I just don't see Germany colluding again after the 1982 fiasco

They don't need collusion to get through and have no reasons to help the US team when every one knows they thoroughly outclass them.

Are y'all simply gonna ignore this whole match? It's not like we barely pulled off a fluke. We had a great performance. Our biggest obstacle will be our morale after this, but if Klinsmann manages to get players to play as aggressive as this game, we can easily get a draw.
Bradley and finishing problems aside, USA dominated the match.

We deserve to lose to Germany (plus, I don't have enough patience to wait until THURSDAY, lol)

We literally snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

everyone calm down
USA are still 99% safe
worst case scenario it comes down to GD and USA are pretty safe there
How? If it comes down to Goal differential the US are in the worst position possible. US is +1, Ghana is -1. If they lose to Germany and Ghana beats Portugal at best they would be EQUAL. At worst they would be out.

Would colluding with Germany be illegal? It would be hilarious to see players on both sides just working on their tans for 90 minutes.

I disagree our biggest obstacle will be double agent Bradley.

Greece will win this World Cup.

Germany - USA
Portugal - Ghana

If Germany and USA tie, they both past round. Germany first and USA second.

If Germany wins:

-If Portugal and Ghana draw, Germany 1st USA 2nd

-If Portugal wins depending of the numbers of goals, Germany 1st, USA/Portugal 2nd.

-If Ghana wins depending of the numbers of goals, Germany 1st, USA/Ghana 2nd.

If USA wins:

-If Portugal and Ghana draw, USA 1st Germany 2nd

-If Portugal wins depending of the numbers of goals, USA 1st, Germany/Portugal 2nd.

-If Ghana wins depending of the numbers of goals, USA 1st, Germany/Ghana 2nd.

An example of how USA and Ghana can go to the next round:

Germany 4 pts / +4 goals
USA 4 pts / +1 goals
Ghana 1 pts / -1 goals
Portugal 1 pts / -4 goals

USA 3 - 0 Germany
Ghana 3 - 0 Portugal

USA 7pts / +4 goals
Ghana 4pts / +2 goals
Germany 4pts / +1 goals
Portugal 1pts / -7 goals

So there's a fair chance here that the US can make it through, it seems...

Need to replace Bradley

Imagine if Ronaldo was fit. This would have been a 4-2.

The US is still in a decent position, provided Portugal doesn't collapse in front of Ghana. So go out and support your team until it's over.

But Germany will absolutely murder you.

If the USA doesn't qualify after being 10 seconds away from advancing, that could set soccer/futbol back 20 years in America. We're not good at dealing with failure in a worldwide sporting event like the English are. I commend the English on still being gung-ho about soccer after so much disappointment year after year

There was this history thing. I can't quite remember it.
Good luck, you have less of a chance than the rest of the Allies.

Just an aside, I hear a lot of Americans reference WW2 as if they were on their own side.
Maybe we could team up

I really did want the US to win though.

I feel like Germany is going to smoke the US. That goal is going to be on their minds the whole way through now, it's going to haunt them unless they do manage to advance to the round of 16.

I'd expect Germany to come out and try and smash the US, after the Ghana game they'll be wanting to prove something. Also Klose going for the record.

Sorry US, even though I'm a born and raised citizen, I support Germany in football. Thanks to the Fox Soccer channel for airing Bayern Munich games.
