And I respect you, but for the billionth time:I already explained this multiple times. Im getting tired of retyping things. Some people felt that having a smaller group would be better to managed, there wont be any confusion trying to find people to play with, etc.
That's how I see it, and I understand and respect that you don't understand what I'm trying to get at.
It was 'hidden' because the game releases in September and thus there was no immediate rush to get a clan set up. I have not 'pressurized' anyone from the other group, because they were not in a rush to fill it up and because back then, that was the only group there and there was no confusion. This group and its maker and its continuing recruiting process were the cause of the confusion and the result of not checking in with others, instead rushing ahead to make something, and, by my impressions, partly driven by wanting some form of ownership. The continued refusal of this group to accept the criticisms against it or to deal with the confusion it caused itself is why I am in this thread talking to you. I have explained my reasoning several times now, yet you keep acting as if all I say is 'close down pls!'.And who from the other group have you been pressurising like this to deal with it?
There has been plenty of conversation in this thread (look through it) and I had brought the idea of shutting it down based on member feedback awhile ago.
The previous group was not advertised, was hidden within Bungie.net and no thread informing everyone not in the official withdrawal thread that such a group was in the making or had already been made.
Any ideas other than shut it down or posts in here other than recrimination would be helpful and necessary in creating a conversation around how to proceed, none have really been apparent.
Merging groups under the other the previous group has been the only idea floated so far, the logistics of such an idea have not been discussed.
We can make platform-specific clans within the main GAF group if people want that. There's no member cap on actual groups, and clans/groups are separate things.
The fact of the matter is there shouldn't be more than one "official" NeoGAF group on Bungie.net. Within that main group people can create dedicated clans for platform specific stuff, Crucible play, etc. But there should only be one main group.

Not sure why another DestinyGAF clan was formed after there already was another DestinyGAF clan. I get that it is PS4 exclusive, but the other clan also has PS4 members in it.
I was confused, as it seems many others are, thinking this was a remaking of the other group. Wouldn't it be best to keep all the members in a single clan, instead of an offset DestinyGAF clan. It seems this will only lead to more confusion, once the game is released.

And I respect you, but for the billionth time:
Smaller groups divided by platform were already possible in the existing group.
I'll say that again, because you are apparently consistently ignoring it:

I had no involvement whatsoever in its creation. Are you the owner of the other group?
All right Thanks. Who should I talk to so they know I'm from gaf and they accept me?
This is not claiming to be "official" simply a group for ps4 owners who play Destiny, the other provides a facility for that, this simply only does that.
Separate groups by platform has been the norm and not the exception and fragmentation has not been an issue.
Think as you wish, you are so entitled but simply demanding things based on your position is not helpful ....... I have not demanded anything from anyone.
If anything i think that all the groups should be different. I don't know what you'd to see with Xbox360 or ps3 or Xbone players if you are playing on PS4... What would I do with them? compare stats? I am confused about how the whole system works i guess. I don't see the big problem with seperate groups since a platform combined group would not add anything to the way the clans/groups work. Or am I wrong about how they work?

As to closing it down hell no. We have 300 members that's a lot.

It's official in that it has GAF in its name and a thread here on the forum. If this group was called "Shadownet & Jburton's super rad PS4 friends" then that'd be fine, but there should only be one "DestinyGAF."

maybe I should call it "Shadownet & JBurton's super rad PS4 friends" if it mean people will finally stop trying to come into this thread and creating arguments.
But then other people will call me out for being possessive and stuff.
I can't win.
"Guardians Against the Fallen" ;-)
Those who are for the idea of ONE group. think that if we are all under one group. sharing informations like a new way to beat a boss, etc. would be easier across all platforms.
But considering how fast news get spread on NeoGAF and the internet in general I dont see this being an issue if everyone split up into their own Platform specific group.
I have nothing against other players of other console. But I would think it's pointless to compare stats and stuff with other players who I will never play with as well.
Having a separate group with a smaller amount of people. aka 400 PS4 members vs. 2000 all platforms members. mean we can run a tighter ship, keep track of things and etc.
disclaimer. this is all my opinion.

