Destiny Alpha Thread: Impressions from the wild [Code Begging=ban]

I've had a great time exploring the wilds of Old Russia and done the Devil's Lair. I think I'm finished until Beta. My last hurrah was soloing the Devil Walker. It took a little while but was also a lot of fun.

As a guy who enjoys exploring in games Destiny's free exploration mode is right up my alley. The only downside is that you can't explore all those high vertical spaces that Bungie teases you with. Even the ones I can jump up to often act like an artificial roof That is a major bummer.

Still, I'm thrilled with what I have played so far. I can't wait to see more.

Aw.

At least GAF Town will go out with a bang.

So no new mission. Nothing at all.

I don't mind to finish the alpha with nothing happening, but hyping people and doing nothing is complete bullshit.

Please explain to me what about this tweet is supposed to hype people up about anything: "The #Destiny Alpha concludes tonight. Before the sun sets in real time, let's gather for some final action at 6PM PST. PKMD-HDN2-JMD3"

I thought there might be a chance we got to carry stuff over from alpha to beta, but it was obvious we wouldn't be able to keep anything for the full release.
As I said in an earlier post, there may be some sort of bonuses award to people who played the alpha/beta/both in the form of armour or weapons, but I was pretty damn sure that characters wouldn't carry over.

Can anyone give me a sense of the difficulty? I was watching the giant bomb unfinished video for this and Jeff was dying quite a lot. I can't tell if that is just him being shit or if the game is actually that hard.

A bit more on that, do the enemies acale when you have other people with you?

I like their Facebook message better.

Destiny Facebook said:
6pm PST! One final effort is all that remains!
If you are playing in the Destiny Alpha, please join us for one, final, explosive mission tonight at 6PM PST. This is the last chance for us to prepare for the Destiny Beta. We look forward to seeing you in the Tower, in the Crucible, and in the wild. One final effort is all that remains!

Strikes can be pretty intense, but the main story stuff and overworld stuff is pretty tame.

Edit: However, it is worth mentioning that you can set story missions to a higher difficulty.

Damn, I was sitting here thinking that there was going to be some new mission to do at 6pm to end the alpha in a big bang, I guess I must have read too much into it.

I would say that the highest difficulty (which I believe is called Legend) is very similar to the Legendary difficulty in the Halo series; with the only possible difference being that some enemies in Destiny can take much longer to take down than enemies from the Halo series.

Did the Devil thing earlier with a couple friends. The tank was much harder than the Mass Effect 2 eyeboss.

Overall, game is pretty cool. Was not really on my radar before the alpha. I didn't even try to get a code, myself. A friend just handed me one over Steam on a whim yesterday and I played about 6 hours of it since. It's like a Halo and Borderlands mash-up, that for some reason also kinda reminds me of Rage (no offense, Bungie). Will very likely be purchasing it at launch for my PS4.
