PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Wow, I'm absolutely blown away with all your responses guys! Thank you so much for all the pointers!

I do have gravity rush and a few other ps plus games from the last few months but i've been so consumed with persona 4/spelunky i haven't had a chance to play much of anything else. I'll be sure to post my impressions when I do get to some of those other recommended games.

you should buy soul sacrifice delta

I just watched a YouTube let's play of this... I wasn't familiar with it...

PERFECT!

Edit: just checked on the store - it's fucking free! Cha ching!
The base game is free (worth it for that alone) and they sell two DLC packs that add more minigames at a very reasonable price last I checked.

Also maybe Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack. Like a side scrolling platformer with a Katamari-like gameplay element and retro 60s aesthetic.

In keeping with mechanically simple games this is a recommendation for you and her, but if you're into pinball at all the Pinball Arcade games are great lovingly recreated virtual pinball tables that might be worth checking out.

PSP Remastered for Vita
with trophies, etc

Wait what?

Your original post clearly stated Persona 3, not PSP--Phantasy Star Portable? Now I am confused.

Or you are asking for a remastered version of P3P...?

If so, I am even more confused because people-with-the-right-priority (TM) surely would ask for a P3FES remaster instead.

I've decided to skip the Vita version of Child of Light. Seeing the Vita version and then the PS4 version has made me realise a much bigger difference.

You can really see a pretty big difference when it comes to the image quality and the character model. I'll probably pick up the PS4 Deluxe Edition now...

Who'd have thought a ps4 version of a game would feature improved fidelity when compared to a ps vita one ;)

LOL, well yeah, but I didn't think the difference would be this big. Especially when it comes to the character model.

I never realised until just now how big a difference the Vita version is. I was expecting another Rayman situation....

darn typos lol
I mean P3P remastered... make it like P4G

P3 SAPPHIRE

So any chance of some kind of NA sale tomorrow? You know, 4th of July and that stuff...

Also, have LBP Vita always been this cheap? I thought it was like 30 bucks and now is 19.

the good thing is , the comparisons evolved , i mean before they just compare the Vita to Ps3 wich is not a portable console , but now they compare it to PS4 . seems fair right?

I want a Persona 3 Remaster for the Vita :/

I honestly think we will get one sometime next year or the year after. Considering Persona 5 will likely not land on Vita anytime soon (the game is being built off of the Catherin engine, right? Considering how the Vita isn't as strong as a PS3, who knows if Atlus can port the game over to Vita without much compromises; the fact they had to cut-out a lot of 3D stuff to get Persona 3 on PSP and the fact that upset them implies they don't like sizing-down their games).

I think that next year we will get an announcement for a Vita version of Persona 3 that takes all the content of P3:FES, adds all the extra features Persona 3 Portable had (FM Main Character, her unique Social Links) and the new mechanics/engine from Persona 4 Golden.

And they could also add more stuff too; Native Res for the complete game (would be a step up from P4G, considering only the menus/anime cut-scenes/character art was native res while the rest of the game was only 360p with wide-screen), some changes to the FES story to complement the FM Main Character (some of that story wouldn't make no since if that applied to the FM Main Character), and even some extra story content (maybe a Persona 4 Golden-esc True Story type ending where we see what happens to the SEES team after the events of "The Answer" story.....with some hints to what a sequel to Persona 3 may be like; they set this up in P4:Arena with Elizabeth's story, so some kind of answer to that might be nice :D).

Altus knows there are lots of Persona fans who own Vita's and even though the 3DS is still powerful, I don't know if it can handle a Persona 3 port (though Square got Dragon Quest 7 on it, so who knows :l), so the Vita is the platform that makes the most since.

Sony might want to push for this too; I recall Persona 4 Golden really pushing Vita sales in Japan :D.

As much as people say that a Persona 3 port I'd likely to happen on the Vita, I've lost faith for that a long time ago. Who ported P4G? After P5, what will the Persona team do?

Didn't the Persona team make P4G with some of the people from SMT: Strange Journey? That is what I can gather :l (at least some other people from the SMT series helped make Golden, as
the Marie Dungeon
wasn't made by the Persona team).

