Official Destiny Alpha Withdrawal Thread

I don't like the 'Destiny β' writing. Most people don't use the letter beta in their daily lives so it takes a little bit more time and cognitive effort to understand those banners. I prefer the 'Destiny beta' writing because you can understand them instantly. It's written just as it's pronounced. By the way, I'm not sure even people from the software/gaming industry write β, they just write beta instead.

Very true, I do have my fingers crossed for those weapons that are on the cards. Perhaps we do not get the exotic versions of Gjallarhorn and co but lesser models... who knows I'm just thinking outloud. All I know is some of the names from the codes are indeed weapons.

Whatever we are given I will gladly accept though!

Yeah...they are free items so whatever they end up being I won't complain

With the Gamestop upgraded Sparrow, PS items, and these 17 codes from those cards I'll already be starting the game off pretty well equipped

That GameStop sparrow is the only one eluding me. Wish Amazon got special things like brick and mortar places got.

Just when I wanted to post in the Feedback section to ask for the option to hide helmets in the character selection screen
 
So I think it's time to put everything into perspective.

Ok. So I've kept quiet since the other morning when I had already woken up in a bad mood. I've had time to sit back and think. First let me say this. My reactions the other morning were harsh and uncalled for. This is in regards to both groups.

Now I'm going to explain what my plans were. See I realized from playing with the clan stuff in the Alpha that DestinyGAF was going to need some real organization and team work. So I set out to develop a plan about how to implement things and to work on getting everyone on the same page. First I had faith in GAF and believed that nobody would run to snap up the DestinyGAF name or anything without talking it over with GAF. At the same time we don't have all the details on how clans will work. So I was also waiting on more information about that before just jumping in So we had time. I was working up plans that I could go to some of the DestinyGAF members who've been there from the beginning and even some of the newer ones and say hey here is my idea for how we could pull off this clan thing off. I was almost done developing those ideas and was about to go to these folks. So seeing not one but 2 groups pop up overnight while I slept pissed me off. It didn't help that I was having a bad morning to begin with but still that's besides the point.

Now that said and done those plans are long gone. See while my reactions were harsh there were things that did piss me off and I think rightfully so. See there was no communication from anyone that this was going to happen. Even after the fact not a single PM or anything. All it would have taken is someone PMing or even hell discussing it in the thread saying hey should we do this? Everyone cool with this? Nobody did that.

It's been said that I was going to be given power when I got around to coming in. I didn't want that. I was just wanting to get things set up so that we'd have a stable base in place. So yea easy to see why I was a bit pissed huh? That said it is what it is. It seems that DestinyGAF is up and moving along. I wish them the best.

Now onto this little war going on between DestinyGAF and DestinyGAF PS4. Guys there is no reason to fight. You can get along and co-exist. Not everyone is going to want a huge clan/group. They will want their own platform specific clans/group. That's ok too. See during the alpha as someone mentioned there was this thing called Alliances where your clans can kind of group up and befriend each other. So both of these clans can co-exist together. I'm sure the tags probably can be shared between groups. Both clans/groups will be coming from gaf. So I see no reason they can't share a tag on their names in game. Course here is again where we don't have all the details. Hence the desire to wait till it was clear how the whole clan thing would work for sure.

So guys please try to get along. There is no need to attack each other. You can co-exist.

Thanks! She actually hasn't been born yet, but she could be here any day now, so I'm just mentally preparing myself.

I'm stoked to put some more time into this game. The Alpha was pretty lonely, but I hadn't been approved for GAF then. I lurked the Alpha thread pretty hard though.

Please post this in the other thread as well seeing as some people there are saying that this thread is only being visited by people who have played the Alpha.

As far as I know the 2 current groups can be merged. A clan tag can be made under the original DestinyGAF group that has PS4 in the name, same with 360 and PS3. So in that case there is no need to have 4/5 seperate groups.

So like

DestinyGAF
--DestinyGAF PS4
--DestinyGAF 360
--DestinyGAF Xbo
--DestinyGAF PS3

Something like that. There is indeed no need to fight, but I believe there have been a lot of miscommunication. I wasn't aware of most of it, and I dont want anybody to feel left out or aggrivated or whatever. I hope it can all get sorted out soon, as there is no need for hostility from any one from either group.

Haha... I think not. When I hover over a door and drop on you with a shotgun in multiplayer, you'll know Warlocks are the best. When I Warlock grenade you and the three other Guardians squatting around my control point, and half of you die by accidentally walking back into the radius, you'll know Warlocks are the best. When I Nova Bomb you as soon as you spawn, you'll really know about Warlocks and how they are the best.

Yeah you linked to it but that's not going to make people read it honestly. Some are saying like yeah we didn't play the beta so we didn't roll up in that thread.
Which I don't understand as this is basically the Destiny Hype thread for now anyway.
Either way it doens't matter right now, the beta is like 4 weeks away still.

I thought I made it pretty clear that I was just saving the name for our Clan? Yes, I apologize if I have crushed your dreams but, it's not too late. I just don't want any random dudes/girls taking the Clan name. Then every GAFer started to join and I open the flood gates, every single member knows my intentions as stated in the Clan's Welcome Note. Never in my intention to take the Clan from you or whatever it is you were accusing me off.

I second this. I was a HUGE Halo MP guy... Destiny's PvP isn't "bad"... but it doesn't grab me the same way Halo did. I'm hoping this changes with the final release.

Because there's nothing i'd love more than to mob up with my Warlock GAF brethren and smear the moon with your plebeian Titan and Hunter blood! Muah-hahahah!

Edit: Shit... i didn't mean YOU and spilling YOUR blood specifically... i meant all GAF destiny. Er' that sounded really harsh, i apologize lol.

It's all good. You guys are making it go. Ultimately that was the goal to get a clan up and running and organized. I was just having a bad morning that morning and was very angry to begin with. No real crushed dreams. I was just having a bad day. There are no hard feelings on my part at all at this point. Like I said I hope all the clans that spring up from GAF in this game are packed and just having a blast. That's my thinking at this time. I was having a bad morning that morning. That's why I started my post by making it a point to say I acted childish that morning.
 
I'll probably go Titan first then Warlock. I didn't have much time with the Hunter. Seemed cool form what I played of it. Throwing knives is always fun.
