Why? I doubt the likes of Kagawa (who was the nearest player to the 6-yard-box for that low ball) is going to get on the end of a lot of headers. The issue wasn't the height of the cross, but the lack of runs into the box.

and attempting to pass a (slow) ball through two of their defenders helps how? Wasn't there more than one Japanese player in the box? He should have tried to cross it since a low ball like that was never going to make it through such tight space without lots of luck.
