Fuck this game was absolute horseshit. Luckily we're through. Pfff incredible thriller (well if you were Holland or Australia).

What's up with GAF meltdown. I knew gaf was large percentage of Dutch gaf, but worse than E3?!

I'm definitely re-evaluating my expectations. Today was a humbling experience that showed me the Netherlands are not as unbeatable as I had hoped. Everyone including myself has been quick to dismiss the hosts, but I wouldn't be so sure just yet.
 
Was a great game to watch, one of the most fun definitely. Hope Australia has another game in them like that. They really screw up that cross that then led to Netherlands' third though.

I am crying but happy looking forward.

Either Spain win to keep Australia a 1% chance of getting through the group, or Chile win and kill tiki taka.

Or it will be a boring draw that pisses everyone off.

Thanks to all of you who answered my questions earlier and cleared up the difference between a free kick and a penalty kick :) I think I've pretty much got of all the basics now.
 
Still annoyed about that cross before the Depay goal

Too high to volley, too low to head, too hard to adjust for. Clearly lost his head since he wasn't sure whether to shoot or pass, and ended up panicking and just twatting it as hard as he could in the general dirction of his teammate

Wow. What can I say. Good game lads. It sucks we couldn't win.

Anyway I'm rooting for the Dutch to win this cup.

It was a brilliant game. And never was a one sided match. I am not so much disappointed for AUS. They put up a great fight.
 
Wow, the Aussies are fun to watch. I was pulling for the Dutch but I thought the socceroos deserved at least a point. That Cahill goal was silly good.
 
YES!!!! 6 out of 6. We are pretty much placed for the next round. Have to give props to Australia tho, they did deserve a point, we were terrible the first half.

O'Neill always moans. He's done it before on the BBC during a World Cup, decided to have an argument with someone else just for the hell of it... can't remember who it was.

It's probably the reason he nevered appeared as a Beeb pundit after that, hence he's on ITV.

We have some of our best young players out with injury this tournament too, the big question is who is going to replace Cahill next time around, they can't just keep relying on him to bail them out.

Maintenance screwed something up. GAF has been slow since a long time before the match.

Got the feeling, players wanted it after the first game and they felt they could make it work. But it is (to) easy for an opponent to cut out any pass to your midfield players and than there is not enough offensive quality on the flanks. (4-3-3 solves both problems)

Any news about Martins I ?

It's normal.
Brazil had the best players in the world from 94~2006 (Ronaldo, Romario, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos to name a few) and Now we have......... uh.......... Neymar? lol
We have a bunch of above average players, but no supreme talent like we did a while back.

Kruse would/could play the lone striker when Cahill hangs up the boots. He suits ange potegoglus (the managers) style better than Cahill (technically better with his feet and much much quicker. He plays in the budesliga and is only 24odd).

Also have taggert who came on for Cahill. He is 20 but lead the scoring for the a-league this year and will be in Europe soon.
