Sure. Any equipment unlocks you get through use will carry over to pvp except for damage increases. So if you get a green scout rifle and play with it enough to unlock the damage upgrade and a new scope, the scope will carry over to pvp, but the dmg upgrade will not as damage appears to be normalized by weapon type in pvp.

That seems reasonable.

I take it guardian stats do carry though? I want to max out my agility so it's less like I'm glued to the floor.

Doooo it. One of the best purchases I've ever made, and I got it before Remote Play!

I'm going on a long flight soon and I'm almost more excited to have more Vita time than getting to the actual destination haha.

From what I could tell common weapons don't have a level up, only uncommon or rarer. Also, there isn't an indicator telling you when it levels up so unless you go to view the weapon, you wouldn't notice it either.

The way to tell is when you are in your inventory screen and you hover the pointer over the weapon, instead of an inspect button, it will have an upgrade button.

It tells you when you or your weapon upgrades. I sometimes don't notice when I'm in the middle of a battle. But it does tell you.

Hopefully the Beta has capture the flag. Is there going to be any multiplayer mode where you can pick up weapons from other players? Not a huge fan of static ammo locations.

There definitely are. A picture showing the weapon and a plus sign shows up in the middle top of the screen and some text about an upgrade being available. Armor unlocks don't seem to notify you though.

Now imagine that you're one of those average citizens and you get a chance to visit the tower and you see 30+ guardians just dancing on each others' heads and kicking around a floaty purple ball instead of doing anything important.
 
I had a blast. But I'm a bit confused on how do I level up specific attributes of my character like speed and getting triple jump? I unlocked double jump for my hunter, do I have to do specific actions that will level it up versus everything leveling up together slowly?

Also Gaz Bro I think I ran into you a few time playing. Always watched your streams haha, if you have space on your list add me I'm looking to play with more GAF people during beta

Anyone get a beta code when they pre-ordered digitally on psn?

Ordered about 4 days ago- so far no response from bungie.

I have no code to enter on their site. Wondering if beta codes were/are only for retailers?

As far as I know PSN pre-order beta codes have not gone out yet.

Ah, my second character only had a common weapon so didn't get to level it up and just had green armor leveling up and never saw anything. So at least there is some indicator for weapons. I was in the inventory screen plenty enough to keep tabs on my stuff though so it wasn't that big of a deal once I understood the level up system.

It's our boy's PS4 so I was happy to sit watching.

Now it's got to the point where I'm seriously considering investing in one (in the same house) so I can fireteam with him.
 
I remember stupidly tryingto jump on top of one of the landing jets that fly in now and again. You just drop straight through it :( wanted to sit on it.

Ugh, I am actually missing it. Can't wait to do some more exploring when the game hits. I'm salivating over that Venus map.

Apart from the obvious such as Borderlands/Halo/Mass Effect...um. Not sure.

I know the game has made me want to give Borderlands 2 another shot. It never clicked with me the way the first did.

Know the feeling, the first I played pretty religiously yet drifted off midway through the second.

Think all of my friends have finished with it now so the coop aspect isn't really viable sadly. :-/
 
When I pre-ordered the game from Amazon earlier this year, they sent me 2 beta keys. I'll give the other one to a Gaffer on July 17th. Just want to make sure the one I use works before giving the other away.

If you want to be sure, you could preorder on amazon for free and then cancel it after you get the code.
 
Unfortunately wasn't around over the weekend to try it, but I feel most people enjoyed it! How would you describe your experience in a couple of sentences?
