Absolutely looooove the co-op, but despise the conpetitive mp. I mean, really? Allowing people to use their aquired gear? Seriously? Every match is so one sided due to people having insanely good weapons and gear.

If you watch one of the E3 trailers they put out, not the 7 minute one with Jason Jones, you'll hear that they do put some kind of filter on his voice. It really does make it sound somewhat decent, although I dunno if any filter can make his "oh no, it's the hive" line sound any better, especially since I've heard it already.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clRpcIHpmoY

I caught that as well and I always thought they would run the lines through a filter before putting them in the full game. These flat lines are probably just placeholders.
I'm pretty sure they had him record multiple variations of some of his lines to test the outcome with different filters and they decided that this was how they wanted him to sound.
It's not perfect but I don't mind. I think the PvP voice is much worse...

I think Titanfall has ruined PVP in other shooters for me. Every time my character double jumps but doesnt clear the ledge I get pissed off that he doesnt reach out and pull himself up. What kind of person jumps towards a ledge and doesnt grab on?

Oooh, yeah this is something I forgot to mention. This game REALLY needs a ledge grabbing mechanic. It's frustrating to come up short and have your momentum completely stalled without being able to simply pull yourself up, especially when you're trying to get the hell out of dodge against the Strike bosses.

I have the same thing! I got an announcement from PSN and when I clicked on it and it asked me to re-input my code, thats what I got in return :O

What does it mean? Do you get more areas or something? Or does it actually mean you get the full version for free when it comes out?

I just got a surprise code by Sony, I had no interest in applying for an Alpha code, but now that I have one is it worth playing???

Yes, but you need a PS4.

Am I the only one who feels drop rates of new weapons is bad? I'm almost lvl 7 and still running around with my weapons u get from those tutorials.

don't know..i got a lot of stuff. i just drop off somewhere, shoot some guys and usually after one hour i got 2 green items.

Wait, there are tutorials? How do I get those? I didn't get any tutorial when I started playing, it just dumped me in one of the areas and gave me a waypoint to follow.

I think I've been coming out of the Devil's Lair with 4-5 green items (encrypted + regular) each time. Just be sure to search around the corpses of tough enemies. The mission reward should contribute to this. There's also a dropped green item in the postbox after I complete the strike for some reason. No idea why.

haha. I started a mission that was a few levels above my own. Pretty easy to get killed.

Game doesn't fuck around with level recommendations. I'd be hesitant attempting Devil's Lair without being level 5 or higher with at least one good uncommon weapon.

This game is so good. Me and another gaf member were playing but we couldn't get into devils lair. Anyone know what's up with that?

Did you complete the Tower quests first?

Game is installed, have yet to play it due to work but will soon.

How does PvP work. Does it just start organically? Do you have to start in a specific game mode? What about coop, do I find folks randomly in game and team up or do you invite people on your friends list or something? Thanks

Do the public events work ? I just came across a big spider robot and it said "public event" but nobody came. I guess the drop-in drop-out multiplayer is not in this alpha.

Picked up a Blue rare. My heart leapt.. then I realized I couldn't equip it. (over level 8)

I haven't felt this way since PSO on Gamecube.

This game is gonna own my soul on release.

Finally got to play it, at first I was a little confused but I got the hang of it later on. There is definitely a learning curve. It is a straight up RPG told in a fps story, I love how skills(lack of a better word) require u to have the full equipment set to have 100% effectiveness a-la monster hunter. Having a blast so far.

Edit: finally a member ^_^. It only took me like 6 years

I have no idea why people are calling this an MMO

Especially articles like this VG247

The Game is just a Co-op RPG with Multiplayer.

I managed to walk from the explore end of the map to the strike mission area of the map.

I think you can potentially go from one area to the other end of the map if you want to. It's essentially an MMO world with missions set in a specific place so you dont have to walk to play the missions.

So it's not an MMO. At best it's the Phantasy Star Online of first person shooters. A co-op game with instanced hubs where you can meet other players. Nothing massively multiplayer about it.

Some of the missions in Explore are so bad the only way to accept them is to liken the game to a MMO where "go to place X press button Y" is similar to your typical mission. Also kill "X baddies to get Y of this item".

That would make it an RPG.

MMO is Massively Multiplayer Online you arent exploring with hundreds of people around you at all.

Its CO-OP at best and they should feel bad for marketing it any other way.

I just played this for about three hours. Definitely fun with decent graphics. Seems like the progression system and loot system will be pretty deep as well. The instancing is kind of weird though. I had a couple times when I would follow people and they would disappear and I would be on my own. I also had a couple of public events start with only me there to try it (pretty impossible).

So...If you slowly squeeze r2 with a revolver the hammer slowly comes back and you can hair trigger that bad boy. Love that little detail. ..

MMO is more than just a lot of players.
A massively multiplayer online game (also called MMO and MMOG) is a multiplayer video game which is capable of supporting large numbers of players simultaneously. By necessity, they are played on the Internet.[1] MMOs usually have at least one persistent world, however some games differ. These games can be found for most network-capable platforms, including the personal computer, video game console, or smartphones and other mobile devices.

It really isn't. The sub genre defines what it is. Take all the players out of WoW and what do you get? An RPG.

Isn't there such a thing as an MMORPG?
Sure is thanks for proving my point.

This is a Co-op FPS RPG plain an simple.

I'd like to completely retract my previous disinterest in this game. I'm loving this alpha. Been playing for an hour and I'm totally hooked. The frame rate seems incredibly smooth for 30fps, I know that sounds odd but it does. It looks gorgeous too. The whole universe seems really cool. This alpha will sell many people on the game I would imagine

Riding the Sparrow is the coolest thing I've been able to do in a videogame in a long ass time. Perfect handling too.

Yeah, carving through this area:

...feels great. I'd love if they had a really big, flat desert section, sort of a wasteland between 2 hubs where you'd be able to race through with the Sparrow with other players dodging attacks and stuff.

Although I have been enjoying my time with the alpha, half the time I have no idea what I'm doing. In the explore mission I randomly joined up with 2 dudes to take down hordes of fallen or whatever. I didn't have a clue as to the objective so I just kept killing shit until the big spider thing finally dropped down. By that time 1 guy had dropped out, and the other guy wasn't very good. We had no chance against it, and eventually ran out the timer I guess? And then the spider went away and more hordes of fallen started dropping? Eventually the other guy got tired of the monotony and bailed out. I don't think any of us really knew what was going on lol. Either this game needs more guidance, or I am missing something critical here...