No, I have not commented on that "stolen" post, since it was a single post and I was not up to date on the context of that post or the prior arrangements that had been made regarding clan ownership.I accept your criticism and I personally have not been in a "rush" to fill positions, simply approving as they came in.
The question of ownership is interesting, I just wonder in your even handed manner if you have berated people claiming that things where "stolen" from them and only they had the right to set a group up.
I feel we are clear on this, yes.I have explained my position many times also, as have you and I feel we are both clear on what the opposing positions are.
I think Shadownet should've been more aware / careful before dashing of to make a group. In my opinion, the fault isn't with the original group for not being open, it's with Shadownet for not looking around first.A failure to be open when setting up the group and instead of imposing your decision (those who set up the other group, not you in particular) ask for input would have helped this situation I feel.
If you feel like that, then by all means, you have the right to challenge that. I don't think making your own thing and ignoring them ( Like Shadownet ) is the proper way to do that.I get a sense that people from previous clans and little clicks that form take ownership of these things.
I would have no problems with that. The problem I have right now is that you seem to want to be an alternative / replacement for the current DestinyGAF ( due to literally including DestinyGAF in your group name ). If you would make it clear that this is not intended to be a replacement GAF clan, but rather a clan you set up to have fun with whoever wants to have fun with you, then that's fine. Hell, call it the 'Shadownet's Shadow of Nets Shadownet Shadowclan of Shadows' for all I care; as long as its your clan, do with it what you want. Just don't go and make an alternative version of the already existing DestinyGAF, literally using 'DestinyGAF' in the name and making a thread for it on GAF telling everyone to join this GAF clan when there is already a DestinyGAF clan in the works.maybe I should call it "Shadownet & JBurton's super rad PS4 friends" if it mean people will finally stop trying to come into this thread and creating arguments.

It doesn't have a thread here on the forum though. It morphed fom one after it became un-hidden and wasn't publicised as the GAF group.
But then:
Seems like a major part of the confusion and fighting is that specific subgroups are possible and this is called "DestinyGAF PS4" a wee bit too close to the other group's name being "DestinyGAF".
Just an observation and my will probably be my only input on this.

Exactly, I doubt everyone knew it was the official clan for GAF. This OP decided he wanted to have a bit more organized group for PS4 only.. Since no one from the other group decided to create the "official group" thread for Destiny, I see no problem with this OP making one and organizing a group.
The other clan leader/admins should have promoted their clan as the official one and got a thread going once the alpha came out. Can't get mad at this guy for taking the initiative to promote and add people to a group with exclusively PS4 players because nothing was said or set up by any of the other leaders in the other clan.

Hi, that's me
Fair enough. If you didn't feel it was public, you could have asked around in that thread to find out more about it and to bring up wheter someone shouln't make a new thread for it.I'm a little bit irritated of Tiemen accusing me of stuff. Yes, I did read the Alpha withdrawal thread. It didn't seem public, and honestly this is my opinion.
And if you think that, you could've brought it up in the topic with the old group to start a discussion on it, since nothing has been set in stone at this point ( again, the game will be out in September, no need to rush out and create your own clan because you think you have a better idea; just start a discussion ).I thought having a separate console group would provide a better experience for that specific platform members. I still stand by my decision. I didn't stay up all night making threads, posts and a group if I didn't think this through.
Fair point, and that is something that will need to be looked at in a discussion on what the clan will look like ( though it'd be possible to just have PS4#1 / PS4#2 ). You do not solve problems like this by making your own group without discussing stuff. Also, from what other people are saying. Clans are capped at 500. what happened if everyone is in one DestinyGAF group but we have more than 500 PS4 members? we need to create a secondary PS4 clan? etc etc?
