i recommend any of them except for one on the ds (im gonna write my own thoughts on it so it might be a little long)

the gba fire emblems are really great fire emblem(usa title) is challenging as it doesnt offer unlimited exp has some really awesome characters eg. lyn

sacred stones offers the unlimted exp of awakening and uses the map system and has skirmishes plus it has the student units (units who start weak but get really good its kinda similar to donnel in awakening)

the gc/wii games had one of the lords (ike) and had some interesting new classes and weapon types and was the first i think to introduce skills? (i know inate skills existed in previous fire emblems but skills like aether and astra did not)

the ds ones are kinda mixed i didnt play the one that got released here and i heard it wasnt very well liked since it was super similar to the nes one? im not sure as for the sequel which didnt get released here it was a lot better and gave us the job change option similar to awakening where classes could change to other classes

this is just a basic run down of the games in IMOP (sorry for the super derail)
Thanks for all this info! I've been really wanting to play another FE game and was leaning towards the GBA ones. As they're more challenging, that sounds like just what I'm looking for.

I wonder what happens if you use that Up-Smash right by the lip of the stage. Could be a really overpowered edge-guarding tool.

Other move is like Fox's lasers, so its use really depends on how laggy it is.

Today's Update

Called it:
We're gonna get a pic with Palutena today.

Why would we ever do that? There's like 0% chance it's wrong.

Because rumors/leaks are just that. The guy who Sal Romano is getting his info from might be fucking with him, or he might've been wrong, or whatever. The posts were spread apart, and while I believe the first one was legit (the one with Mii, Wii Fit Trainer, etc.), I'll not be convinced the second/third parts are legit until Chorus Men are confirmed.

Taking rumors/leaks to be 100% fact is dumb. If you want to believe in it, that's your call, but don't treat it as a confirmation of anything, and especially don't spread misinformation. Seriously, that should be considered a bannable offense.

Well there is the possibility her up-smash works like Snake in that it only reaches that far when it's fully charged.

There's no guarantee that she will have that range without charging.

Nope! Didn't they call something else up smash? And it looks like Heavenly Light might be default?
GameXplain called the Up Smash correctly, but they may be wrong about the default special since they didn't call Heavenly Light (although Sakurai still hasn't clarified).

... But there's like 0% chance it's wrong. The "Pokemon from XY" thing was explained by Sakurai himself, he got Mii Fighter, along with every reveal at E3. It's barely even a rumor anymore. It's as close to a gospel as you could possibly get.

Wait.. what? 0o I didn't think that was serious!
Yup! Up smash.

So, based on what we've seen in her reveal trailer and now this, what are we thinking he weaknesses might be? She's got to be super light, right?

I remember that Sakurai mentioned somewhere that she's light (I think in one of the past PotD?). That and she seems to be a pretty big target, so that'll make her prone to take easy damage. She might also have trouble landing KOs, since it seems most of her moves that have good knockback are telegraphed.

Shovel Knight would be so sick

why can't he be a Nintendo character :-(

  • Up-B: Propeller Dagger
  • Down-B: Dig up jewels and food.
  • Down-B in air: Shovel drop
  • Side-B: Dust Knuckles
  • Neutral B: Mobile Gear
  • Final Smash: Friends Reunited (
Attacks alongside Black Knight and Shield Knight Kat and Anna style, with the three posing at the end
    )

My body....

And I didn't even read the spoilers because I haven't finished it yet. I have an idea though.....yeeeeaaaahh fuck yeeeeeeaaaah....

That was Rosalina, not Palutena. We barely have any information about Palutena at all.

Not many fast options up close? Large hitbox? Low KO power?

Being super light would be weird.
Agreed, but they did it with Rosalina, so I could see them doing it here again. The low KO power and all range is my guess.

She has limited uses in her powers like in Uprising.
Probably not.
That would be a super interesting mechanic. Would fit with all the newcomers being really unique.

Hmmm, I don't remember him mentioning it, but her telegraphing everything could be another factor. I'm not worried about it too much. I remember everyone freaking out over Little Mac at first, and he seems to be more balanced than people were thinking.

well if her standard walking and run speed is telling she is super slow like her walk is almost snail pace and her run doesnt seem that much faster (it seems she will need the help of light speed/super speed to close in on opponents because i think once she gets enough pressure she seems like she could get super blown up)

I seriously think Palutena is starting to look hella strong. Hoping her default set is good and balanced, in case custom moves are banned in competitive play.

I really hope the Earthbound franchise gets more love in this game than it did in Brawl, but with Lucas seemingly on his way out, it seems unlikely. What I really would like to see is Paula as a newcomer. They could give her all the moves Ness "stole" and redesign Ness so that he actually plays like he did in Earthbound. Give him his slingshot and more yoyo tricks. Incorporate the SMAAAAAAASH hits somehow. PSI Rockin as a final smash. Hell, Jeff has huge potential as a character too with all his gadgets. Even Poo would be very unique.

A man can dream...

Heavenly Light looks like a fun move to use in Stamina mode!

Even though Stamina mode is usually reserved for laser assassination missions done by Fox.

She is pretty slow and big...might be heavy.

Yeah, her super speed move throws another weird element in. She's proving to be a really interesting character! My buddy mains Pit, so I'm hoping she'll turn out cool so we can have a Kid Icarus team. So far, not disappointed.

It would be interesting, but I think it'd be too easy to use up your attacks.

Yeah, I can't imagine we'll get an Earthbound newcomer. And Paula is your first choice?

Ness' new Final Smash should be him calling his Mom and then his dog runs in and kills everyone.

yeah it seems to me that she might be character that relies a lot on spacing (kinda like megaman) but can also be an annoyance on the field as a whole (heavenly light seems like it could be super annoying but i get the feeling that u are locked in place when u use it and has a lot of recovery) i feel like super speed/and light weight are basically are get out of there fast moves which gives her options against characters that keep raining down the attack pressure)

also im guessing her standard specials are going to be
neutral b> heavenly light
side b>lightweight/super speed
down b> reflect
up b>warp

she seems like she will be a really hard character to master
also that up smash looks like it might have a ton of recovery if it whiffs (and looks easy to whiff as well)

Except that it has been wrong before.
He never mentioned Rosalina.
The first post said we'd get 6 newcomers at E3 2013. We got 3. Little Mac later in a Direct and the remaining 2 in this year's E3. People seem to like to ignore this fact, but it is there.
The second post said "Pokemon from X/Y", but that statement is so ambiguous and I don't believe that it was because of Greninja's development history - if he supposedly can pinpoint Chorus Men, why not Greninja?
Also, do we know for sure he said "Mii Fighter", as a single name, with a capitalized F? Because to me, it seems easy to mistake that with "We're gonna get a Mii fighter", since well, all the characters in this game are fighters. What if he was referring to it like "a fighter from a series"?

The remaining characters (Palutena, Chrom, Shulk) are pretty safe guesses, too, so even these characters being confirmed wouldn't mean to me that the rumor is legit.
