PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

The Metal Gear company sucks. The majority of Konami's PSP/PSone catalogue on PSN aren't directly downloadable on Vita for some reason. This means no Silent Hill, Gradius Collection, PES and fuck, even no Metal Gear Solid without owning a PS3 to transfer the games to. I've ask the Konami guy who posts on GAF about this, and he said to bug SCEA. Yeah, like they listen to Vita owners ...

What? Activision is the one who should be embarrassed about that. They're still charging $50 for that wreck on PSN, and unlike the retail version it doesn't even come with the PSP CoD.

WELP, tanks a lot Konami for nothing.

Some companies would rather blame the platform instead of realizing their own mistakes. In this case, CoD's name should sell itself, and they probably aren't happy with sales. It's a joke of a game with horrible reviews and it's a disgrace for them that their most popular franchise performed so poorly.

At the E3 conference, Sony mentioned that they had great block busters like CoD Declassified on the Vita. We know that game sucks, so its not doing them any favors by mentioning it. Unless they are trying to please Activision and get on their good side.

Of course, these thoughts come from me trying to make sense of Crash being held hostage. I don't understand why they won't put it on the Vita.

i hope vitagaf supports the true team of the world cup tonight

Pretty sure Layden only referred to CoD (as AssCreed) on Vita through Remote Play.

If I end up buying the game, and spend less than 10 hour on it (exc. the time ogling Marie Rose and NyoTengu),
But that's why I bought the game for, aside from the pretty good game mechanics.
Look, a stealth release of a japanese Vita game!
Is it in English already or its a "Japanese import"? Tomba 2 burned me pretty hard.
Square just decided to be assholes.
But we don't know how much more Vitas will be sold more compared to the HD twins. That's how I'm coping with the Typo debacle.
Just played Sly 4 and it's great.
I've bought the game from the January sale for a pretty cheap price, and yet I don't feel like I got my money's worth.

Vita flopped but IIRC Vita is at 6 millions while PS4 is at 7 and XB1 at 4-5, in Japan Vita is the one that sell more than the other two, as you can see Vita numbers are not as bad as people think compared to the home consoles, but that didn't stop Square from ignoring Vita with Type 0, Square just decided to be assholes.

Hey, you don't know how many units the Vita will have sold by 2017.

The Vita was released mid December 2011 and February 22nd 2012 in many locations overseas. PS4 isn't even a year old yet and its already passed the Vita in sales. Xbox One will soon pass it as well. Sure in Japan Vita sales more than the PS4, but in Japan Vita isn't even performing that well sales wise either. Regardless, that's just Japan. Looking overseas, PS4 and Xbox One kills it and is an obvious choice when making a business decision.

PS4 and Xbox One are lacking in the RPG department. Type-0 HD will stand out.

Hopefully. Sorry to those excited for it, but a flop that forces them to port to Vita would be some poetic justice for me. Likely, they'll try Steam first, then iOS.

XII revenant wings aka XII-2 was on the DS

so it could be a possibility

so you are comparing an almost entire 2d (except for the square shaped stages)game with one of the most impressive titles of PS2 graphics wise? , i mean if the 3ds version of MGS3 is disgusting i cannot imagine the game running at all on this console and with 400x200 resolution would be an SD release instead of HD i guess. haha

Just make a quick remake with FFVI iOS graphics and done.

After Debaclous: Final Fantasy Typo-0 HD I have to imagine hopes of Vita getting FFXII HD have hit zero. It'll be on iOS or 4DS. The latter will probably get Persona 5 Portable too.

Y U DO THIS?

Persona has been PS-exclusive for a while outside of the fighting game series. I can't really see that jumping to a non-Sony handheld, but at the end of the day Atlus has to make money, so...

Seeing all these Persona games coming out, I'm glad Atlus takes care of their main series even if its a double edge sword. Can't believe I'll be 30 when SMT V is out. SMT IV is my favorite game by Atlus, and a top tier game overall.

I just wish Atlus had the ability to make an AAA SMT game on par with FFXV graphically.

Etrian Odyssey-clone, which is Nintendo-exclusive.
It's a Persona game though, there's no escaping that.

no no, what I meant was Square is possible of doing anything

they put the sequel on the DS, for all we know they will put XII remake on a toaster

I took Persona 4: DAN as some kind of Capcom Resident Evil Wii nonsense. The userbase bought a load of copies of a port but only got some cheapo spinoffs while everyone else saw the real deal.

Persona sells roughly the same on any platform, be it the Vita or the PS2, there's no reason to switch platform risking to piss off your fanbase.

It was mentioned before (first few pages of the thread) and announced about four months ago but the impressions are sort of iffy for it.

The general consensus seems to be that it's a bit like a Newgrounds Flash-ish side scrolling action RPG and cheap feeling. It reminds me of Ragnarok Battle Offline and maybe a less closed in version of Fairy Bloom Freesia.

I loooove the Japanese box art and it looks fun (for what it is anyway). I wonder what it'll be priced at though.

I wish RBO was re-released on current day platforms. Game had a amazing soundtrack.

Man I am enjoying the shit out of Sly Cooper 4 Vita. PS+ is saving my Vita for me.

Great controls, graphics, audio, gameplay... really solid all around. The super vibrant art style pops on the OLED, too.
