GAF I need your help

Germany being my favorite team, France being my second favorite, I am going to miss the 9:00 am Match Friday morning... I will be on the road (as a passenger) to New York, from Toronto...

Here's the shitty part, I have lots of data to spare on my phone, and I could easily watch it on my phone... right? but no!

by the time game starts I would already have crossed the border to US...So I cannot even use my Canadian Rogers data, I will get screwed up the arse with AT&T Roaming, I can only imagine that phone bill...

So anyone out there, have any suggestions? How can I watch the match live in the car while traveling in the US? could I like buy a sim card with a data plan for my iphone 4 from Buffalo, Niagara falls, or something?

If all else fails radio isn't too bad IMO. I've had some awesome times listening to radio matches of exciting games in the car, of course the announcer has to be good.

Thank you! :D

They faced each other 3 times at previous WCs. France won the Third Place match in 1958 (6:3). Germany won twice in the semis 1982 and 1986.

The 1982 semi-final was quite memorable. France led 3-1 in extra time but Germany managed to score the 3-2 and even equalize with a bicycle kick. They won it at penalties in the end.

WOWOW \o/ thank you Zhao_Yun!

I love getting me some context before an exciting match up :D It will play at 2 am here, Australian Eastern Standard Time, and I will stay up and watch :D

WOW to go back from a 3-1 position and then to win it!!! Man, that would have been something to watch / be a part of!!!

You would have also seen attempted murder being committed right before your eyes. Makes Suarez's actions look like a joke in comparison.

this guy was so bad in the Germany game. if you watch him, whenever he gets the ball, all he does is run around in circle of it, then passes it back. THAT"S ALL HE DOES.

he doesn't pass it forward, doesn't try to dribble. get a touch, and pass. done

Yeah but check out his wife

:OOOOOOOO

.... i will have to sit and watch this tonight after work :O

For anyone else wondering what this was about.

Battiston would eventually be stretchered from the field and require oxygen after a hit that knocked out two teeth, cracked three ribs, and left the French player with a damaged vertebrae. Battiston didn’t regain consciousness for 30 minutes and eventually slipped into a coma.

That was a pretty fucked up world cup by us (Germany). First that scandalous game in Gijon against Austria and then Schumacher's assassination attempt in the Semi-final.

Those games were the reason my dad stopped watching football for a very long time.

I'm glad we have a much more sympathetic team right now. Although they may lack the killer instinct of their predecessors.

so he's an american Selcuk Inan.

So maybe posted in here but Mauricio Pinilla the guy who missed the final penalty for Chile got some interesting ink done. And yes sadly this is real. What a fucking moron. I don't even find the "Blessed" "For Life" tattoos on his friggen face to be the worst part, but the "centimeter from glory" tagline is the funny part. Someone remind this guy it was the round of 16 and not the cup finals. Glory lol. So embarrassing.

Well, he's there to destroy the opponents play, not create tho. Basically: stick a leg out, be rough, be a foul magnet, run a lot and prevent good play from others. Some coaches love players like him.

The entire Chile squad had some of the worst tattoos I've ever seen. Some dude had the Jordan symbol on his neck. They all looked like d-bags.

This guy is a tit. All he does is foul, he is de jong without talent.

Damn, as an American I have to agree with both of these assessments. For me the worst player on our side except for perhaps Bradley. (Bradley is a much bigger disappointment because I've seen him play quite well over the years. He's totally fucking up this WC though.)

Beautiful wife, though.

Yah Vargas lol. I think he has the Nike logo on him too but might be someone else. The team has some really bad ink. These kinds of tattoos are popular in Chile among certain groups.

Sometimes you need a player that does that. Sits in the midfield and offers a good tactical foul here and there and looks to break up a move or two. England could have done with Gareth Barry -- they tried to play Jordan Henderson in a role like this and it was a colossal failure. The fact that Germany were pressing so hard didn't help Beckerman though. Usually a player might have a little more time to decide what happens next.

Bradley was good when I saw him at roma, he hasn't been great this WC but I think some of the shit he gets is ott compared to beckerman who has no discernible talent aside from kicking people.

Atlanta Braves just announced they are opening Turner Field early so people can watch the match on the big screen before the game!

Pinilla was the guy who hit the crossbar just before extra time was over. He failed to score his penalty as well I think when he was first to take for Chile. Not the same guy that missed the final penalty.

Bradley has been godawful. He has been, by far, the worst player on the pitch in 2 of our 3 games and in the other had a massive giveaway (I can forgive the ball being cleared off the line although he really should have scored there).

Beckerman has a 90.2% pass completion rate and has recovered nearly 5 balls a game. He has 7 tackles which is tops on the US and also has 7 interceptions. I want my defensive midfielders to foul. Break up the game, stop a move if you need to. He's actually had 1 less foul than Bradley and Jones btw (they're on 7, he's on 6). Not a great player by any means, but within his role, he has been very effective.

Really? I thought it was that Zusi guy, dude was constantly fuckin' up and making awful passes.

Zusi has been nowhere close to the worst player on the team. The guy plays solid both ways. He has been decidedly mediocre (meaning not fucking up) and has several assists.

Bradley is either by his own choice or from instruction by klinsmann just covering too much ground. You can't play box to box in this heat.At the end of the group stage Bradley had ran the most of all players and they played in some of the hottest weather. I think Bradley would be better suited to play deeper and not have to attack as hard. He has been the most effective with long passes it seems.

Are you confusing him with Beckerman? Zusi isn't an amazing player by any means but he has been more or less solid in his role. In addition, he assisted both the winning goal against Ghana and Dempsey's goal against Portugal.

Probably posted. South Korean team being "welcomed" back to South Korea:

Oh damn, the 엿 먹어 shade. It has a somewhat interesting history.

They did their best, but this is the worst WC team Korea has fielded in decades. Son, Lee Chung-Yong, and Ki Sung-Yueng are bright spots in a sea of mediocrity. They have strong youth talent though, so I expect a good showing from them in Russia.

Rooting for the Red Devils tomorrow, and all my hope is riding on Courtois. Belgium has never lost a game with him as keeper, plus he hasn't let in any non-penalty goals this entire tournament. That said, I'm a little scared of USA's team. If the game is taken to penalties, I think the US could take it.

Either way, should be an exciting game! I'll be in the only person in Los Angeles tomorrow wearing the Belgian colours.

Oh man I d love to see Belgium and the Netherlands duking it out in the half finals. Anyone who knows how intense the low countries' derbies are should know it would be epic.
Belgium wili need to play more confident to get there but its possible.
