DestinyGAF Clan -> Request thread

First time I'm given an order in a game I'm out. There's suggestions and then there's "I own you". Lol.

Shouldn't be the case here. Hopefully. I don't tend to stand for that shit though.

There's not going to be any Captains & Commanders, there's only going to be Admins and assistant Admins for when the main Admins are away and such. I believe what Shadow was implying was just for titles. There will be no orders only adventuring with other fellow GAFers and bathing in the victory together as a family, socialize, exchange IDs, find your best Fireteam members and just enjoy your time on DestinyGAF. There will be specific threads for Strikes, Crucible, Raid and soon, Clan matches. Just choose whatever mode you prefer, find your Fireteam buddies, adventure, kill and come back to the Clan forum to share your stories and epic adventures, share your strategies(if you want to) with the other fellow Clan members. That's what this is all about.

Just like Valentinus said. When I said Commanders and Captains. I was just trying to find a couple of words that would fill those spots for the time being. There wont be any of that.

There will be some sort of Admin Leadership role, a secondary admin, and a group of admins to monitor stuff. That is all.

There MIGHT BE Captains for Strike Team, Crucible Team, etc. But those will be discussed as an entire DestinyGAF group at a much later date.

Personally I want no part in being a strike captain or anything like that. That should be left up to whoever has the most skills, leadership and many other qualities which I do not possess. All I wanna do is maintain this group so everyone can have a fun time :)

This will be needed to ensure there's no griefing, no dramas, no bullies in this Clan. Members are free to speak up on their displeasure over anything and we will hear you guys out and try to solve your situation, if any. Take a snack, drink up and stroll around the Clan's Forum, do things you like, just don't do any stuff that disturb others and we're GOLDEN.

Just requested to join DestinyGaf on Bungie.net. Can't wait to be a part of a new history/legend.

Shadownet, I think you should copy and paste that table to google doc and just post a link to the document, that way you don't need to post a picture every time you update the table.

^This. and for the love of god bud, don't post official stuffs about the Clan here until all Admins agreed to do so. Especially stuffs like this. This was supposed to be for our internal use as an easy access to the Members for their information on who to contact if they wish to play on specific time/platform.

If you join DestinyGAF in the alpha.Bungie.ney site? I think that group will not carry over to the actual game launch.

If you want to go www.Bungie.net go to group and find DestinyGAF. Request to join. And also PM Valentinus on here with your Bungie Display Name so he'll know who you are and add you to the group. And yes, then sit tight till Beta.
 
Thanks for the update yesterday. Things got weird kind of quickly. I'm glad they're being straightened out via bungie (as far as the merger of the two groups goes).

I'm just glad to be in a group organized enough to have a sub group for each version. It will make it easier to pay up that way.

I see that by pre-ordering Destiny PS4 bundle I get into the beta.....unfortunately, I can't play the beta because I won't have my PS4 until Destiny launches! And no other system to play it on either. lol. How odd.
 
So if I signed up for what was the Destiny GAF PS4 clan I'm good already?

I really hope non-GAF members won't be allowed on DestinyGAF, that was some bullshit about the other group, who the hell cares about playing with a gaffer's friend of a friend or a gaffer's husband/wife/gf, I might as well play with randoms then...

This is just groups on bungie.net atm. Official clans will come later. That's when more discussion will happen as to how to organize within.

Also, yes. The intention is for all members to be gaffers, and GAF members only.
 
I think everyone who is applying for DestinyGAF PS4 needs to apply for DestinyGAF instead. From the Bungie forum for this group:

*DestinyGAF PS4 will be disbanding sometimes soon. All members should migrate to DestinyGAF if they havent join yet. Admins of DestinyGAF PS4 and DestinyGAF. You guys will join forces very soon. Valentinus and I will talk to you guys later about that.*

That's right, once we have a clear Clan system, subdivisions/smaller clans will be created for specific platforms/specific time zones based on the Clan cap. This will all be under the Official Clan, DestinyGAF. Only GAFers are allowed into this Clan.

The beta is on all four platforms, if that's what you mean. When you preorder you get a code to redeem on Bnet that'll get you a code for a beta code on any platform later.

We are waiting on Bungie on the possibility of a merge to simplify the transfer. There will only be one Official Clan, DestinyGAF. Platform specific subdivisons/smaller clans will be created under this banner once the Clan system is release. Sit tight for now, we will make the announcement soon.

Btw Namikaze, we played together in the Alpha ;)

It's ok bro, I kind of get it when you didn't reply lol. I hope Bungie fix this NAT configuration problem that some people receive when they are in a Party Chat and of course other connection issues as well. You should accept my chat invitation then you can hear our strategy talk, it doesn't matter if you can reply or not. :)

Yeah, I realized that as soon as I saw your PSN ID. :)
Sorry for not accepting your chat invitation. My mic broke the Saturday of the alpha and due to being broke, I am unable to replace it yet. Oh and for the Fireteam as well. For some reason, I kept getting connection fail messages after every round in the crucible. It worked fine the first day but after that, I just kept getting that message even when my internet is more than fine.
Anyway, I applied just in case. Had applied to the PS4 one days ago.
 
I just joined the DestinyGAF group. I'm also using tilt controls!

Edit: Not sure if still need to follow forum instructions. GAF username same as Bungie/PSN IDs.
 
How do you guys feel about merging Central with Eastern and Pacific with Mountain? That way there are fewer groups to water down the community.

Personally i think it'll depend on clan sizes. The whole 'pacific, easter, central' time thing seems to be to find people to make your immediate squads at first. With your same time you'll have less issues with time discrepancies. Once clans are made if they're big enough we can probably boil them down to less zones.

I've gamed for over 20 years. I placed my very first pre-order for a video game last week.

I didn't even pre-order Lord of the Rings Online and I followed that game since 1998.

It's appropriate that the company that gave me Myth: The Fallen Lords would once again grab me with a new IP.

Can't wait. Glad to be a member of DestinyGAF.

If that is the case, Valentius should know I am a Hunter, we had a discussion about it in two of the Destiny Alpha threads.

If you want to apply to the DestinyGAF group you need to go to the DestinyGAF page in Bungie.net

And ask to join (top right I believe). Then post in the thread detailing your Bungie ID so we can recognize who you are and accept you. This is only the first step to have a GAF group and later on from there clans will form.

Couldn't tell you for sure. Not sure if Alpha members are already part of the DestinyGAF group. Click on the link and see if you're already a part when you log into Bungie.net. If not then apply. This is going to be the official DestinyGAF group.
