Official Destiny Alpha Withdrawal Thread

Has there been any words on the specs yet? I want some warlocky goodness all up in here. Oh well. Just 4 more weeks.

PS: Just in time for my vacation... Wish it was the real deal though :)

I don't think I have the balls to attempt Strikes solo. Has anyone even soloed those in the alpha?

Can you really solo them ? Because you had to go through a matchmaking when you were in Orbit. Don't know how to start it solo. Maybe when your console is offline or you don't have PS+.

Does it let you solo them? Does the game bring in new randoms if one or more people quit the strike before it ends? I ask because on the alpha website it lists all the people I played with, and our stats, for each individual strike and sometimes the list has 5 or 6 people in it.

Game is unplayable offline, and strikes can't be started without PS+.

Well they do say 1-3 in the description. Maybe there's a feature for it in full retail?

I loved the Alpha!
Only things that bugged me; and i apologize to have to bring it up.... the 30fps.
I just hate how "choppy" the game is at 30.
60fps is so silky smooth.....

That being said....i cant wait for the Beta and then the full game!!!!!!!!

If you go into a Strike alone, it auto groups you with 2 others. If those 2 are terrible, then you're soloing it!

lol yup. I ended up soloing most of the devil's walker fight because the other two kept getting too close and killing themselves, then they quit.

Other people can join midway through too.

Not necessarily the same but I found the areas where you go through for the Strike in the actual free roam part and some of the enemy placements are the same including the spiderbot. Obviously they take a lot less hits because you're doing free-roam and not the purposefully configured strike mission.

Still, was pretty cool stumbling across them and I promptly wiped every one out including the spider on my own. Felt chuffed.

Otherwise, in all runs through the Strike mission that I did with others, I'd also always end up doing the most cos a lot people don't use their smarts when tackling large groups.

I realized no choppieness and I am decent at these things.

Eterniti, join the DestinyGAF group too. That's the official clan. And that one is not full.

This is going to be a great birthday present for me. Already got the day off and can just sit in my underwear and eat my birthday pizza and play destiny. The 9th can't come quick enough.

Approved everyone on this page who sent a request.

Edit-
So how does everyone plan on playing during the beta/release version? One character only, three, etc? Will you level one character at a time, play 3 at once, or something else?

I plan on focusing on Human female Warlock first, Exo Titan second (not sure gender yet) then Human female Hunter third.

For the full release, I'm going to level my Exo Hunter to the cap, then work on a Warlock. Beta, I might go Titan since I didn't play much of it in the alpha.

Full release I'll probably just rock one character.

In the beta, I'll be spending time with three characters to try and get a better feel for which class I like best and would want to roll full time. After the alpha, I'm leaning towards hunter, but I didn't spend much time with titan class.

I'm probably going Human Titan > Exo Hunter > Awoken Warlock, one character at a time and then switching over to my favorite ( probably Titan or Warlock ) when I've got all three leveled.

That's exactly the race/class combos I did in the alpha (and will carry on to retail).

A+ to Mr David Candland and his team. The UI is amazing.

The only thing I'd like to see improved is the ease of inviting someone to your fire team.

Not only that, also inviting other people from your friends list into your explore game. Let me get into a game with two friends as one fireteam. Then let my other friends from GAF also make a firegroup and explore together with my group! I dislike the fact that every 'zone' in the explorable map is instanced.

What I do in retail may be determined by how much "upgrading" can be done after level 20 with weaponry, motes of light, etc. If there is a robust system past 20 I may lean toward focus on one.

I didn't try the Hunter in the Alpha but will in the beta. Will be interesting to see what tweaks they made (if any) to the classes.

I believe it says that because it's telling you how many people you can have in your party when you join. If it's just you, then it's going to group you with two randoms.

Thanks for giving me his name. Now I know who to thank. Also, the explanation for the mouse-like cursor actually makes sense, so I take back what I said before.

I'm suffering major withdrawals from the Alpha.

Even with the limited content we saw, Destiny is going to be a stunning game. :)

I honestly hope they keep it exactly as it is in terms of balance and functionality - loved the whole experience so much.

On one of my runs I died 0 times to my teammates' combined 37. Does that count? The bounty never triggered though, That was annoying. The spider tank was pretty easy to take down solo in the wild outside of the strike mission.

That White Destiny bundle looks great. The only things redeeming my launch purchase are Resogun and the Destiny Alpha.