I think after Persona 5, they will make a Persona 6; remember how fast Persona 4 came out after Persona 3 (P3 was finished late 06 in Japan but due to some pre-order issues, the US version got delayed into the Summer 07, then Persona 4 came out sometime in 08 with the FES version of Persona 3). They are fast workers from the sounds of things, so they will most likely make Persona 6 come to PS4/PS3 (at that point it should be 2017, as they took 2 years to make P4, so they would have to put the game on some next-gen platform to get some more sales).

As for why many think their will be a Persona 3 Remaster for Vita? Well, it just makes a lot of since. Sony may give two shits about the Vita in America, but the Vita is doing better then the PS4 in Japan, and JRPG's there sell great on Vita (P4G pushed ALOT of Vita's to be sold and a more recent example was how Freedom Wars did quite well in Japan, as did God Eater 2 I think....). Altus would be smart to bring P3 to Vita to take advantage of the series growing popluatary (and the game is old enough to warrant another remaster; FES came out the same year P4 PS2 did while P3P came out in 2008).

Will it come to the US? Well, Altus knows how many love Golden on their Vita's and it did do well here (not to mention they aren't picky with sales; they have very modest expectations for their games sales wise, an example was them making a cake to celebrate Catheren selling I think 50k copies? I'm not sure the exact amount but it wasn't a huge hit, so them celebrating modest sales was very noble of them :D). The Vita may not being doing well in the US (...at all sadly X(), but, that doesn't mean publishers like Altus would just avoid the system; if they think it's worth it, the game will come here (if it is made).

That's just my two since there :).

Thanks for those vids, bro. Definitely too big a difference. It's unfortunate, because I want to support the Vita version, but it would be irrational for me support the far lesser looking/performing version.

PS4 and Vita versions of Rayman Legends look and perform sufficiently similarly.

You reaaaally like the word since, don't you? Hahaha. *just a joke*

Anyways, P3FES getting a P4G treatment would be divine. I always personally favor P3FES way more than P4 in terms of characters/settings/story, so if that game can get gameplay improvement like P4G... it would be heavenly.

It is weird for you to dismiss the portability factor entirely, man.

For me, the Vita version of Child of Light is just perfect, I was blown away by the art and story just the same as if I played the PS4 version, even with a side-by-side comparison. If you want to support the Vita version, go for it. The graphics are nice, but they're not the most impressive things about Child of Light, at least in my opinion.

Opps, guess I miss-typed there XD! I would love for Persona 3 to get a perfect version to come out and after playing though Golden four times in a row, I was surprised how much I feel in love with the story, characters and world of Persona 3 (the game felt more real and...'epic', I think that is a good world to describe the game). For some reason, I felt Persona 3 was larger than Persona 4 (I love that game a lot, don't get me wrong, but that games story felt very self-contained in the larger world; you are only saving Inaba, not the whole world) and the characters are put though WAY worse situations in P3 then in P4 (I really felt bad for a lot of them throughout my first playthough :(...).

I love both games equally, but if Persona 3 was remastered to perfection like how Persona 4 was with Golden.....man, that would be amazing :D.

So? It's a different game. Do you expect all engines to perform equally well across all hardware?

If you want CoL to be portable, buy it on vita... If you'd rather tether yourself to an incredibly expensive ps vita accessory - so be it ;)

Yep.

If the gameplay between the two are equal, P3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> P4 forever in my eyes.

Hell, even as it is I still favor P3 over P4.

As for Child of Light Vita....the game looks fine :l. Sure the PS4 version does look noticeably better....but it is the PS4; of course it is going to look better then the Vita version (keep in mind that Child of Light might have been planed from the start as a next-gen game, while Rayman Legends and Origins were built in mind for PS3/360/Wii/Wii U).

The Vita version does look really nice and the fact you can take it on the go is an even better package (the game is a RPG, so those games having the resume/suspend features are really great time-savers).

No problem :D! I am really happy to be part of this forum, so any way I can help is nice in my book :).

Besides, I know way to much about Video games (I can remember the smallest detail with gaming history but I can't remember things on tests....talk about selective memory XD).

Its great to just talk about video games, so I glad I can do what I love doing :).
