AustraliaGAF... Just popped into my local JB HiFi and the new vita 2000s were very prominently displayed next to the PS4s.
To my amazement, the physical games also had a really good piece of shop real estate too.
I've been going to that same shop for years and this is the first time in the last 6 months or so that the vita and its software has been on the shelves.
Annecdotal, but a good sign.
Ps - Child of Light is out on disc too.

since you once played the game you should orbs piled up and if you're PS+ you can grab 35 more free to summon the 5x EU summon (if from US).
Neat. I'll do just that and give them to you later. I have a US account but I'm from Asia so my spirits might be different from what you have.
Can we give the orbs to other players? I think I still have some left since I only used my orbs once for that Knack summon.

Nice. I actually just went into the local EB here to poke around at the specials. The Vita section in there is kind of sad, maybe 90cm wide and there were very few new release titles there. The JB is decent though, they seem to get all the new releases.

Someone said Hot Shots Golf Tournament? I'd be down for that - and I probably know some other people who would be too.
Destiny of Spirits was a decent way to pass time for the first few areas, but then I just hit a wall after clearing six (a Light boss with tons of HP). Is there any way to power up your spirits (without spending real money) besides playing the same damn fights over and over and over to slowly farm resources for merging? It's the opposite of fun, but it's possible I'm missing something.
But that's not a hunt- fuck it, it's a first party title anyway, it's not a random japanese game.
It's hardly going to have mass appeal outside of japan though.
GAFappeal and MASSappeal are very different things.

I am about to give up with this game, the "Familiar Face" trophy is one of the biggests bullshits I have seen in this hobby.

I still stand by my original point - which had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH FREEDOM WARS - that the vita having a strong showing in my local jb hi fi is a good (albeit anecdotal) sign for the device.
I am hoping that is a good sign too.

I was thinking about getting one of those lime green Vita 2000s, but the button swap will probably drive me insane (yes, I know the buttons only affect the UI and a few games).

I thought it would bother me too but it is probably the biggest non-issue ever. To be honest after a day or two pressing circle feels second nature.
Honestly, I thought it would have annoyed the bejesus out of me too but after some initial confusion (Japanese import 1000 since release), I literally never think about the button swap anymore.

They'll let you know a day before it releases.
No date yet for the west.
I just hate the fact that some games have swapped buttons while others don't. I don't care about the color on my Vita that much, to be honest.

I was, the first week. Then Child of Light came out, then I got my Wii U, now I got sidetracked with Earthbound.
Most games adjust the button prompts when they're swapped, so for new games you shouldn't have issues.
As for old games, the only one that I remember giving me trouble is Muramasa - you pick items and open chests (and talk, maybe?) with circle, but the big X will always be there to mess with your head.
