E3 2014 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 [ it's over :( ]

I hope you can opt to use the original physics. Seems to just be NSBMU physics w/o float option in a classic skin.
Or I am just seeing things, but I know the full bounce was not in the first. It was partially in Lost Levels but not the classic megabounce we know today.

I really hope they flesh out Mario Maker more. It looks a little to limited in their floor demo right now.

You'd be surprised how devious you can get with a limited toolset. We had very rudimentary Mario level editors for our Casio calculators in school and made some hellish stuff in it.

Just got back and noticed treehouse are now doing mario maker.

Have they discussed any of the below questions yet?

What they showed of it was cool but seemed pretty spartan.

Are there ways to connect pipes to coin rooms? Can you link levels together as a challenge set, and have secret warps between them - can we perhaps create an entire 8 world, 32 level structured game? Can you make the levels longer then the ones we were shown? Can we have underground levels? Sky levels? Castle levels? Water levels? will we be able to use stuff like firebars in any context or only in specific themes? Will we be able mix and match themes?
Can we add background(castle battlements a'la 8-3, bushes, clouds) in 8bit mode? Lakitu's, Spinies, Moles, podobo's and of course Bowser?

The fact that it's out in 2015 is the most promising thing - that's a lot of time to add more features. Hopefully the above, if not already in the game, is planned.

I'm pretty psyched for this, I'd like to see SMB3/SMBW versions of this game in future too.

I never knew Mega Man Powered up had a level maker i thought it was just a remake of the first MM. My brother owns this game will ask to borrow that in the weekend love to play a bit with that. Thanks for the tip.

No problem, I remember spending hours with it due to every part of the game being included. It was fun making Mega Man stages. I think you can switch between modern and classic skins as well.

I wonder if there will be options for vertical scrolling and warp piping. W/o that everything seems a little stale (though I'm sure more creative people than me will have no problem proving me wrong with their levels).

I think the restriction is real so that the game is a distraction at best, it's more about unique ideas and troll stages for fun, not a fleshed out campaign style level.

depends on if its going to be a fullfledged game or just a eshop only game

if its retail i think it will have all features you see in normal mario games.

You're being stupid with your money they said. Don't buy a Wii U they said..

These games all look so great. Whoever came up with the idea to have these indepth demo playthroughs on stream deserves a promotion.

I simply can't get over the idea of 1 vs 1 online challenge mode for Mario Maker. I really believe THAT should be a key element. Pick your toughest level and see if you can beat another player's choice before they beat yours. The winner would be rewarded with... something... coins/ranking points. Maybe your level gets snatched, forcing you to build again from scratch! I don't know. And it would be like an old-school split-screen race because you could see your opponent progressing through your Gamepad's screen.

I think nintendo has sold me on every game they have shown. This Treehouse shit needs to end for the sake of me having enough money to pay for a home.
