Is it bad that I only now realize that SMB3 is where Bowser gets his Down+B from? :O

Even if the comments were meant for you, I never intend any hostility. But like I said, I was just talking to myself. Sorry for the confusion. :-)

Glad to clear things up, pal :)

Now what's this about a Dark Pit Amiibo?

huh? Did I miss something?

Do forgive me if I'm mistaken in this; I really can recall a section of the Direct where Sakurai had various mini figurines, and Pit in his black outfit was one...I'm rewatching it right now to verify.

Will get back to ya in a bit, foxuzamaki.

after the E3 demo impressions, how do you guys feel about the 3DS version of the game?

I heard a few negatives from NWR's podcasts saying it was pointless

my eyes are bad so 3DS is not really something I spend time playing much

but for those who have tried the demo was it a waste of dev time?

It was more comfortable than I thought, at least good to play with, hated that the 3DS were not connected in the BestBuy I went, wanted to try more multiplayer matches than the SmashRun. I hope the retail version can customize buttons to swap L and R, so my grab is on the right and shield on the left like in 64.

I'm hesitating to buy brawl before I play 3DS version.

Now Wii Online multiplayer has closed, brawl's balance is some kind of weird, every time I try to buy brawl, I always feel strange because of that thing.

I played melee so many times, but I don't have this right now. :(

It's hard to wait until september 10.

I'm excited about portable Smash, and it will just be a placeholder until the Wii U version anyway. After the Wii U version is out, I'm still excited about the idea of bringing it around so easily.

I didn't play the 3DS version, but I watched it very closely at Smash fest for a Smash Run. It looked great to me. The 60fps caught me off guard on how awesome it looked. So I dunno. We'll see. It's the controls I'm more worried about if anything.

Smash Run was very fun, and the game for the most part seems fun. The circle pad is also better for tilting, imo. I found it easier to swap between tilting and smashing with the circle pad than I ever did with the Gamecube. THAT BEING SAID, the controls do take a lot of getting used to, which is why you'll read negative impressions. I found myself often using tap up to jump as opposed to X or Y, which was weird. Additionally, L to grab and R to shield gets confusing, especially if you're constantly swapping between the Wii U and 3DS versions (which is what a lot of people at the Best Buy demos were doing), as in the Wii U Best Buy demo, both of the pro controller's shoulder buttons grab, while the triggers block.
But yeah, definitely hard to get any solid impressions off of it, but it overall seemed really fun. The only thing that worried me was that I wasn't all that impressed by the stages...but then again, I only really got to play two of them.

I just watched the trailer for the 3DS version that Sakurai showed in the Digital Event. I noticed that the Peahats from Ocarina of Time are in Smash Run. Do we have an updated list with all of the enemies confirmed after E3?

Oh, I think we both know what she's coughing up

Phazon

Lmao.

As for the 3DS question, still buying it. Negativity arises from the fact they didn't get used to the controls. Also, because the controls were in a weird-ass layout. It's 100% probable that we'll be able to change them.

Sometimes I'm worried that the 3DS controls for smash will suck.

Then I remember I've been playing Brawl with a sideways wiimote.

My friend Joel who played a lot of Melee chose to play like that. He was very successful. My friend and I always played nunchuk style. Going to be weird adjusting to the 3DS version and the off-tv-play of the Wii U version.

You should get brawl so you can install project m.
