Official Destiny Alpha Withdrawal Thread

Is there a Google document for Destiny players, with platform sections?

Balls to trying to play this with randoms the whole way through. Clearly designed for proper co-op

It's odd too, because you've also got them saying that it's because of that additional 10% of the GPU that the Kinect no longer has to use that they were able to get the Xbox One version up to the standards the PS4 set.
 
So what do you guys think is the best class based on what you've played in the Alpha? I think my favorite one right now is Warlock. The void grenade was awesome and the super was really effective at clearing dense pockets of enemies, even from a distance. Hunter was also fun with the knife and seeker grenade, but the Golden Gun was pretty underwhelming. I didn't really get much time with the Titan, but it felt like you had to get in close with your enemies for the super to be effective, which I'm not really a fan of.

Also, I noticed that there are several types of damage, Kinetic, Solar, Void and Arc. Has there been any word on whether they are more effective vs. certain enemies? I'd imagine Arc being most effective against Fallen, seeing as they are mechanical, and Solar vs. Hive since they are organic, but I never noticed such a thing in the Alpha.

Need to keep talking about Destiny!

I would like to point out that none of Bungie's console games have run at 60fps.

All their Halo games were 30fps. Halo 1 on pc could run at 60, but all animations ran at 30, so there was less of a difference than you would think. It is likely that this game works in much the same way. Thus there is no pressing need to sacrifice resolution/effects to reach 60hz.

Keep in mind that Destiny was designed for X360/PS3, the game has been in development since 2009.

Purple would probably look really good for the design, it seems a lot more foreign. Orange just doesn't suit it. Purple seems a more alien color, and I think it would make the outfit look much better.

Either way, I still don't like the torso, arm, and leg pieces of this set very much. Cloak and helmet though, I am fine with those.
 
The classes in this game remind me of the multiplayer classes in mass effect 3.
The warlock is a soldier and adept hybrid.
The Hunter is a infiltrator and engineer hybrid.
The titan is a vanguard and sentinel hybrid.

I ran vanguard exclusively in mass effect and I jive with the titan class the most.
 
Not having any withdrawals from the Alpha, but my experience was so good with that little snip of it that I'm kinda bored right now with my current games. I need to stop going back to my old games and open up a new one and see where it takes me lol. Still looking forward to the Beta though.

Hell yeah nothing better then vanguard charging into a group of enemies and blastin fools with a shotty

Good point about the video thing.

I don't think Destiny will overtake Halo as far as tournaments are concerned, but I could easily see it sustaining the rest of the MP fan base who reside in the other shooters.

for the first time I feel like owning a PS4 is REALLY worth it. seriously, my interest in this game before was pretty minimal but after spending like 5-6 hours with the game over the weekend i'm blown away.
 
I only played Destiny Alpha for the following.

Checking Anti Aliasing.
Frame Rate
Controls.

End impressions,

Frame Rate needs to be smoothened (lol even a word?) out a bit.
AA is pretty well done, when I would zoom in to check jaggies there were multiple colored textured used to distract me.
Controls felt like any other Bungle shooter.


Then I turned off the game.


Oh yea, they better tighten up the graphics on level 3 !

The beta was tons of fun and nearly perfectly balanced, then Naughty Dog screwed it up by making large, unneeded balance changes for the final release and during the weeks following launch, pretty much destroying the game outright.

I hear they did a similar thing with Uncharted 2, where they released a massive patch halfway through the lifetime of the multiplayer that changed the balance in such a way that it was almost a different game.

Really hope that doesn't happen to Destiny. Seems like a really strange thing to do....
 
A little Gameplay of the Destiny Alpha on PVP made with Sharefactory. Please be nice. Was my first try with SF and I never do creative stuff. Unfortunatly PS4 didn't record my best moments( 15er Streak and almost triplekill plus 2) , so I had use to other stuff.

I dont know why it is this shitty Qualtiy. I used my file from the PS4 to upload. Why isn't it 720p ?
