Ds4 is great for shooters.

Man I got legend devils lair down!
Gambled and got a 96 attack shotty
Woot

I think im liking the Titan a bit more than hunter. Having more armor helps too

Ugh the cock-tease that is this level block... got my first 'blue rare' item, pair of boots... but level 10 locked :(

Hunter Leg Armour, 54 Defense ... + 13 intellect + 13 strength + Allows you to carry more Scout Rifle Ammo. *sigh*

Well, seeing as I'm pretty good at Halo games, Titanfall and almost any FPS on 360/XB1, the only thing I can think causing it is the controller.

The weight of the controls is down to the developer. The games you list have twitch controls.

Example : Killzone and CoD - 2 games , same pad , one controls through treacle the other is twitchy.

If your finding the controls sluggish it's because they're slower that CoD / Titanfall , not because the pad is somehow magically making them that way

Anyone know if the stuff we gain in the alpha carries over to the beta and final?

It probably won't, so I am not playing the alpha anymore. I'm to clingy to gear.

Will give the beta some time.

I really like what I played in the alpha though.

*sigh*

The way the game is built makes me think it will be huge on microtransactions. Makes me worried.

Oh yes, I was talking with some Gaffers the other night about it.
Pay $$ for:
  • More character slots
  • More ammo packs
  • More inventory space
  • More voices
  • More skins
  • More guns
  • More armors
  • More sparrows
  • Character stat transfers so you don't have to restart each time
  • Loot chests
  • Change character appearance
  • More hairstyles or other crap for the character
  • Currency
They could potentially destroy this entire game.

If anyone's having trouble getting into the alpha servers, I had to log out my ps4 and sign back in, now its letting me play.

Thanks, this worked for me. Turning off the ps4 (completely) and turning it back on didn't fix it, but log out of PS4, log back in worked.

The shotguns have been pretty much 1 hit killing me during PvP, and I'm a titan. I would think that a titan would be the last one getting killed easily by a shotgun. My defense is in the 140''s if I remember correctly? So I'm not sure if it's my armor that's the problem, or the shotgun.

I feel the same way. I'd use the DS4 on my PC if the Bluetooth wasn't so wonky when I try to re-pair it. I still love the 360 controller and will probably get a One controller if they make it wireless on PC.

Just had to comment that I like your username, and picture.

Let's hope that doesn't happen. ESPECIALLY guns or armor being buyable, that would ruin the game for me. I wouldn't care for hairstyles, in-game currency, or skins. Those are things that don't affect the game, but just give you a better look.

I'm verry worried about this, too. It's one of the things I hate about MMORPGs.

Just a question does PvE and PvP have separate balance? If someone gets the best gear do they have an advantage over someone with crap gear? Or does it scale so everyone is the same?

Don't have a PS4 or this game.

Explore missions give me PSO feelings. Dicking around aimlessly, looting errything, and occasionally joining a shootout with some randoms who are on the field... It's all very low-key. I like it.

Can somebody explain the whole Vanguard system? Not really sure how it all works.
Do missions/bounties in the open world, get marks and stuff towards Vanguard rank. Once you have enough marks and a high enough rank, trade the marks for high level loot.

At least, that is what it seems like.

Yep - just about every last thing about it could be monetized. Really curious to see how hog wild Activision goes with this. Or if they'll do an EA and inject that crap in a few months after launch.

"Change character"
Go to the menu (start) and click R1.

People (like me) can take in 106+ damage weapons and wreck people easily. Humans are defenseless against vehicles 90% of the time. Turrets are incredibly OP unless you're right up next to them. Supers are fun and satisfying, but they get annoying. It might just be me.

On another note, the maps are "okay." I don't really like them. Not being able to use sparrows on the Earth map sucks too.

A lot of the same feeling. They should get rid of anything besides the normal Sparrow. Turrents should be gone too. The hunter takes to less damage. So easy to kill.

You should be able to adjust your ADS sensibility. Hip Fire should be more effective especially on Snipers.

Just got done running a dungeon with a great group that was talkative and knew what to do. WOW is all I can say. This game is so fun, it's fucking ridiculous. I still think he bosses take too many hits, but overall, just an fantastic experience.

So can you purchase faction weapons in the Alpha or is that not included?

Also, where can you check for the bounties you currently have activated?

EDIT: Nvm, saw that they are in Inventory.

Having played for about 10 hours as the Hunter, I disagree that it received the short end of the stick. Sure, there's no huge AoE super, and you have a lower armour value, but the agility bonus is huge. Not to mention meleeing is super fast, powerful and hella fun. I love scoring 1HKs with the throwing knife.

I have found I rather dislike the moon MP map though. Vehicles are quite powerful and will need to be addressed. Someone mentioned not being able to use the sparrow in the Earth MP map. I find it isn't a problem, as it is quite a compact map. There is a weapon balance issue too. I find in all circumstances, an auto rifle with high fire rate is best. Apart from the closest of close quartets. In which case a shotgun with do nicely.

As it is still in alpha, I am own away by the quality. I don't think I've encountered a bug at all... It has such polish to it. Even in alpha this game has more polish than BF4 ever will.

I really wouldn't care much about the bolded. (Character slots would be okay so long as they give you three minimum.)

You could theoretically purchase that, but you wouldn't be able to use it because of the cap.
There is a bounty-bot above the staircase that descends into the area with all the master guardian people. Inventory has them too.

Weirdly enough I just got a code while watching the Giant Bomb Unfinished video. (didn't ask for Alpha access, am Bungie member though)

Characters don't progress, do they?

What do you mean? There is a skill tree of sorts.
On a somewhat related note, I dislike that the skill tree does not auto upgrade for the skills that are just progressions of older ones. It feels pointless to go in and "upgrade" by just pressing a button that unlocks the next skill. I can understand if it is a skill that replaces an old one, but the progression ones seem pointless to go and press on manually.

Has Bungie done microtransactions before? Doesn't seem like their thing, but I guess they haven't had a platform like Destiny to sell stuff on.

I didn't know there will be sequels already planned for the game, with each sequel having it's own "comet" (expansion). Have they said if your character transfers over to the sequel or is each sequel self contained? Obviously they do with the expansions, but it almost makes it sound like the sequels are their own thing. Plus, I doubt sequels will be made for the PS3 and 360 after so much time, meaning you wouldn't be able to transfer your characters over if you played on those systems.

It seems there will be microtransactions but they won't be for 'pay-for-power'. I think if it's just cosmetic stuff that can be ignored then it's ok.

Thanks for the answers on the previous pages. One more -- what's the difference between Cruicible "Marks" and "Reputation". How do you earn them?
