It's extremely popular here. Participation amongst kids is huge, but without viable academies, professional teams, etc... Kids turn to hockey or just drop the game. With 3 MLS teams and academiea, some D2 teams, and the creation of D3 pronvicial leagues, hopefully more kids continue to play and go pro.

The CSA (Canadian Soccer Association) ie /was a huge mess. There was never any ambition to be the best.
