First game on Thursday, same time as Germany/USA.
Going to be a crazy day.
US fans must be rooting for Portugal to win but not by 5 goals or whatever then, right?

Haha. <3Awwww, we aren't :'(
I don't get why NYC is getting another club tho
Get Miami in MLS again.
Or get Atlanta a club
They play in Jersey
ESPN lost the World Cup rights??? yessss their coverage is so fucking bad
Miami and Atlanta are both getting teams. Orlando too.
Atlanta got a club. 2017.
Atlanta is getting a club, they announced it a month or two back.
Kasey Keller too.
Hoping for USA + Ghana in the round of 16.
That'd be glorious.
Going to be a crazy day.

Is such a thing even possible at this point?

This is how we talk, ya' cunt.
Embrace it.
Close enough?
Well, okay. But their team name is the New York Red Bulls, I wonder if that will change when NYCFC starts up.
Too soon...lol.Cameroon 0-4 Brazil
Netherlands 2-3 Chile
Australia 1-1 Spain
Croatia 1-2 Mexico
Going to be a crazy day.

that feel when never experience such rivalriesBut the best football rivalries are the local ones.
Is such a thing even possible at this point?
It's for marketing purposes. They play in the same stadium as the Jets and the Giants.
What?!?!? Their coverage has been excellent.

come over to the American soccer thread to learn more about the league and game.
It's actually not that bad now. You could watch some European leagues if you want higher quality, but time zones makes that a pain.
Talk some sense into your friends though. Seriously.
Hand egg is my least favorite sport. Most boring piece of shit game ever. I'll never understand how it's so popular here.Welcome to football.
If you can't take it, stick to hand egg.
It would be nice if they did, but I think the #1 thing MLS needs to take into consideration for expansion is the ownership group.I hope Miami gets a mls team again. We had the fusion when I was working in NY, so I never got to go. I like having Beckham behind it though. Too bad the city doesn't want to give them a stadium. The Marlins ruined it for everyone. PEACE.
It's inevitable.
Disclaimer I have nothing to do with Mexico![]()
Even though I don't know where you are, I read this post in a Scottish accent and enjoyed it immensely.
No more Alexi Lalas and more Gus Johnson. (Who I like and I think has a great play by play style for soccer)
US beats Germany and Ghana wins and Ghana makes up the goal differential with Germany.
I might do that. It's been pretty fun following GAF threads this World Cup. When is the MLS in season anyway? I've never even seen it on TV while browsing channels or any commercials for it or anything.
Fox is gonna suck with their world cup coverage. ESPN went all out in their coverage and I don't see Fox doing the same.

Fox is going all out. They spent way too much on the rights not too.
It's a catch 22. Too few top foreign players, league suffers because talent level is lower and top players don't get better due to playing against stiff foreign competition. Skill level looks bad and the league perception suffers.
Too many, and you can't bring up as many players and get them trained in key roles.
But we have MLS and USL Pro and NASL, we're getting better and are growing the local talent pool.
Plus we're building our academies. MLS is only 18 years old. We have a ways to go but we're on the right track. People holding up "Why you no good as EPL" is laughable. We're clearly not. But they only have a hundred years if history on our 5th place sport.
Gus Johnson is bad right now, but he can be good w/ experience. At least he's got enthusiasm. Alexi Lalas has been at it for fucking ages and is still horrid.
wish the MLS would get rid of the playoff/conference/etc structure though. I get that they want it a bit Americanized and the supporters shield exists, but with the league expanding to a good amount of teams, playing every team twice is the best format imo. I guess distance makes that a bit tricky though.
Their coverage of non-USA stuff is actually decent (probably because they have a lot of legacy folks left over from when they had a lot more La Liga/Serie A/Bundesliga rights) but their coverage of USMNT is appalling.
Taylor Twellman, Alexi Lalas, and Ian Darke: the holy trinity of maximum cuntiness
I have a feeling Croatia will beat Mexico, as much as I don't want that to happen.
They do, and Lalas aside, I've really liked the Espn coverage. But Fox sucks.
But Fox sucks.
We can score more than one touchdown, USA USA.7-0 USA is my prediction
They haven't played there for years. They have their own stadium a few miles away.
Atlanta got a club. 2017.
