Beyond Good or Evil, does it live up to it's cult status?

Great or not?

I played it in 2012 and thought it was a good charming game

It's a small game from the early 2000s, not sure what's the point of evaluating it under contemporary standards

It was a great game. The fact it bombed in sales helped make it a cult game as when you play it you realise how good it is.

The thing is (like alot of games) it was a product of its time. I wouldn't expect any 18yo to play it for the first time today and be blown away.

The vote needs. Its good, not amazing.

Its a good, great even, platformer action game from the ps2 era.

Back when ubisoft had skill and personality.

Yeah, I agree. I voted "It's okay," but "okay" undersells it. It's a good game, a fun game, and like Stuey said, it has personality. It's just not "amazing."

It's a simple game with a colorful art style. There are a variety of gameplay styles embedded within it - stealth, racing, 'combat,' taking photos, etc -- so it mixes things up. It isn't particularly challenging. I enjoyed it.

i just played it a couple months ago for the first time
absolutely amazing game. practically timeless because I was ready to look at it from a 2003 perspective. i didn't have to. it is still much more fun than most of the new games
solid 85/100
jade has become one of my favorite main characters. she's just chill like that

I liked it, I might just replay it soon-ish I kind of miss it, I think it does

I hope I'll live long enough to be able to play the sequel if it ever does come out / Ubisoft stops being lazy bastards

Loved the whole camera mechanic and cashing in your creature pics for credits and pearls. The final boss sucks a huge dick, but everything else is near flawless.

I remember when it released it was advertised as "Zelda for adults"

I miss that Ubi era. XIII came out around the same time too. Another straight up banger.

I was like "this is it?" when I played it. There's nothing special about it. Very limited battle mechanics. Sly Cooper 2 & 3 do a ton more interesting things storywise and with their gameplay.
