As far as Lyn goes, they did end up going with her for FE7's DLC character in Awakening, rather than Eliwood. Although she does have the excuse of being the tutorial campaign's protagonist, I guess, even if she is reduced to an unimportant speaking face in the main story afterwards.

Interesting! I always thought final smashes would be less intrusive in general if you could still use your standard special when having one. I like this change.

True but dlc that is designed around fan nostalgia and meant to be fan service is obviously going to pick the most popular characters, no one is gonna buy eliwood dlc outside of the hardcore who bought everything

We are getting more ALT.

These five costumes aren't the only ones we have been working on. We'll have plenty more costumes ready for the next release of Project M, as well as other small tweaks to costumes that were previously in 3.0. We just wanted to give you all a little preview of what's to come in that department -- look forward to more in the future!

Where is that Light ZSS alt from? I think I've seen Samus like that but I don't remember where, is that from the original Metroid ending?

Really wonder how she'd play more than anything. Snake-like, maybe? They did say it's easier to make characters if they can take animations from someone else.
 
So for fun if those 5 end up in project m who would be the base for their clone engine?

Sami = snake less bombs more guns
Lyn = ike more speed less power
Knuckles = sonic more power less speed
Skull kid = maybe zelda with no transformation
Isaac = ness/lucas or maybe link/tlink, heck you could argue for pit too

Obviously based upon how different they made mewtwo play from his clone engine partner lucario I'm not too worried about them feeling samey, but at least knowing who is the foundation gives us some idea of what to expect
 
I'm honestly excited for all those characters, but Lyn.. Unless she has a really great moveset.

I can't wait for the future, since it seems like it's looking very likely. :3
