Yes, you can select it while you are in orbit. If you replay it on Legendary difficulty you will encounter one new monster type [exploding zombies].

Thanks, man.

This alpha was absolutelly perfect for the game.

I had no hype for the game. Didn't even sign up for the alpha... This morning Sony sent me a code, I tried it, and now I have preordered the game... Fucking ace gameplay.

I'm not feeling the competitive multiplayer. I'd have preferred they spent more time on the single/coop experience. Spawn die spawn die multi isn't that fun to me. And the shooting mechanics aren't as on point as those games which excel in the spawn die arena.

I like single player aspect. I don't feel like there is much to actual discover in the world though, in terms of story, or secret shit.

When Bungie first mentioned "the last safe city on earth", was anyone else expecting more of a.... you know, a city?

Obviously I know it's an alpha and there are places blocked off. I just hope they managed to put the actual city part in the game, which I'm assuming is "Chicago". Bungie always ends up cutting their best ideas, but I suppose this is a priority since it's the hook.

I doubt we'll get to see a very large area of 'The City' like the pictures, but there is a part that is physically blocked off with a gate of sorts, in the alpha. It's kinda hard not to see it. Behind there, it looks like there'll be more we can visit. But it could also be some segment to the campaign that is always blocked off unless on a mission or some crap.

OK, first 'welcome to next gen' moment for me right here. I wandered right over through the wall at the very east of the rocketyards. I wasn't expecting what I found - it bought back full on Fallout 3 flashbacks on steroids and I found the area with the cars Dax01 mentioned way back in the thread. Thanks to video capture I can put it up on youtube, but I don't want to spoil this area if you've not found it yet.

Nice find

This game is so damn good. It's sucked me in 100%.

Had a great moment getting gold in an event with only one sec left and a melee attack but PS4s sucky share feature didn't record it.

Ugh... man people suck at this game.

Was going for a perfect no death run on Legend, came so close.. died twice at the end of Prime because enemies spawned behind me.

:(

Is there a specific place to go on Bungie's site to leave feedback? There not being an in game option to mute the camera mic in chat feels like a big oversight, but an easy mistake to make since it's so platform specific.

Is it possible to replay the first mission?
I loved the darkness and the music in a very specific part... If you played you know the one.

Go into orbit and select the mission again.

You play the game like an E3 reveal

Haha, I don't know if that's good or bad! I'm just about getting familiar with the rhythm of firefights and then the deeper I got in that tunnel the more awestruck I was. I was absolutely convinced I was going to be ambushed at some point.

Im downloading the alpha now, is it possible to play single player or is it MP only?

There's SP in it too, when you reach your first 'objective' you kinda phase into SP for that section.

The rest of the exploration in the alpha is sort of like soloing an MMO, then there's a group dungeon and structured 6v6 MP

Anyone getting weird messages when attempting to sign in such as, "use of user-generated media is not allowed for your account"?

Nightmare.

I finally did some Crucible last night and I thought it Control was a fun mode. I could really get into this. I didn't do very well, though. I think that, like WoW PVP, this mode will play best with a little planning ahead. I think it'll play best at max level, when you have a ton of gear to choose from and your talent tree filled out. I don't like jumping in there with a couple of low level guns I don't even like that much.

I also got my Hunter to level 8, mostly through Patrol. They're a fun class. I also maxed out a Titan the night before and I think they're both fun. Titan is really all up in the mix kind of class, while the Hunter is more of a ranged damage class. Which reminds me, I think each class should start with a different secondary weapon to better show what that class is about. I don't think starting everyone off with the shotgun (which sucks) really gets the feeling of the class across. When you start off the game for the first time, the only thing you really have is your class' jump. I think starting everyone off with a different secondary that's better suited for their class would really help people see what the class is about. I know people are going to make a character, play it for about 2 minutes, and then try another and right now all they really have to tell them apart is the jump.

