Official Destiny Alpha Withdrawal Thread

Completely off topic. But have any of you guys seen the AC Unity trailer with the Lorde cover of Everybody Wants To Rule The World?

That was a great cover. Though when I was watching that. It hit me. Its during French Revolution. Does that mean Ubisoft is going to release a skin pack that let you play as Jean ValJean? Lol the theatre nerd in me would be happy.

In regards to what to do about the clan - i have deliberately kept quiet about it because it just seemed to be confusing people but it has got to the stage where you need to push all the players into a room and sort it out once and for all and what is decided there is final.

For this group to move forward, the discussion needs to move out of just the space between Valentinus and Shadownet, and into perhaps even its own thread where we can all talk about what DestinyGAF should look like without the need for accusations and stuff. The path we're on right now is only going to lead to more dark places and will only split us apart more.

Only one raid at launch? That's pretty disappointing.. Hope they add more of them at a good pace.

If they would have looked at WoW they would have known that people blaze through these things.

There is no point. We don't yet know how sub-clans/groups or whatever is going to work.

I think y'all need to talk less about this shit, TBH. GAF guilds/groups/clans are casual as fuck, deal with it. If you want a try-hard clan, go join another.

This is not about wanting a try-hard clan, this is about not wanting the drama and continuing confusion and accusations to tear the current base apart. I'm willing to drop it if it bothers you that much.

Honestly, I'm starting to not care due to the constant flip-flopping and confusion.

I just want to have clarity regarding what's going on, and by not having a central discussion point, the confusion and drama will continue.
 
It seems like there's some confusion about the "one raid" thing because Bungie has deliberately chosen to call their raids "Strikes", with their "Raid" being something else altogether...some kind of ridiculously challenging end-game thing.

Stack of games, none I want to play now thanks to scumbag Bungie with their awesome game making abilities. The titles I am currently playing on and off are on snoozefest auto-pilot mode.

I'm finding myself making sharefactory videos, it's more entertaining to me right now.

There's no confusion. Strike is 3 players, Raid is 6.

No GameStop here but we have something similar, I still like WD.
I just can't bring myself to play it while thinking about Destiny, not to mention the weird 'no more than 6 hrs game time or u go nuts' thing.

I either have a massive jaw infection or have TN (nerve condition) in the jaw, either way it's chronic pain and I could do with a distraction.

And none of my other games work!

It's so ridiculous. I don't even care too much for FPS anymore but Destiny really worked for me. I can't get into anything else right now. Going to pick up UFC tomorrow but that'll just be a time-passer until the beta gets in my life.

Edit: Something I didn't care for too much was that when you're creating a character it didn't use a color wheel and instead had a preset selection of colors. It doesn't matter too much since you only have your helmet off at the hub but for a game that's about loot and being your own unique individual it disappointed me. Hopefully there'll be a decent selection of colors for when you dye your armor.

Yes that was disappointing, hopefully it was just an Alpha thing. We'll see.

Biggest issue I had with the creation tool was when you were picking your hairstyle you couldn't rotate the head! how am I supposed to see my do from different angles without that! :D haha it was pot luck when I got in-game if I liked it or not.

Character creator was garbage and felt tacked on. Hope the main release is better. Mostly pointless anyway since 90+% of the time you'll be in first person mode or seen with a helmet.

Sadly true :(

Faces looked real good up close in it though. Shame in-game you're so far away or covered by a helmet. Need to ask Bungie for a toggle for that like Mass Effect.

Exo faces are too damn cool to keep covered up imo.

I understand humans and maybe the Awoken needing helmets on other planets but yeah, Exos should be able to toggle on and off unless they have real organs or something biologically that I don't know of.

And yeah, you should be able to turn your character while you're creating it. Very strange oversight. I tried every button because I couldn't believe that wouldn't be an option.

There are so many questions I still have that can only be answered by playing the game. A lot of things that I want to know and want to try..

I really hope that I will get a beta access. How are those provided? Are you safe if you've used a pre-order beta code on the website?
 
Wow wtf happened here? Why is everybody hating on the gaf group? Because one guy made a chart that would encompass our psn id's for easy adding or what?

Some truly over the top responses itt now come on guys. The reason why there are a bunch of 'admins' for that group is just because its to be expected we have a lot of members and not everybody is online at the same time.

Right now a whole lotta people seem to misunderstand, all we wanted was for GAF to be able to be one big group. So if people see someone from DESTINYGAF in the world they would see like wow they have like 1000 members in this group or whatever.

The spreadsheet is just to make it easier to find people from your region and console. At least that's what I'm thinking. Not sure what people are getting upset about frankly. We arent saying gaf is gonna be a tight.clan and we are gonna day this and that, for me its basically just about the clan tag and being able to play with other people from GAF easier.

Not trying to bring up old cows but I wake up and look at this thread and was like wow :/.

I'm 98% sure you're safe if you've put in the code you received upon pre-ordering on the Bungie website. They'll send out an e-mail closer to beta with your beta download code from what I understand.

On a different note, I was thinking about Bungies awesome Alpha shirt and wondering if they're chuckling over there at all the commentary on the VA because they just knocked up that one mission on a Friday afternoon specifically for the Alpha and we'll never see it again.

Tends to happen in almost any community or group. You have a disagreement that escalates, people dig in heels and pick sides etc. Usually can get very heated quickly.

Swing by a number of communities where you'll see people become incensed if you insult their favorite player, their favorite pop star, whether you are discussing your favorite weapon, map, a certain game mechanic. Remember, on the Internet, everyone has to be right.

In the end, this can be a good thing because there has been greater discussion on what people want out of the clans, groups, and eventually people discuss it normally and come to some kind of an agreement. A big problem with social groups, clans type stuff is that after launch, it becomes in disarray and it really harms the experience. Just look at what happened to GTA V. As long as all this gets discussed and ironed out before launch, it's a good thing. Just remain civil, not insulting etc.

I remember I saw a trailer from E3 where they showed a room where all the players had to jump between disappearing platforms. It might have been a Raid or Strike.

Anyone know what trailer that was? I'm trying to find it.
