Anyone tiered the classes yet? Saw one person just say Warlock>Titan>Hunter, is that the general consensus? Really enjoying Warlock, dat glide, but feel like a Titan is neccessary to have in your party for raids/strikes. Does Hunter add anything to the mix for such events?

Hunter is my favorite by far, so I disagree entirely.

Double jump is the best evade in the game + knife throw.

Yea, the instant vertical height does wonders compared to a glide, which just makes you an easy target. I'd like the Warlock more if I could get access to that teleport ability. Anyone know how?

lol..yeah, there are quite a few "nope" areas in the alpha

Those high level enemies combined with the ambiguous radar, flashlight FOV and the fact that I have the audio going through my Rokits makes it all the more terrifying. Really can't wait for Raids.

PvE only.

There is no real doubt that Warlock is best class in Alpha, zero. That could change and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Titan take the top spot. As it stands I do not see how the Hunter will ever escape the last place slot unless they do some hefty re balancing.

First off lets talk about Supers-
Warlock has the best, for two reasons. It is AE and it is ranged. You can jump up and lob it at a group of enemies without exposing yourself to damage. You are immediately back in the fight, using grenades and weapons.

Titan has a solid super that will probably turn into something that is 'required' for good group play. The problem is right now it is basically just a crappier version of the Warlock super. It is AE but you have to be in melee range to use it.

Hunter has the worst super out there. Three shots from a golden gun, wow.

Jumps-
Hunter has the worst, it is simply a double jump.

Warlock and Titan are really subjective. I prefer the Warlock, having the ability to hover far outranks the lift of the Titan for me.

Class trait-
Hunter is faster, this is something that could bring it up later in the game. Right now it doesn't make up for the deficiencies.

Warlock and Titan are again kinda of subjective. The Titan has more armor and the Warlock regens faster. Personally I like the quick regen much more than the extra armor.

Hence: Warlock>Titan>>Hunter

Seems like there needs to be more loot, especially from defeated bosses. Nothing is more frustrating than getting nothing from a boss.

I thought they were going with a WoW model of boss drops in addition to being able to spend some sort of token for loot, but maybe this isn't the case. I'm hoping that just has to do with this being alpha.

I saw on the Destiny Facebook that there is gonna be a special mission tonight at 9 EST. Anyone know anything about that?

no idea but here is the post for everyone to see...

"If you are playing in the Destiny Alpha, please join us for one, final, explosive mission tonight at 6PM PST. This is the last chance for us to prepare for the Destiny Beta. We look forward to seeing you in the Tower, in the Crucible, and in the wild. One final effort is all that remains!"

How is double jump the worst? That makes zero sense, if anything it's the best. You can avoid incoming fire the easiest with it, especially since most bullets in the game are tracking and take time to get there.

In addition they have the best single target grenade in the alpha, making it easy to take down high shield opponents on legend.

Golden gun is the worst super though.

Anyone find them big doors inside that huge water pipe around those ?? enemies? My guess is it's a raid or dungeon of sorts.

You know you can disable the glide right?

What a great time for anyone who isn't located in the US...

As someone who generally dislikes pew-pew , they managed to hook me. So they've done something right. I'll definitely pick this up.

I'd disagree with this. The Warlock's slow glide is only helpful when you're evading several enemies on the ground. The titan has slightly more control over the jump, but it's still slower than the Hunter's from what I've seen. The Hunter's jump has the best vertical height, which helps for moving around quickly. There are so many jumps on Rusted Lands that the Warlock can't even hit. I also don't like how weak the Warlock's melee is. It looks cooler, but it takes more hits on some enemies that the Hunter can OHK.

I agree with Vire's grenade comment. I like that the Hunter's grenade has a bounce to it. Most of the others I've seen stick to the wall, which doesn't offer much for enemies around the corner.

Finally stumbled upon the Grotto area. Saw a dozen ?? enemies. Noped out of there hard.

I drove through that area with my speeder, all those ?? enemies being on my ass made my heart race
edit: no way I can play the special mission at that time :/

You can eventually upgrade your jump to make it a triple jump.

Totally agree. Couldn't get used to Warlock. No matter how hard I tried. The jump is just not as good as the other two classes. I couldn't even reach certain roofs with Warlock. While playing with Titan or Hunter I could more than easily reach those places.

Warlock's is weird. You have to double tap X in order to get serious height. If you just jump and then hit X in the air, you won't rise any more. It's great once you realize that.

Yeah, there definitely needs to be more loot chests.

There needs to be a reason for me to explore areas which don't really have much of anything in them.

Wasn't expecting to play this, didn't bother to apply for a code since we were out of town this past week but Amazon sent a code to my wife's email the other day and we got home today... fuck it :) Downloading now.

I don't know how people can think golden gun is underpowered. It's 3x one-hit-kills! All you need is decent anticipation and you can clear out 3 people before the timer runs out. I've pulled it off quite a few times.

We should take a giant picture of Destiny Gaf in front of the Traveler. Before the servers close. Yes all 500+.

Doesn't do shit to bosses tho.

Finally I get my chance to try the alpha after some session of MP.

I really like it.
Awesome looking game, generic quests, solid team play. This game will not bring any innovation, but what I need now it's a solid game.

Borderlands vibes ?
Wow, not at all.

Star wars vibes ?
Definitely and this helps a lot !

Take the strike. The area before the spider boss that you are having to guard while the ghost does its thing. With the Warlock/Titan super you can easily clear out 5+ enemies at once when they are flanking the left and right side.

So what's the trick to making the melee not suck?

How would everyone get to "the same tower"?

Doesn't do shit to bosses tho.

Yea this is true. I use it on Sepkis after his shields go down and it barely moves the bar.

Awesome! I get home at 530pm, just in time for the special mission! Cant wait to see what it is. Then Im going to keep playing untill they shut it down. Man, July 17th cant come soon enough!!

The Devil Tank or whatever it is scales right?

When I found it on the explore map I blasted the hell out of it. Solo killed it faster than the first time I tried a Strike mission with a full team.

I agree with everything here. Warlock is my favorite. The fast regen makes me use my power and grenades more. Plus the upgrades to melee that reduces grenade cooldown.

But the warlock grenade is my favorite by far.

the damage over time grenade can wreck a high level captain even with the shields on.

It doesn't do a lot of damage on the initial blast like the titan's flash bang or the hunters fire grenade, but over all, the warlock grenade has the potential for the highest damage.

The warlock grenade is the only grenade i've used that was fully capable of killing a level 8 or 9 captain with full shields. And i also use it to take out one of the walkers legs too.

But the warlock grenade is the hardest grenade to use though out of the three. It takes some mastery skills to use right since the enemies are agile and move alot, making it hard to determine where to throw the grenade to have the most effect so the enemy would stay in it's field long enough.

The warlocks grenade is great for settings up traps, like those spawn areas though, areas where you know a whole group of enemies is coming out. I've used that grenade to completely block a spawn point doorway as the enemies are coming out of it and they are just dissipating as they try to get through it.

IT'S AWESOME!!! And with the fast regen time and the melee making the cooldown even faster. I use the grenade A LOT.

I unlocked the other options for the grenade, which completely changes the grenades behavior, think of it as a grenade mod from borderlands. The other upgrade i unlocked for the warlocks grenade is complete ass. its pretty much a borderlands mirv grenade, it explodes into tiny grenades that then explode again, but the damage is SO WEAK. I cant even kill a regular ass level 2 grunt with that shit.

Because on Legend it's next to useless. You can't even kill 1 Fallen Commander with all three shots.

Needs to be buffed.
