I felt much the same. Specifically, I expected the campaign portion to be barren and the versus to have me blasting enemies with nerf bullets. I was shocked to discover that the campaign feels fleshed out and the weapons all felt appropriately powerful.

I think I pretty much got everything I could out of the alpha, but it was incredibly fun.

It was fun. In the 20 minutes up until the extension at midnight, everyone at the tower was in a circle and we took turns dancing in the middle. I made a bunch of friends with randoms I invited on my journey. Hours spent with Gaffers in the MP. Very memorable community and visuals for an Alpha test.

I had received 2 codes to try it out. One from a friend and one from an email from Sony. I downloaded it, but I was slammed with work and had to go into the office over the weekend thinking I could try it out tonight.

Since I haven't been able to play this (no PS4) I hope the beta has the same effect on me.
Yup. I finished Watch_Dogs and TR2013 before E3 week started, and it looks like I'll have to go back to my PS+ back catalogue until the beta comes out. At least PS3 has a fairly solid community still playing Payday 2...
Fuck Overkill/Starbreeze for not supporting the console version of this game, when PC is still getting new DLC for it.
But what if this was just a elaborate ploy by activision? The alpha was to perfect to actually be an alpha. What if they just spent a great deal of time making a amazing small slice and the rest is total garbage. Activision wants our money! Run I say! Run for hills!
I'm pretty bored right now. I need more destiny.

I managed to find the cool cave with the ?? level enemies and the giant Ogre on my last session, great way to close out the beta.
I think what Alpha did more then any other beta or pre release play I have had in the past was make me more excited for a game. I've been watching closely to the news of Destiny and I was excited, but after the Alpha this is to the top of my must have list. Was a great way to bring anyone that isn't sure about the game back in.

Awwwww. I took a break before trying the strike again with my new character. Oh well. I got all three classes to 8 and scored some nice gear. Not sure what I'm gonna play now tho. I was very ambivalent going in but had an absolute blast. Been a long time since a game hooked me like that. This was also special for being my very first online experience! Always been a solo or local player so this was really special for me.
Already got my partner to agree to closing our cafe September 9. 
Been a good while since I've been this hype!

Anyone else love the Crucible as much as I do?! There are some balance issues for sure, but damn it's so fun, especially the moon map with the vehicle mayhem and getting heavy ammo to rocket vehicles to oblivion.
