Given what I know of Cara and Zoe's backgrounds, I doubt either would have made it past the HR cull before resumes were passed on to Jeff. Cara would have been disqualified for the visa issues, and Zoe doesn't have the experience, as far as I know.

Now, I'm not saying that's what happened, but there are extremely valid reasons why neither was hired.
 
If Dan and Jeff don't start a video series called 'Danime' where they take a look at the newest releases in the world of Japanimation then something went horribly wrong somewhere.

Like Breaking Brad, its a title too good to not use.

Many of these uber-liberal "feminists" are muddying these sorts of debates and blatantly speaking out of their depth. I'd be quite embarrassed to yell some of the things they do with my real name attached to the timeline.

What are they really calling for? There *might* be a minority personality out there that could fit with the GB crew, but Jeff and co. could have talked with a league of them and still found Dan and Jason to be the best guys for the job.

Diversity is obviously welcome if it comes naturally, but forcing the issue to fulfil some sense of social deed would be a totally pointless and misguided thing to do. And calling anyone at GB racist is just beyond stupid.

That's very kind of you, thanks. And apologies if I've been slightly cunty towards GB mods in a few posts. Over the last year or two, there seems to have been quite a bit of nastiness, manifesting as sexism and harassment, on the forums/chat that didn't end up on the receiving end of an iron fist. However, judging by the things Rorie has mentioned recently, you guys are becoming more pro-active on that front.

This is a very dangerous viewpoint because it allows negative feedback loops to perpetuate. Saying "Well, it's not happening on its own, so I guess it's just meant to be this way" is not cool. It just dodges responsibility.

All I'm saying is that Jeff isn't obligated to make those sorts of choices if they don't align with what he deems important for the site. If there was a scenario where he chose a woman over Dan despite not favouring her as a personality for their content, and did so expressly for the cause of winning social brownie points, that would be absurd. Again, it has to be natural.

I agree with your sentiment with respect to larger social issues but on this scale and in this context, it's not something that fits so neatly.

No problem. I'M cunty towards GB mods. It's a tricky balance and it's a part time commitment from all of us and as much as people might think, it's not the most important thing in our lives. However, we are continuing to band together to make the forums a better place and free from jerks. We are all humans tho' modbot is only a pipe-dream on GB... :(

i wonder how far patrick is gonna go with 1001 spikes. if he stops at ukampa i understand. if he get through antarctica i am impress.

i wish there was more love for that game :( i wanna talk about it more but the OT for it is a wasteland.
