Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 8: Put mii in, coach

Back from Best Buy...

- They surprised us with the 3DS version before we played the Wii U version
- The Wii U version had Pro Controllers, our Nintendo lady was never given a GameCube Adapter
- Sonic has a sight arc jump in his Side B, & more knockack
- Sonic has a Silver alt (white w/ Silver's wristbands), as well as a purple shade with purple Chaos Emerald wristbands
- The Egg Robo (S&K Eggman decoy) & a Rhythm Heaven enemy are in Smash Run
- Magnus is an Assist Trophy

Any other questions?

Thoughts on 3DS version? Did it seem to be running at a good framerate? No problems?

I thought the 3DS was very smooth, just as was shown previously.
I had a little trouble charging smash attacks, but that was probably just me.

When i got a chance to play, our game had a few points of very noticeable lag. Obviously the games are still being fixed up, the batteries were really low on most of the systems, and they had been played all day, but the lag and framerate drops definitely make me want the Wii U version over the 3DS ones.

Looking towards the future.

After all this e3 business is over, if the leaker dude is real we got a bunch more newbies coming and maybe even one we don't know about considering he missed Rosalina and he isn't exactly clued in on all the information.

And smash comes out in october, how many character reveals you think we are getting before it releases?

Rhythm Heaven enemy? Can you describe it?

Fuck I think that bodes well for Chorus Kids, which is amazing.

It comes out in September! And I think we're done with newcomers. Three veterans left.

One of those sneaky spirit motherfuckers

This is an interesting tweet.

Not on the same level as actual dashdancing but it could be useful now that tripping is gone. (The video link is an example of the tech in Brawl, it was likely not very useful in Brawl because of random tripping).

Unrelated question, but anyone knows where the music in the Brawl video is from? I recognize it, but can't point it out where it's from!

Clueless Gamer on Smash, amusing XD:

Mew2King went on stage at the invitational, but security kicked him off :lol

This is probably the funniest thing I saw all day. I'm glad he got to go up though, the man's good at what he does.

But it wasn't the best part of the day haha. I posted on the other thread, but I really want to show this again. It was so great seeing fans unite for this.

I can't believe our Best Buy didn't let us play with the 3DS version though. It was there, but they just didn't let us play with it, unless they did after we left.

Unfortunately was unable to play the Wii U version cause fucking long ass lines. But was able to play the 3DS version cause the rep was a cool guy. We could only play Smash Run.

I played as Mario and was playing on Tortimer's Island. Was unable to check color costumes cause I forgot lol.

Impressions:
- everything ran smoothly and fluid
- characters felt small on Tortimer's Island when it was zoomed out and had characters on both sides of the stage; this probably won't be a problem on most stages since Tortimer's Island is a fairly large stage
- swimming is gone
- you can wall jump off of the side of the stage
- can't really comment about mechanics since it is Smash Run
- saw lots of enemies that were not shown

Biggest complaint: Circle Pad

Controls were great outside of the circle pad. It just did not feel as good or responsive as a joystick. I had difficulty doing smash attacks.

I'm thinking that we're all going to need to get used to using a circle pad and we'll be playing without much of a problem, but it may take a while.

Note: I am used to the diamond layout due to playing Smash for a while with a 360 controller on Dolphin. Played it that way because the diamond layout option on the Wii (CCPro) is terrible. I'm also used to the GCN layout as well, so there's that. Can switch between them quite easily.

Dark Pit as a boss on Palutena's Temple also might explain why it was absent from the E3 demo, alongside Pyrosphere. He might want to unveil all the bosses on his own terms.

Most of characters only have 3 additional color so I guess they are not done with colors yet.

Wire-Frame Little Mac isn't available for Demo, so I presumed that Dark Pit is alt costume with different voice actor.

Ohok.

Suppose that does explain how Rosa happens to have a pink alt with the lack of peach in both demos ;_;.
