Congrats Belgium! Well played, US. Last fifteen minutes were really exciting.

Tbf USA x3 is a pretty shitty chant.

Not as bad as whistling when not in ball possession.

Or vuvuzelas.

But still.

This fucking grinds my gears. Don't know about other games, but the couple I watched with Chile were especially bad.

Hope you guys stick around for the rest of the tournament by the way.

And there's also two season long round football OTs in community; an MLS one and a more Euro-centric one (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, based League One, SPL, and Bundesliga with special guest appearance by Russian league)

Feel free to pop into either if:

* you already follow football and didn't know they were there
* were too afraid to join in because of cliques or in jokes
* want to start following club football and have any questions
* want to join in afer dark where we regularly discuss my asshole and play 90s disco pop (cannot speak for the MLS thread in this regard I have no idea whether they talk about my brown pipe or not)

This tournament has been fantastic. No way am I not watching just because the US is out. Also I will be lurking in the football threads. I am too afraid my complete lack of knowledge will be apparent if I open my mouth.

It's probably still too focused on the Prmier League except for Blablurn.

:lol, probably. Got a fair few regular Madrid and Barca fans, and dark_prinny was a delight to see posting through Atleti's run last season.

We even have Bradford and Coventry fans

And a wonderful collection of Juve and Milan fans

And Suen

You realize i don't care ? Also the over patriotism of americans annoys me, and not just in football. Actually the football side of it is the less annoying part of it.

I'm just happy to see the USA dreams crushed by Belgium.

I'm assuming when you mean "patriotic" you mean wanting to do things our way...if so, fair point.

But if you are annoyed by Americans being patriotic by supporting America, well, the gif applies.

I live with an avid Chelsea fan so I basically watch any game that I can wake up to. Might as well join you guys. If I ever talk shit about Chelsea though, just know that its because he's annoying me.

Puto on set pieces is also pretty fucking shitty. no place in international football

Lol sorry we actually support our team? Its actually really refreshing to have our country united over something.

I love how people are getting upset over usa fans supporting their team.

It's the world cup.

The one time you can properly support your country in a worldwide event, in a friendly occasion. (Olympics isn't the same to me)

Keep on USA'ing bros.

Sad but proud of our boys.

Hope to join football(soccer)GAF for the upcoming season. The sport really is something else. I first caught the bug when I watched 2010 in mexico and 2012 in Spain. But this cup has solidified my love of the sport. You euros and south Americans win

Can't get too mad but Belgium outplayed us. Congrats to all the gaffers from there. Hope you guys do well.

You took my Kaka ;__;

Tim Howard was called MVP by the FIFA, at least you have that USA

None of this even matters if you can't play in prime time. I appreciate the job he did helping the U.S. qualify, but if you can't perform when it matters the most you have no business playing for the national team.

If it wasn't for Bradley's shitty passes, we wouldn't have kept giving possession back to Belgium. He came alive in the last 15 mins when the threat of exiting early became real.

Ha. Bradley was far from the worst player on the US squad. Jones/Dempsey/Zusi looked worse today than he did. Bradley was almost always the man leading the attack with his runs and passes down the side to Yedlin. And you can always count on him to run back to aid on defense.

Man, that was one seriously tense game. Definitely the best one I've seen so far. Really happy we won.

The Americans had one hell of a goalkeeper though. Tell Obama to give that guy whatever he wants, make sure you keep him!
How many saves did Howard have on the game? Only stat I saw was like 35+ shot attempts by Belgium which is ridiculous.

So USA bros, which teams are you now gonna root for?

Ah, I'm glad you asked. Any team...ANY EFFING TEAM that plays a European team.

Guess that means I'm going for Brazil (most chance of beating more Europeans), and France...well, because eff Germany.

Hehe, I'm loving world cup this year.

Sure as hell will. You guys seem awesome. Just don't go too hard on us...

Can't fault you for it, but your hope in BRA is strong after that performance. COL has BRA in the crosshairs.

All I want is 2 COM x UEFA semis and Brazil to win it all in the end, but I'm not sure about the final.

Bra x Arg would be the promised final. Fucking spectacular. But I fear for the security of supporters from both squads and of course I wouldnt want You guys forever messing with us by winning the WC in our home turf lol...

On the other hand, BRA x NED is always fun, also Scolari and Van Gaal have been clawing at each other since the begging of the tournament.

Agreed, fucking salavating over that game. And if Brasil get to the final (certainly no guarantee with them having to play the team of the tournament, Coloumbia) I think Germany despite their lack of speed at the back are the only team IMO who won't buckle under the pressure. I do think France can do them though.
Great WC, loved it ever since England were out, since I can relax and just enjoy the football.

I would like to see Brazil talking on Germany while Argentina clashing with Netherlands. But France, and Colombia won't make it easy for Germany, and Brazil. Gonna be an interesting and exciting week.

Man, you really should be worried about Colombia, those fuckers are not messing around :p

Seeing Dempsey after Wondo came in makes me wonder if they would have been better off having Wondo start and dumping Zudi the whole time after Altidore was hurt.

BRA x ARG would be the match we all deserve. The passion alone from the fans will be palpable. You know both teams would love to win the cup; but, both teams would love it more to win the cup defeating the other.

Zusi was the worst player on the U.S. side today. Bradley and Jones were about tied in their suckiness., but Bradley has easily been the worst player overall for the U.S. in the world cup. There isn't even a close second overall.

I'll say it again..

US fans, support the MLS if you expect us to do better in 4 years.

TV, Merch, Tickets, etc.. = Money going into Academy's and growing the league to improve the quality.

The season is in week 17 and players like Dempsey, Yedlin, Bradley etc.. will be returning.

Hey, thread-title-changing mod:
It should be "in all its glory," not "in all it's glory."

Unless the grammatical error was on purpose/in reference to something, I don't know.
