Nintendo Downloads - July 2014

Should have been spread out

Can't all get attention

Also is Internal Invasion one of the few games not to land at the full dollar mark? ONly 4.50

haha, yeah, I prob should have chosen a different date. But back then didn't know of any other games releasing then.

I'm working on a small Wii U game titled "Those Darn Ice Puzzles!" Think about Pokemon or Zelda and you might get the basic idea.

I cross-bought Squids Odyssey just now, worked well. Immediately after purchase on 3DS, the Wii U eshop let me download it for free. On the game details page, it still said 12.99 or what it was, but at the page where you make the final buying decision, it said download for free.

So it was Armillo, Flowerworks HD and Squids Odyssey today for me, yay!

eShop was super slow today.

I played the first one from PS+ or something. It was like anti-fun for me. I played for 10 minutes. Why do people like it?

I like both Toki Tori 1 and 2, they are among the best puzzle (logic) games I played. IMO they have fun mechanics, clever puzzle, and it's very rewarding to complete a puzzle. You won't solve puzzles by chance but have to think it through. Why didn't you enjoy them? What made them anti-fun?

Did not expect Armillo to be this big.

I'd be interested in Flowerworks impressions btw. Could buy it with my Digital Promotion money.

Probably the best day of the year so far for eShop.

Besides the obvious, looking forward to picking up Bike Rider DX2 after work

Awesome! Can we save them on a sd and print them or use them in Photoshop?

Found this on a Kotaku article from when the app was released on Japan

Manga created in Comic Koubou can be saved in a JPEG format to the 3DS SD memory card and can transferred to PC or uploaded to the internet. Although it's being released on the 3DS, the software does not support 3D display. Pages also have a maximum size setting of 896 x 896 pixels, which is obviously far under the preferred size for heavy hitters, but then again, heavy hitters probably already have their own preferred software.

Not printing friendly but it is at least easy to sketch something and finish later or just post wee little comc strips

Yay !

Which reminds me ... no sign of that japanese pokemon f2p streetpass game ? =/

Bombing Bastards looks like a really solid Bomberman game. I'm impressed, and surprised this is the first I'm hearing about it. Will pick it up later for sure.

Looks like the 2 Etrian Odyssey games will be on discount again. Any suggestions on which one to get for the first time EO player?

Can't go wrong with either honestly. EO:U gives you a better idea of the EO experience (in Classic Mode), but that's not to say EO4 isn't worth buying. It totally is.

I haven't played the game, but Nintendo Life was not too impressed:

On paper, Flowerworks is an intriguing 2D action-puzzler spin on the Pikmin aesthetic; the dialogue text even blooms onscreen letter by letter, the same way it does in Pikmin. The Adventure mode features a satisfyingly huge overworld and a soothing electronic soundscape. And for $6 (or $3.50, if you're quick), Flowerworks is a good deal, with a surprisingly lengthy run time that will take you between 15 and 20 hours to complete. But the overworld and soundtrack are merely scrumptious side dishes accompanying an unsatisfying main course; the action-puzzle pollination levels feature clunky controls and not much depth. Aside from adding a second player for double-fertilisation shenanigans, the core game mechanics quickly wear thin. Despite the pleasing coat of HD paint, Flowerworks' last-gen roots are in full display with Follie's Adventure.

Poking around through NoA's website, looks like Bike Rider DX2 will be 3$. Also, when was an English release of Rabi Laby 3 announced? I've heard nothing about that, but it's on their site, with next week as a release date.

Oh I thought the WiiU one in Europe and Japan was 1st party
The Wii U one is, the Wii/Wiiware ones are Konami. This is the latter.

NOA could release the Wii U one here. They bothered with Sing Party and the microphone already, although I don't think the promised dlc ever materialized for that game.

Week finished with new look. Thoughts?

I guess I forgot how dumb the kids on Miiverse are. Some of the studpidest shit gets thrown around in the indie communities.

On any indie game community not made or published by nintendo:

"Nintendo why did you make this stupid kid game i want you to make a new call of duty otherwise the wiiU wont sell"

Like the new look with icons. :)

I look forward to being asked when Minecraft is coming .:P

Did anyone download Guacamelee? I'm wondering how many Club Nintendo points it will net me

I did yesterday and received 149 points today. Great game!

I've only played through the first two levels, but Armillo is fun so far too.

EDIT: sorry, thought you meant digital deluxe points. hasn't shown up in my club nintendo account yet.

Wait, Brother is publishing Karaoke Joysound? The company that made my fax machine?

I glossed over that, thinking it was just another company with the common word "Brother" in its title, but looking around, there doesn't seem to be any "Brother International Corp." other than Brother's US division. This is certainly weird.

Going online for new content with a WiiWare game?

I thought that functionality was dropped when Gamespy dropped out...

Server/matchmaking capabilities were dropped, but the the Wii Shop Channel is still operating. So if they add content as DLC, it could work.

No 3DS Virtual Console games for the US this week? Lame. So many GB/GBC games I still want on VC, but the slow pace of releases is worrying me.

Whos bright idea was it to release a WiiWare game in 2014? Jesus, will they even break the required threshold to even make even a penny on that game?

Ah well. Forgot about the low res. Still would be a fun tool.

My niece and nephews would love it too!

The new Karaoke game for Wiiware seems to use a Season Pass type of model (pay money to access more songs online), so maybe they'll be able to collect some revenue from the handful of people who buy the game, even though they won't come close to hitting the sales threshold.

Not expecting free Brainage at this point, Reggie and NOA are complete cheap skates. Still annoyed that Europe got a wide range of ten games to choose from for the MK 8 promo and the U.S. only got 4. If it weren't for Pikmin the promo would have been useless to me. I would like to have been able to choose something else like Sonic LW or Monster Hunter as Europe. Speaking of PROMOTING MK8, beyond stupid MK SNES still isn't out.

Also, seems to me a dev would have to be either really clueless or out of their minds to release DSi ware and (especially) a Wii Ware title at this point. The people that Karaoke game is targeted to won't even know it exists.

Edit: Brother, the company that made old electronic typewriters in the 80s and fax machines??