So... How long is PSN down for maintenance? I don't think I've ever seen this for more than five mins on Xbox Live on the 360. Sony really needs to get their shit together when it comes to infrastructure.

Is it me or is the framerate a bit iffy? When in ADS mode, aiming is really smooth. When driving the vehicles, FPS ever drops irrespective of action. Yet sometimes when you aim normally, the controls feel laggy. It's difficult to explain but hopefully Destiny iron this issue out by the time game is released. Nothing is more important than smooth, precise controls and a locked framerate.

went with fireteam into the crucible.

one of us got put into the other team. not cool :(

it was kinda funny too since we were in party chat and communicating strategy and whatnot, realized quite a bit into the match that one of us wasn't on the same side.

Had fun today playing with some Gaffers.

I must agree with someone who stated earlier that the "fight mobs / collect things / 30 min boss fight" rotation gets a little stale, and I wish there was a way to test your gun before going out into the field.

Game has tons of potential (though I'll be staying away from PVP until I grind a bit more and am less of a liability).

Played for a couple of hours now. Really enjoying the game and glad I have it on pre order. Weapons feel a little weak for me however I'm only just getting into the game so it's possibly just low level weaponry.

The Sparrow is one of the greatest things I've ever used in a video game, so much fun. Can't wait to have more areas to use it in. I can ride for hours, lol.

What are the best armor sets folks have come across in the Alpha that a level 8 can use? Interested to see the diversity. I'm finding new weapons all the time too.

the headset only option in the destiny settings doesn't fix this?

So I've put in roughly 12 hours since the alpha started, so addictive. I've done everything the game has to offer, so tomorrow I'll just stick with doing the strike again and some PVP.

I was playing on Earth, I killed some warlock as directed by the voice announcer and after an hour I felt like I was running around in circles, like a headless chicken, doing the same boring missions over and over again... in the exact same locations.

What else does the alpha offer?

'Collect the collectibles'
'Shoot the bad guy'

Worst of all, you're still shooting people outside of missions. The pacing is really bad and it really does make you tired of pressing R1 all the time.

Here is what Bungie need to do:
-Get rid of respawnable enemies when you are not in missions
- For side missions, put an indicator showing if you have completed it or if you have not played it.

You realize this is an mmo and other people are in this world and would like to fight things too?

I agree with all of this, don't know if they'll do it though. Even if they won't remove respawning enemies at least adjust the time. I'm tired of having to go through the same patches of enemies over and over, if I just go away from that area for 5 seconds. That's pretty much my main criticism of the alpha. Let us breathe in and take in the world, not being shot at every 5 seconds.

Played a bit more...still very much Halo with a new skin but the campaign/exploring/strike is great.

Crucible is just blah, especially the moon level. Will not be playing that much.

I understand that people want to grind XP and that's fine, but at the current respawn rate combat becomes very tedious after a while. I'm even more worried about zones with higher level enemies and having to try and get through them while they repeatedly respawn one encounter after another.

I hope it flops disastrously and developers learn that it’s ideas and not money and graphics that make a good game.

Then again I found GTA 5 to be a masturbatory, boring love letter to blind technical achievement/metacritic score with little artistic merit or soul, so what do I know?

The amount of hate some games get, in this situation Destiny, is unbelievable. No matter whether I think one game is going to flop I never wish for it to happen because that means mass losses of jobs.

The vitriol in some people's thoughts...

How do I actually use the third weapon that I have picked up? I have an assault rifle, shotgun and a larger machine gun I think that I can't seem to use.

I am pretty terrible in the VS mode against other players they seem to kill me a lot faster than I manage to do damage to them most of the time, still it's massively fun.

I expected nothing from this game but the setting, the music and the gameplay are all just great.

I hope you can transfer your gear to the next beta and the final released game seeing as I got some items that are as high as lvl 47

I like the drop in aspect of this game... like journey online people just pop in when your playing through objectives

If the final games has a ton of contain, more MP maps, vehicles, different enemies, and weapons I can see myself playing this for a considerable amount of time
