I'm a black male, 40...175lbs. Fit, average looking...who has grown up in the USA watching the likes of Phoebe Cates, Alisa Milano, Joannie...Bo Derek... (sorry for mis-spelling the names)

I've been conditioned to be attracted to women outside my race. Yet, the women outside my race see me first as a color, and not as a man. Sure, there are exceptions...but I'd say that about every 1 out of 10 non black women you see on the street would seriously consider going on a date with a black man.

And I don't think it's wrong for it to rub me the wrong way. (mind you...I don't blame or fault women for having preferences. This is just a bitch fest.

Edit: Wanted to stress that I posted this simply because over the weekend ANOTHER woman that I asked to go out specifically pointed out that one of the two reasons shewouldn't go out with me was because...
1) I'm 40 (and she's 32)
2) I'm black

Now, I don't fault her for having bullet points that I don't hit. I have them too.

It just rubbed me the wrong way.

also i've never been able to get a date with a black woman for what it's worth.
 
Maybe you're looking in the wrong places? I would assume 40 and dating within your age group makes you incredibly desirable unless you're an insufferable douche.
 
Than try dating in your race? Dating is a numbers game, and you're playing with an amputated foot if you're not dating within your race. Yeah your social conditioning isn't really an excuse either.
 
its kinda easy to blame it on the skin color than anything else.

being attracted to somebody and going on a date have so many variables, i think its way too easy to say smth like that without giving us more details about your dating life
 
So you only want to date white women, but then get upset when white women don't want to date black men.

I guess it depends on where you stay, because it's pretty much more common seeing Afro American Males dating White Females than seeing Black Males dating Black Females, where I live. I live in Detroit, MI btw.
 
1. Don't think like that.

2. If it's that much of a problem move to a different area. Try living in a more liberal city with lot's of diversity.

3. Friends and acquaintances. Cold approaching only works in certain circumstances and I'd guess if the white women in your area aren't that into black guys then you are really going to have a hard time with online dating/meeting random people in bars/clubs. You should probably be a known variable before asking them on a date. Friends of friends, etc.

4. There are a lot of foine black women dude. C'mon man! This thread is too ironic! (edit: dang it -- beaten!)
 
Based on the stats you gave us there is no reason why you would have trouble finding someone of any race that you would like.

I wonder if you tend to be negative .. is your vibe you put out more on the negative tone? That might be more of the turn off than any part of your body.

Just throwing out ideas.. because on paper there is no reason you should have trouble. It will happen, just keep at it and be positive!
 
Son you're saying that you're sick of the people you're attracted to based on their skin color aren't attracted to you for the same reason?

Move to the UK, i.e. London. I see so much black and white couples all the time now. Funny, I travelled to New York last Christmas and was stunned at just how few interracial couples around in the city. I always pictured America as being more ahead in such regards due to their history, but left shocked just how behind you guys are.
 
How's your career? Are you working a dead end job? Do you have a car and your own apartment at least. Rental is fine.

Also, what's wrong with black women? I don't have any preferences about race, but the black women I've dated all have been pretty cool.

But self hate is not going to get you anywhere. It comes off as whiny and whininess is unattractive.
 
Maybe your age is a bigger factor. The pool is more limited the older you get and younger women start to see you as maybe too old I'd imagine.

I mean, you say this is the no.1 reason girls wont date you, but maybe its because you're 40 years old and only average looking? I suppose if you're talking about women your own age, it might be closer to the truth, though. You're probably a bit unlucky being born when you were, cuz I don't see this trend as much as with girls my age and younger.
 
I live in Boston and 95% of the women I date are white...because most of the women here are white. What are the demographics of your city? Are you being realistic in your pursuits (you have to have a lot going on to be 40 and try to date some 22 to 25 year olds)? Where do you try to meet women?

You're really going to have to post pics for us to judge.
 
Don't limit yourself to one race, you are missing out.
