Spartan Titan: "I don't know how to wear a cloak like the cool Hunters do."
*Sticks it in his pocket and lets it hang out a bit*

but seriously, that looks really cool

Do Titans have more armor?

If not they should have, because unlike the other two (candy-ass) classes, their special puts them right in the thick of the fire if they hope to do any damage.

It's not fair that everyone gets ranged power bombs and Titans have to play like either idiots, or wussing out of most chances to use their super because of how exposed it leaves them.
Don't Titans get a couple of seconds of invulnerability while using their super? Could have sworn I've read that somewhere.

Hey guys, I decided to look through all the stuff Bungie has put out recently to see if I could find some easter eggs or hints regarding the beta. I think I found something on that huge picture of Old Russia that Dax posted here.

Looks like some graffiti on the Wall or something like that;

Huh. I can't quite make out what it says, but I do hope it isn't too offensive.

;)

Or hunters are color blind. Sounds more likely.

Or the other way around, Titans/Warlocks are slow AND color blind.

Anyone still put the Alpha on from time to time to check just to be sure it's off!? (Also the menu music is great too), please say it's not only me... I know I have a problem but I don't want to be the only one... :)

It took 10 minutes taking down that walking spider tank, there wasn't anything fun about it. At all. How are they going to make bosses fun?

Once you know how to take him out a team of people can do it in < 4 mins

It's really fun to work together and draw his fire while systematically taking apart his armor.

The boss battles feel more like waves of enemies like in firefight mode.

I love that btw.

Yes, I do it daily. It's always :) when seeing the menu and :( when servers are offline.

Not much longer until the beta though.

So don't play with those people?

Ah, yea you're probably right, will have to join a guild or something then.

But here's a question, the content, is it dynamic? Or will we end up having to farm something like that spider tank over and over? Guess people will like that, I would just die of fatigue if I had to do something like that in an FPS.

You misspelled sucks
Hunter for life!

Are the classes really that different? I played the heavy dude, can't remember what class, he had a gun and could punch hard, well, reduce damage by melee until cooldown cycled.

I couldn't really tell who was what by looking at other players, they all looked the same, robocop space people.

Fights where you don't use proper tactics are hard and long. Seems like the system is working as it should.

Oh I saw the need for "tactics", it was just all so soul crushingly boring, I couldn't even be arsed to get my mic, none of my teammates did so either, we just stood there, wailing on the things, every now and then ducking.

And the harder the game got, the more it became like Warframe, what's new here? I don't get it, what's the value proposition?

Why are people so desperately trying to push Destiny meems? Why does all the hype around this feel shallow and manufactured?

Just this loud inaudible chorus, foaming at the mouth, just going crazy for this game, then a couple of weeks after release, gone, everything gone, just like Titanfall, just like Brink, just like a lot of shit passing these halls.

Hunters have cloaks (hoods and capes). Precise and agile. Resemble western bounty hunters.
Warlocks have robes/trenchcoats. Has best recovery for using magic. Space wizards.
Titans have armor with a dash of cloth. Deals damage and takes lots of it. "Robocop space people".

If you didn't see the game's value by playing the alpha, then this probably isn't a game you'll like when it comes out in full. You win some, you lose some.

Lastly, "loud" AND "inaudible"? I'm not sure English works like that. What do you mean, exactly?

Lol. Okay. I think you feel a lot more strongly about this than the people who are doing the so-called "manufacturing" of hype. And please point me in the direction of these Destiny memes besides the wizard coming from the moon. And please also explain the tactics of the Devil Walker tank fight. I'm not sure what you mean by "stood there waiting on the things".

I just can't shake this feeling that Destiny was a bad fucking idea, and to see a bunch of people getting exited over it just freaks me right the hell out. Same feeling I had about Brink I've got now.

It really bothers me because Bungie fucking owns, this game just feels *wrong*

If you don't like the community then I can understand that angle. To be honest, the Destiny fanbase at large already tremendously rubs me the wrong way, and were it not for experiencing the game myself, I'd be completely apathetic about it as a result.

But if you played the alpha and didn't like it, perhaps it's just not for you, and there's nothing wrong with admitting that. I'd at least give the Beta a try, and if it's the same at that point then that's the way it is.

I'm not denying that the game has faults (some more glaring than others), but it's not difficult to see what is making people excited. I could list it out if you're still uncertain, but you seem to have a more fundamental issue with the game and if that's the case I don't think it'd be worth your time for you to convince yourself otherwise.

So you think it's going to turn out to be rubbish?

Before the alpha there were loads of concerned voices here, but most of us have played it now and it's really rather special indeed.

Pre order and play the beta. Sure it'll win you over.

Yea I'm definitely with you on that one, trying out the later releases will probably change things for me, guess that's why it felt "wrong", very early build stuff.

Just don't like not liking games that are supposed to be liked.

I usually like them :(

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm very much bothered that you enjoy a game I don't. If you could, please cease and desist with your excitement and forget about your enjoyment of Destiny. Why it bothers me I have no idea; I guess I'm just talking nonsense."

I don't think that's what Sandy is saying. It's more where I found myself with Destiny prior to playing the alpha. There's tremendous hype and anticipation surrounding it, but the more you see of it and the more excitement gets thrown around, the more it turns you off because you don't see it. You want to like it, or perhaps you feel like you have to like it because everyone else does, but you just don't. Maybe Sandy just doesn't get it (and that's largely Bungie's fault), but it's just as likely that it's not Sandy's kind of game.

It's one reason why I left the Bungie forums. At one point, it was impossible to criticize or "dislike" Destiny without being labelled a troll.

Pretty much.

He/she doesn't have to read the thread if it bothers him/her so much for whatever reason. Let people enjoy what they like. Coming in the thread to say that it bothers you that people are excited for a game isn't at all productive, and, frankly, annoying.

You want to like it, or perhaps you feel like you have to like it because everyone else does, but you just don't.

But you don't have to have to like it. Feeling like you HAVE to like something because of other people's opinions is some next level insanity.

Providing a logical explanation helps too.

Exactly what Zoba said. Also I thought this was a general gaming discussion forum? Not fanbase island vacuum city thread 3000, if I have a feeling about a game, I'm sure as shit going to say it in that game's thread to get responses from champs like Zoba.

Right, but that doesn't give you permission to troll, which is what you're doing. If you don't like the game that's fine, but coming in here saying people SHOULDN'T like the game, and that it actually bothers you that people do like it, is nonsense.

So you want responses from people who agree with you or understand you, but get defensive to responses from people who disagree or don't understand why you're making such a big deal over perceived hype.

If your main example is this thread, by the way, I'd like you to check the thread title once more.

All the "hype" in this thread is us being on topic.
