Aww man so good, this thread is proof of why they decided not to show this. People already complaining about framerate when this is not even what will look like, it already doesn't look like that now and its still a work in progress. This just paints the picture for what to expect combat, atmosphere, and lore wise. Cannot wait for this game I will play it for a long time.
I think if FROM had a better track record with this kind of thing, people wouldn't be so worried about it.

But yea, wouldn't jump to any conclusions.

Weren't there a couple of people who kept arguing that this game is more DmC than souls? Could you kindly show yourselves now?
I can see how some people would think that, honestly. The art style seems like a mix of DMC/Souls, plus the slightly faster combat also kind of moves it over to that territory.

Actually I just noticed in this gif, when the second attack animation starts up, look at that jerky elbow movement.

Dashing instead of rolling? Uhm... i don' know how i feel about that.
But this is a super early build o no sense in discussing finer details.
You can see the character rolling in the trailer, my guess is dash/roll will depend on your weight load.

Haven't seen the HP bar to confirm that.
With the amount of blood that comes out with each hit, it's safe to say that attack missed. ;p
 
I... Have to stop coming back to these threads.. The hype is to great for me. I have been refreshing and downloading everything I can about this game since its leak a month ago. The next few months will be hard with no new info, but my goodness. My body is evidently ready!
 
I remember some people complaining about floatiness when you move in Dark Souls 2, does anyone see that in these gifs?

Running animations look very tight. Need to see a proper circle strafe to confirm, but it looks like that part is fixed. Combat attack animations were the primary complaint about being "floaty". Despite animations being very fast overall, they don't look as floaty, but it's hard to tell without seeing a little more. It was most noticable in Strength weapons, but it's not clear that Bloodborne will even have anything like that.

Camera looks like shit, especially without a lock-on. Am I missing any details about it not being implemented yet which ks why I never see anyone mentioning this in the initial posts? It's the first thing I notice during combat. All the whiffs and out of camera shit.

It looks great though, I just hope that the camera gets ironed out.
 
Whyyyyyy did they not show this at E3? Forget the graphics, we actually get some proper gameplay with this one and it looks boss even though it's more or less just another Souls game.

There is lock on, the HUD is just disabled. The camera is obviously tracking enemies in some scenes.

Because E3 is not the only event of the year?
Game come out next year, there are more info in coming months, we just have to be patient.
Marketing and PR need to keep the hype for one whole year until the game release, let them do their things.

I meant the break between now and Gamescom, thought it was longer! I wouldn't expect to get any other news between now and then though, would we? Pleasantly happy if we do.
 
Cloth animation and frame rate look iffy. Hope they both improve (yes I know it's early).

Possibly more linear than Souls games? Still prefer knights, dragons, skeletons etc but this does look pretty amazing.
 
Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

What excites me most about this is the fact that the setting is completely different from the traditional medieval/fantasy we get with a lot of rpgs and even the souls series. I bloody love this.

Oh cool. I've only seen this new (old) trailer with the guy attacking the large enemy off camera and that initial PS blog offscreen footage which looked bad but probably because whoever was playing didn't know how to lock on or control the camera.

God. Damn. It. Sony! I want to see this in 1080p already. Just released it on PSN under a "In progress version of Project Beast/Bloodborne". People will understand.

Come on! I can't be watching low-res webm all the time here. :/

Oh forgot to say: the trailer was beautiful. So atmospheric and the music is top-notch and very complimentary.

Actually, not sure if any of the footage disproves this, but perhaps when you lock-on to an enemy, your movements become dashes instead of rolls so you face them the whole time? It would function the same just be an aesthetic change, unless you could cancel into actions mid dash/sidestep which you can't do with a roll. If you unlock, back to rolling?

Actually this kind of makes sense.
