You're all wrong, French accent is le plus beau.
More seriously though, I'm a bit ashamed about my Dutch/Flemish understanding. In fact I understand shit despite the fact that I live at the border.
And why does some Belgians keep speaking flemish when they see I'm lost is beyond me, especially when I hear them speak french as soon as I turn my back. I guess I made my way to Troll City
They do? Usually we start talking french fast if we notice someone tries, but has a hard time.

But yeah, nationalist pricks are on the rise. Gives us a bad name too. Consider this an apology.

That nationalist nonsense is surrealistic even. Guy in my street hangs the flemish flag al year, has VL as landcodesticker on his car, in stead of the official b for belgium, but now has a massive tricolore hanging. Dudes can't even bz consistent. Makes you wonder how elections would have turned out if WC was held in may

Its sad..

With Soccers slow growth in America unlike ever before its as if the gods have decided to stick a knife in its belly.

If we had won a WC bid, and won last night, it would have caused an explosion. Now, while not stagnate, its back to a snails pace of growth I'm betting :(

Fixed it for you.

Seriously though it would be nice to get what should've been the final in 98. The dutch had a great team that year and only lost to Brazil in the semis on penalties. Plus, as a gamer, Blue vs Orange is just pure awesomeness.
Ugh, don't remind me of '98. The Dutch trauma continued regarding penalty kicks. We got thrown out during the EC in '96 by you guys (Llama damnit, Seedorf :( ) and in '98 after beating Argentina we were so close... I think it would have been a pretty even match between our two teams. It should have been the final as well during EURO 2000. But again... penalty kicks...

Seriously, Davids and Kluivert both missing was horrible.

We're talking about players who would struggle to get into a second division side in England. So yes, they were fantastic. They were playing against world class European players and put in some brilliant tackles and interceptions.

Belgium dominated the game and earned their win fair and square, but the US did brilliantly. Their players were so inferior talent-wise but they did enough to win the game if Wondolowski had scored. Chelsea won a Champion's League playing worse football that the USA last night.

As unattractive but not worse. There is a difference.

Di Maria got out of jail with his goal.
His wastefulness outweighed his good contributions to the attack yesterday, that attempt at a rabona leaves me speechless.

Messi was great again, hoping Argentina do it now (mainly because I have them in a sweepstake...)

I am really sad US is knocked out - the hype was awesome. Still can't stop thinking about the possible goal in the 93rd minute. That would have crashed GAF and been crazy.

A Shancez? Why? Put Muller or Neymar in that spot.

Also, Cuadrado from Colombia needs to be in there somewhere.

Let's keep politics out of this thread.

Sanchez has been better than both of them; he was the best player on the pitch against Brazil. Neymar had a good first half and was poor for the rest of it. He was also poor against Mexico, whereas Sanchez has been good in all of Chile's games.

Cuadrado has been brilliant, but I don't think he's been better than Sanchez, Rodriguez and Robben. If I fit him in then the rest of the team is lopsided; this is legitimate m8, not just fucking throw players ANYWHERE

This happens all over Europe (the World) to everyone. I guess they think it's better to say something and hope you understand at least something than stay quite. Never understood why they at least don't speak slower and only use rudimentary words rather than speaking as fast as possible

The next world cup will look amazing, saw a HBO sports documentary and the designs looked cool!. It looked like it was the year 3045.

I know, I know. I guess I just didn't see what you saw in Sanchez in this WC. I'd actually place all 3 I mentioned before him. :)

Crashed GAF? My bet would have come up and I'd have won £400. I'd have probably burnt my house to the ground celebrating.

Would rather have no penis than have to show his to a medical professional
the FIFA team for the 1/8 finals. Three players of Belgium in the squad. And off course Rodriguez <3

Yeah I've seen some stuff about it, does look pretty cool. The winter olympics looked really good, and was hosted well.

Still annoyed about the next one though, the best example of why FIFA are just wanting a few back handers. Give it to Russia when England were part of the same bid, the country with the best league and some of the biggest club teams in the world, some of the best stadia and some which were great but could be so much better with funding for renovation. Would have been amazing, plus we're not in the middle of huge political/humanitarian issues (Russia might sort that within the next 4 years, hopefully, but you know...)

Obviously not too happy about the US result, but I am happy that we got out of the group stage. Most of our athletes are clearly not as talented as Belgium's (though we're better than 4 years ago), but I thought even with the talent gap, we had a decent shot even up until the end. Quite a few shots on goal in extra time that if they'd gone in could have taken it to a shoot out. So I'm happy with the way the US went out, could have gone out with a whimper but instead it was a nailbiter right to the end.

Was exciting to see Julian Green come in and score on his first touch. He's going to be awesome for us in 4 years. There's quite a few that were brought in by Klinsmann and didn't get a chance to play, or are just too young to start, so I'm curious what we look like at the Gold Cup, Olympics, and beyond.

I'd guess at this point in the WC it's going to get down to Germany or Brazil against hopefully Costa Rica. Netherlands will be tough though.

Read today the ball used in 2010 was the reason Spain won as it fit their play perfectly . The ball was extra floaty in the air and caused havoc during long balls and crosses. Essentially van persie's header in first game wouldnt have happened with that ball in 2010

Not sure if it's been posted yet but some footage from Soldier Field in Chicago where they showed the game in front of thousands.

'I believe that we will win' is the worst thing to happen to football.

You can tell which one was the reaction to the 93rd minute miss lol.

That ball was absolute shit. Flying everywhere. It's one of the main reasons not as many goals were scored last time besides Spain.
