If you didn't see it yet, you NEED to watch Palutena's revolting dinner.
It's that awesome, and you can see Palutena is really kind and nice.

I'd take any Nintendo anime at this point.
Why they aren't exploiting it like TPC does with Pokemon idk.
True, but weren't they talking about a Pikmin cartoon?

Just thinking but there's no guarantee that Phosphora is an assist trophy; Being devs they could easily have just slapped the model in there for that shot of them together. Of course, there's another possibility rather than Assist Trophy if that isn't the case... ;D

I seriously hope you're not insinuating that she's a fully-fledged character, given she's been shown off twice now without being revealed as one.

Not seriously, no :3

Now that you mention it though, it is outside of Sakurai's M.O. not to tell us when he sticks something in the game like that so it's a little odd. Then again that shot isn't a PotD so there was no description for it anyhoo.

Smash Manor with episodic plot lines involving how every character interacts with each other. Think of the fan fiction.
That's pretty much how all Smash fanfiction goes so...

But really, that would be the best way to approach a Smash adaption in animation or even comics.

And fun fact: Archie actually pitched Nintendo a Super Mario, Kirby and Metroid comics, but they didn't take. I wonder if Nintendo would say yes now that they're more willing to license out their characters.
I am not kidding when I say that a Mario comic by the same writer as the Megaman and Sonic writer would probably be the most insane and greatest thing ever.

Whoa, they look good. I wonder if they are going to ask them again and they might accept it this time? I dunno.

Would read the SHIT out of an archier kirby comic.

I'll post this in the Treasure Tracker thread (if I can find one), but since you guys are talking about Captain Toad, check out the new analysis from GameXplain -- they dissect 10 levels and more or less piece together half of them, and also make a case for how much there may be to the overall game. Incredibly well-done, as always.

I'd prefer a western-made Smash Bros. cartoon.

Then again, I just don't dig anime.

Well its a good thing "anime" only refers to a country of origin and isn't indicative of a specific artstyle or writing style :P All that being said, I wouldn't want SHAFT (the guys who did the Palutena trailer and another Kid Icarus promo) to do it - I'm not that big a fan of what they've offered up so far.

I want a Smash cartoon done by the same group who the American Mega Man cartoon.

Does that show still hold up? I haven't watched an episode in forever but I have a feeling I wouldn't look to kindly on it nowadays what with my standards having improved.

What about all the characters on a bus?

LOL, that was original story plan for Brawl right?

Edited: Yeah,

Right. It wasn’t bad at all and had its own appeal, but it was a bit different than what I had envisioned it would be. It went something like this…"Some of the characters are on a bus on the way to the stadium. Samus is there. Donkey Kong is there and Snake is watching the bus from afar." It was like that. (laughs) I had envisioned a more serious tone for the story. Something with some misfortunelike a single character escaping total annihilation of his squadron and then fighting back while rounding up his allies. Ultimately, we worked together and successfully organized our ideas into the storyline for The Subspace Emissary.

The #Snake4Smash4 Twitter deal is over on the Smashboards now too. Please join in if you care about Snake or just want something new to talk about! Every tweet counts.

Also, I would kill for a Metroid comic. I'd actually really like to see the Archie guys take a crack at it. I might not always agree with what they do with Sonic, (I haven't read them in ages though), but I always thought they were exciting.

I think the ship has sailed for a playable Toad in this iteration of Smash Bros. He could end up as DLC but for all we know Sakurai may have already put in place his decisions for those characters.

Whether as regular or Captain Toad though, I think that character has earned its place in Smash Bros. and I held that stance even before a spin-off game was announced for him. He's one of the few well known Nintendo characters left that has had enough history and appearances to be iconic/recognizable to a larger audience outside of the Nintendo diehard. (another being Dixie Kong) In regards to how he would play, it would be hard coming up with a playable character if we were to adhere strictly to his appearances as Captain Toad. Perhaps Sakurai could pull moves from his regular appearances as well which would at least allow move ideas to be integrated from the likes of NSMB or SM3DW while even going as far back as something like Wario's Woods.

Why no to Metroid?

Whyyyyyyyyyyyy?

Damn those guys are good. I hope there's more than 20-levels though, unless it's either really cheap or has some serious replayability.

Obsessive-compulsive rant time.

What's with Nintendo of America omitting "Pikmin" from Pikmin & Olimar for the second game in a row? It doesn't make any sense. The Pikmin are as much a part of the character as Olimar is, and "Olimar" is inconsistent since Rosalina & Luma is being used.

On the character select screen posted above, he's just labeled as "Olimar"

Why must he be so close....yet so far....

It's pretty clearly fake since they're using the MGS3D art, but damn, why would someone make such an accurate and clean looking fake select screen just to put Snake on it? Everything about it is consistent with the real deal as far as I can tell.

That's what I'm saying. The character is called Pikmin & Olimar in Japan (sensibly so), but it's just "Olimar" in America.
Oh my bad, I thought you were saying you saw him referred to as simply "Pikmin."

I need to slow the fuck down when I read sometimes, lol.

This really irks me, too. Like, what the hell?! The character is even named "Pikmin & Olimar" on the official website, much like it was on the Brawl DOJO!!, too. Why change that in-game? Especially when the character keeps its full name in Japan, and, like you said, "Rosalina & Luma" keeps its full name while "Pikmin & Olimar" doesn't! It doesn't make sense, gah! That's why I didn't base my updated roster completely on the demo's character select screen, because that fact pisses me off, lol. Plus there's the whole thing with Greninja coming before Pikachu, which is driving me crazy. =P

Some of the characters are in weird spots. Like Greninja.

It's definitely fake. I wasn't presenting it as real. It's his Snake Eater 3D artwork.

It just sucks how.........how fake it is.......

Fuck.
