As usual, companies can't be trusted to faithfully remaster their older titles anymore. Even if it's small, there's always some kind of change to adjust the game for modern audiences.
Yeah i don't understand devs, it's not hard add options. Also annoying when devs forgot add Dpad control for metroidvanias(at least PS2 gamepad save me from this nonsense)
I finished this game last month. Its by no means a bad remaster. It looks great considering its a PS2 game at heart. Gameplay is also quite good.
I liked it less than the first game. Its a bit longer, which is good, but a lot of it is actually recycled from the original. The bosses were worse, especially the last one. Chain issen is the best thing about it, but can be heavily abused.
The game is weird. Quite early get thrown in this hub and you are showered with gift items you need to hand out, without knowing its a one time deal. You need to do all the social stuff right there. I kind of did it half way, and moved on not knowing there wouldn't be a chance to revisit all NPC. Its kind of weird. Story wise it made little sense too as Jubei basically contributed to nothing. 3 is the true sequel to 1, and ends the Nobunaga saga.
