The linesman who missed the two important calls in that game was dismissed. I guess the ref was given a pass as he was just trusting his assistants calls.

I think it would've been a very late whistle if he called the pen. after the Alg attack kicked the ball over the goal.

Yeah, I thing the referee was going for the advantage. They still had 2 chances at goal practically following the foul, so the call was not that bad.

One interesting thing about the SK team (in pretty much any sport) is the way they all play their hearts out. It's government policy that if they get atleast 4th place (or a bronze medal or w/e) they'll be exempt from the mandatory military service. It's a big deal for these guys.
