Zivkovic!

But they won't be as good as e.g. Robben. Who dominated from the moment he made his debut at 16yrs old.

I think none of those guys are going to reach the heights of the Kluivert era. Back then our whole squad played for the European top teams. Subs were still strikers of Chelsea and Bayern (ie. Hasselbaink and Makaay).

I really hope that, just this one time, The Netherlands will go on to win the World Cup.

Brazil has won the World Cup five times, Germany three times and Argentine two times. The Netherlands? Zero.

The Dutch have done surprisingly well this World Cup and, honestly, I fear that The Netherlands 4 or 8 years from now, simply won't be as good as they are today. Why? Well, the following players will likely won't be selected 4 / 8 years from now: Van Persie, Robben, Sneijder, Kuyt, De Jong, etc. - and I haven't seen "the next Robben" yet, or something like that.

Oh lawd, why did PSV ever sign him at that time. Much like Kluivert. It's like they have a thing for our former God tier players when they're 30+ and useless :lol
Kluivert no doubt, but van der Meyde god tier? Linius pls. If you meant god tier big spender, sure.

I think that the best final in terms of great plays/goals would be Brazil vs Netherlands but I really want to see what would happen in a Brazil/Argentina final :p

FIFA being the dude in the front.

Whoever comes out of the Netherlands Argentina match is my pick. I want Argentina to take it just a little more though.

Everyone was pulling their hairs when they saw Kuyt in the line up against Mexico, now everyone loves him again. His drive and the power he puts into a match is amazing. If anyone deserves this World cup it's him

Fuck no. Couldn't string a few straightforward passes if he tried. The only reason he's useful is when he's without the ball, since he's willing to run half a marathon if you asked him to. He can win balls, has a good header and can score from corners and free kicks, but he's very limited as a football player.

Germany - Netherlands final and it's going to be great. We have to watch Robben carefully though. He is so dynamic and very explosive, even late in the game. But we have Hummels for him.

There's a rumor in brazilian press that Neymar could play in the final, if Brazil beats Germany. According to this rumor, Neymar's fracture is mild, pain is the most limiting factor and "local analgesic infiltration" (sic erat scriptum) could allow him to play.

Even if this is true (which I doubt, from a medical perspective), I think that any sub - playing at 100% - is better than Neymar playing at 70~80%. Anyway, it's just a rumor at this point.

Is it even possible to be 70% in 7 days?

I'm sure Barcelona would be happy to hear that.

A Germany Netherlands final would be great. I'm rooting for Germany to win it all since the US is out (I've got a lot of German friends from time I spent in Bavaria and my family is German).

It's a real shame about Neymar's injury though. I though Brazil was finally starting to look like a great team in the Colombia game (only saw the first half) and I would have liked to see them at 100% against Germany because that could be an amazing game.

Brazil vs. Germany is going to be an intense match. Rooting for Brazil as I always have been. I enjoy their football and without them world cup loses its charm. I can say that I also enjoy the Dutch play. Robben is a fast, tricky player.

Soo good. This kind of "performance" should be banned after the match. Its ridiculous that stuff like this get a pass, same with the "injuries" that a lot of players have all the time then suddenly get up. Just get them out of the field for 5/10 minutes to recover. If its a real injury, they are gonna be out that time for sure or are getting a sub, if its fake...fuck off for 5 minutes.

Or maybe refs could actually punish foul plays more aggressively, then maybe we'd see a lot less of it.

Matuidi and Zúñiga not getting red cards and being punished for several more matches is far worse for the sport than Robben or Neymar overselling a foul.

DutchGaf, explain me how is possible that Kuyt is now a LB?
I remember he was a CF, what I had miss? this thing is too roftl for me. :D

Basically, Kuyt can play anywhere. Not because he is a defender or something like that, but he fights for the ball and runs after every ball if necessary.

And even if he is officially a left back, you'll see him very often on the midfield or even as an attacker from the left.
