It's been 3 weeks since we uncovered a trailer pointing to the existence of the playable character Palutena. Since that day we have been exploring in the vain hope of finding out further details but alas, any information on the green-haired goddess have proven elusive.

Supplies are running low and we've lost several team members to the perils of the PotD jungle already. Sir Jeremy sacrificed himself so that we could escape when a wild pink-jumpsuit boxer ambushed us from the undergrowth and Lady Derrington fell to an arcane trap that left her in the vacuum of space with 2 other characters who seemed undaunted by the lack of oxygen.

Our only hope is that we can find something relating to the secretive deity before the remaining members of the group are lost, or worse; our dwindling food supply leads to a most desperate solution for alternative sources of sustenance...

Alright I loled.

So basically we must wait until a character is revealed.
Or maybe the next event....

Melee had Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo.
Brawl had Meta Knight, Dedede, Wario , and Wolf.
This one hasn't had any yet. Who is it going to add? Dark Pit seems likely, even though Hades is the best Ninty villain in years.

a) The lil' sandal type things Mimicuties wear have nasty looking spike wing things on them. Might explain why they do such horrendous amounts of damage when they kick you :3

Well they can't be that young if they are a Mewtwo fans. If one assumes they are American, they got Pokémon R/B in 1998 which is 16 years ago. If we assume the minimum age of playing it is three then the youngest they'd be today is 19. We're talking young adults here still crying over Mewtwo in the year 2014. Get over it people. Better Pokémon have been introduced like Ludicolo and Stunfisk so Mewtwo really isn't that big of a deal these days.

Also, someone said something a while ago about Ganondorf (Ganon) needed a second rep since both Link and Zelda have 2 choices. Personally, I'd rather see pig Ganon like http://i.imgur.com/DaVBJEX.png instead of the WW version.

Rosalina is definitely a villain. The way she sends that poor Luma to its doom .

In all seriousness that's a good point. Hades and Ghirarhim (I can never spell his name right) are the only ones that have a good chance. Smash 64 didn't have any villains either though did it?

Ludicolo in Smash would actually be neat. Make it happen Sakurai/GameFreak. I'll also accept Miror B's battle theme from Colosseum.

They deemed her the strongest character in that specific build based on their own internal testing, but nobody who tried the demo on the show floor or at Best Buy seemed to agree.

Presumably because they have a different set of metrics for character balance, but...

I assumed he was referring the former just because it'd be silly to bring it up when you're showing off a specific demo, but it'd at least make sense that way. I'll have to go check that at some point.

1. Things can change before the release build.
2. The characters are balanced for 2-4 player item matches, so she may still suck without items.
3. Devs don't always have a good handle on balance.

She seemed much better in the demo, but again, things can change between the demo and the final release. Nobody seemed to think she was "way OP" though.

A Dark Pit stage boss wouldn't make any sense. Palutena's Temple's "gimmick" is that it's absolutely huge, and I don't see how a boss could be implemented there. Not to mention Dark Pit doesn't really have anything to do with Palutena's Temple.

The same is true for New Pork City, yet it had the closest thing to a boss character that we had seen. Having the room to avoid the stage boss seems fine to me.

Though it is hard to imagine a character that looks like a fighter acting as a stage boss. Too small.

The Ultimate Chimera just sort of popped out -- I wouldn't call it a "boss." I'd have to assume Dark Pit would be flying around, and he'd end up blending in with the rest of the characters. It'd be really awkward and out of place.

Dark Pit probably won't be added as a standalone. Maybe as part of Pit. Mewtwo could be back too.
