

I'll end up maxing out each type of character anyway so it shouldn't matter

I pre-ordered Destiny last year and everyone has been so down on it ever since.

I'm really liking the streams and info. Looks very solid and fun. Lots of customization. o.o

Played two match (actually one and a half) at E3 today and it was a big, unexpected disappointment for me.
I suffered pretty badly the lack of 60fps (Titanfall might have spoiled me a bit in this, but i'm a sucker for 60fps in shooters), didn't feel the gunplay (the sense of impact and the ADS were just not what i expected/wanted), and suffered a bit the rhythm.
Don't know, i frankly had way more fun with Splatoon, which is ironic to say at best.

how do you know its not 60fps?

Holy god damn this looks so much better then the impressions I took from the trailers. I'm so hyped, praying I get into the alpha!!

i'm always skeptical of this, most people can't tell, it's just a placebo effect they get.
Oh God. No, a lot of gamers and most people attending E3 can tell when a game is running 60fps or not.

Spare us this ridiculous argument please.

How was gunplay in comparison to the Halo series?

i've played most pc games 120 fps and still can't tell between that and solid 30 fps. I hate that people try to use the 60fps stuff to act "hardcore" and put on some meaningless fake image. But i wont get into that here, I'd actually like to do some studies on it at some point though.

Well, just confirmed that there are more factions than just the Hive and the Fallen.

What monitor are you using? I imagine if you can't tell the difference, that would be why.

Dude, you need to read more threads about this kind of stuff before you start basing things off of the fact that you can't tell. For a lot of people the difference is huge. With that said, you're not going to be able to tell the difference on Twitch or Youtube because they don't run at 60fps.

Stop.

People can absolutely tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps. Some might not be as sensitive as others, but it is most certainly noticeable.

LOL at Ninja's dance party.

I may not like the CODified shooting mechanics, but it's obvious this game is gonna be lots of fun regardless.

Watching Ji66aman's stream and it looks like corpses stay (at least for a long time).

Thank god

On another stream some guy ventured to Earth and he ran into other players killing mobs and shit. So awesome.

Man, some of Dinklage's line readings are pretty flat. I guess he hasn't done much voice work in the past so he's not exactly seasoned at it quite yet.

Few questions:

So how does loot/xp work in free roam? If ppl randomly pop in do they steal your xp/loot? Can you turn off group play/play solo?

What kind of mods/item affexes are there for gear? Like stats or effects. Plus to skills etc

Is there any depth/rpg elements besides the basic skill tree?

In the leaked alpha thread the mission forcefully ended after beating a boss, before the guy had time to look around and loot more. Is this gonna be changed or can you go anywhere in free roam and not have to worry about missing things?

wait, what did I miss...how are so many people from not within the system getting the Alpha already. Thought it wasnt even live for normal people till thursday

I think that's kinda what they were going for though, no?

I mean he's a robot AI. I don't think he has feelings or anything--ala he wouldn't have inflection in his voice. Maybe the actual game expands on the little companion dude.

This really is an amazing game. Funny how we've gone from BUNGIES New IP!! To LOOKS GENERIC to HOLY SHIT IN MY VEINS.

I always found the GAF hate to be crazy. This game had promise from the start imo. I will give it to people though, the marketing was bad.

I think they said last E3 that look will be individual based, so everyone gets their own (like Diablo 3).

I'm supposed to have gotten Alpha code from the show floor through some strange activation thing that they had, but I got nothing in my email.

I wonder if their system is busted, but I'll ask tomorrow.

I think that's the problem, they haven't really done much to alter Dinklage's voice to sound non-human, so it just sounds like he's trying to do a monotone robotic line delivery and it comes off as slightly forced.

I don't completely dislike it, really it's just the short bits of dialogue that are one or two words in length where it sticks out to me.

Watching the Giantbomb Quick Look, I saw... a game that really seems to drop the ball. Granted, it's only the alpha, so maybe it'll all change.

Enemies seem to all be bullet sponges, to varying degrees. Not only bullet sponges, but they also don't seem to react to bullet impacts. You can't stagger them or make them flinch with shooting them, from what I could tell. So you're firing full auto at this huge bullet sponge "Hive Knight" or a bullet sponge giant purple ball... and that doesn't look fun to me. It's the same problem that I had with Borderlands. There's nothing fun about playing a first person shooter if you feel like your gun is terribly weak.

There was also a point where Jeff completely ran out of ammo. Now... Jeff is not a bad FPS player. He's been playing them for a large chunk of his life, he reviews most of them for Giantbomb, so the guy knows what he's doing. And he completely ran out, and was just standing there doing nothing. And that seems insane. Again... in a traditional MMO, players don't run out of ammo. They always have some mana left for to cast a spell, or they can build up rage, or just autoattack. But you don't run out of ammo. So to see Jeff actual run out of ammo and just be left completely useless seems like a very not fun sort of game. You should never run out of ammo. Of course, I can understand why he did, because like I said in the first paragraph... these enemies are all bullet sponges. But this game is not supposed to be some sort of survival horror game, like Dead Space. There needs to be ammo all the time.

I also don't know what's going on with the companion cube's voice acting. It sounds horrible. Like, I know it's a cube and not a real person, but the flat tone just comes off as... completely disinterested and awkward. And not in a "Hal 9000" sorta way. More of a "Wow, they got a terrible actor in the voice booth" sorta way.

Graphics do look good though.

They were playing early game and the guns are said to be able to be improved through customization. I wouldn't give up on the idea that the guns could show more effect once they're improved. There's also a difference between being a bullet sponge and an enemy having shields and health bars. Being able to OHK anything would make the game pretty easy to blow through for skilled groups of 3.

You get more ammo by picking it up off of dead bodies. He ran out because he wasn't picking ammo up, instead shooting a few things here and there and then running well away when he was almost dead. His ammo problem went away completely once he started picking his shots more and being present for kills.

The Exo race looks pretty cool. Character creation is neat. Hoping for s'more options down the line maybe, but what's here is nice.
