i don't want to wait three minutes to know if the free throw, foul, pass, free kick or all the possible things who can happen in a game and are subject to interpretation was correctly judged or not. There's so much things who can be interpreted either way that's not worth it. A simple free throw could lead to a goal. What if the free throw was accorded to the wrong side? We need to trust the referees and keep the highest skilled one.
Video ref is just a mess who is incompatible with football.

I'm not talking about any of those things. It's up to the ref if he wants video or not anyway, so it's not like the game will be stopped for every decision. Just ones he couldn't see (like this handball). Surely, wrong decisions are less likely to happen with video refs? Why would a free throw be given to the wrong side with a video ref and not a regular ref? This is just nonsense.

I don't understand the hate for sudden death in general. NBA it wouldn't make sense because points are scored so frequently.

But soccer or football, hockey, etc? Why not? You have 60-90 min to settle the game. Extra time then added until a winner is determined.

Golden Goal is awesome. Wish it returned

No

A) FIFA thought it would encourage positive play in extra time, but it really only led to teams parking the bus because they would much rather take it to penalties than definitely lose by conceding a goal.

B) It's such a back-breaking way to lose. Even pens have some sort anticipation to them, one moment of weakness and its a wrap in golden goal. Which leads back to point A. Teams would rather take their chances in the crapshoot known as penalties

When they had sudden death, the extra time turned into cautious war of attrition.

Can't believe the amount of energy these people have, it's +26c and the humidity is 73%

I'm physically exhausted and I'm just watching this game from a bench.
