On a more serious note, Team US did well. A lot of good matches, Howard was outstanding during this WC and, while you were the lesser team during 90 minutes, your boys made a GREAT effort during the extra time. All in all, a great showing.

I can only hope some of the people in the US can finally understand how thrilling and beautiful this sport can be. And yes, it can also be heartbreaking at times and awfully boring at others... but in the end, the good more than makes up for the bad.

The Belgians were by far the better team for the first 105 minutes, so they deserved it. But that American heart in the last 15 minutes, that fucking HEART! Thought I was going to have a heart attack.

Team USA did pretty good. Not only during this match. The USA matches were among the more entertaining ones during group stage I have seen.

It's a young team with a lot of potential. I can see them compete seriously in 4 years as long as they keep investing in this sport.

Ref's discretion. I believe they have a stopwatch that they flick on whenever they notice a substantial stoppage in play, and whatever that adds up to at the end of the game is typically what they add on. Every ref's application of extra time is different, though.
