MOBAs are shit like cricket, amatur wrestling and guided nature walks

I put DOTA2 in the "shit games" category full of games I will never play again.

I played it for 34 minutes and I think that was enough.

If I want to spend 100 hours learning something before I start to understand what was going on I would learn how to speak French.

I was a critic of MOBAS until I played a few games and watched a lot. There is so much depth to them once you take a longer look that it's easy to pass them as some fad or odd genre. I won't be playing anytime soon though, I'm worried I'll get sucked in.

You may enjoy a easier to get into MOBA such as Smite, Awesomenauts, or Dawngate. HoTS is also very beginner friendly, but closed alpha.

Unless you have a friend who can help you learn the game, 34 minutes won't really get you anywhere. The best thing to do is have 4 other people who are also new to the game and just play for fun against bots. I did that for maybe 10 hours to get the hang of how it all worked and then gradually did more and more matchmaking.

I was really against the whole "Dota thing" like 2 years ago. I just didn't get it. Looked like a dumb RTS to me. But then I found a group of people who were completely new to the game, figured I would give it a shot and I now have 310 hours in it. Haven't really played that much since last winter, I play Smite now instead. Pretty much the same thing but with direct control of your character and 3rd person view.

does anyone have the gif where brad makes this face? aka the greatest gift ever

They talked about it a bit on the most recent one i believe. Jeff says he's not played it yet, Brad said it was good, i don't recall if Dan or Jason said anything about it.

What if you really like it and then keep your avatar forever?

Based on the few "funny" "best of" clips I've seen, and everyone saying it is everything I would hate the most, I don't think that is possible. It is probably worth a few full episodes to understand what I hate though.

I should probably do the same for DOTA to be honest

People who hate BBT weird me out. Not liking it makes sense, but it is so inoffensive that feeling anything strongly about it is just strange to me.

I don't hate it. I've watched it and didn't find it funny at all. A lot of the people i've talked to who hate it feel that way since it comes across as mocking the geeky/nerdy type of person.

I am probably using "hate" wrongfully there. I dont hate it, and I am not angry it is on air. However, based on all the clips I have seen (probably 30-40 minutes total if I try to add it all up) and other information assimilated over the years, I have no idea why such a show would have a huge following. I don't find anything I have seen (which is supposed to be "best of" material) funny. I really dont hate it, or hate people for enjoying on it. I am more mystified by its population than anything else

To bring it back to something semi-gaming related, it is the same way I feel about PewDiePie's video. However, I sat though about 1 hour + of his horrible stage acts to at least give it a chance, and try to understand.

BBT is no worse than any other major network sitcoms. I kinda hate those shows though. Even hated Friends and Seinfeld.

Dude, what?! That's one of the best sitcoms of all time! Maybe my favourite sitcom, actually, and I'm not looking back at it with nostalgia or anything since I first watched it about 6 years ago.

Friends on the other hand is pretty...meh. As for BBT, I think a lot of the hate that show gets is because it has a certain "look at these nerds, haha!" thing going on. Add that to a lot of nerds probably getting the show recommended to them all of the time, I can see how people can begin to hate it. I think it's a bad show, but not worse than most of the sitcoms on network television. My boyfriend has the worst taste in television, so I've seen my fair share of 2 Broke Girls and similar shows, and BBT is Curb Your Enthusiasm compared to that bullshit.

I watch the occasional sitcom here and there, sure. They're a guilty pleasure, though, only one I would legitimately defend is Seinfeld.

Anyway, let's get some The Nanny hype going WOOO

Just got back from RTX. Towards the end of the show, I stopped by the Iron Galaxy booth and asked Dave Lang if I could play him in a game of Divekick. He said sure. We walk over to the gamestation and he sees that the line is too long and is like "Nah" and then takes me to their booth's back-room thing where they have an Xbone set up, where we proceeded to just hang out and chat for a good half hour while playing Divekick

Based Lang

Hating Seinfeld makes more sense to me than hating BBT. Seinfeld is by far my favorite show of all time, but I can see what it does that would incite passion on both sides.

So cool! Lang seems like a good guy.

BBT is on topic in the CBSi thread.

Most people hate it because people that actually don't really understand the things you like recommend it to you because you remind them of that Sheldon kid.

"Nerd blackface" is a pretty outrageous term I've seen used a lot about that show by folks like us. Over the top to be sure, but it gets the message across for why a lot of people dislike it so much,

I wonder if doctors hated scrubs.

Two doctors I know actually liked the show because it showed the shitty sides of being a doctor (insane hours, the stress etc.) that "hospital dramas" never show.
