PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Ohhhhh GameStop.

Sony really needs to put out a vita slim only sku. I don't want borderlands 2 and I already have a bigger memory card than what they provide. I would consider getting a 2000 for cheaper than 200. Not sure if I would want to sell my 1000 though. A vita tv would also be nice even if only to play p4 golden on a tv. Maybe I should just keep OLED and get a vita tv.

Yeah. As someone that doesn't own a Vita but is planning on getting one at some point this year, I really would just prefer a cheaper unit without BL2 or a Vita with a bigger memory card included at $199. So, seeing GS just add stuff to the BL2 bundle (which isn't ideal for me to begin with) to make it even more money is a bummer.

Levine's talking about crushed dreams on Twitter again:

Thinking about Levine's concept, how expensive would that even be to make? If Wayforward could slap together an apparently pretty decent Transformers SRPG on an Activision licensed game budget, I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have broke the bank.
Must of been a case of differing visions. I purpose that Sony was looking for something AAA and more like a traditional Bioshock, Levine was looking to make a spin-off in a niche genre, and T2 was probably worried about brand dilution/marketing and was probably leery of the whole thing from the get-go.

Personaly, a TBS set in the Bioshock universe would of been awesome.

I'm asking this question purely out of curiosity and fear.

If my PSN account is comprised and lost, what are the chances of me getting back all the stuff I bought digitally?

I'm asking this because my digital collection is starting to outpace my physical, especially on the Vita.

How come?

I can't really devulge without spoiling anything. But personally, I think that the high point of SC was way better than the FC's - except that they're quite two different scenes and I don't expect people to enjoy it as much. SC's low point (aka stuff I want changed) is lower than FC's.

I'm not saying you will, but I think that you're going to enjoy SC if you didn't consider it slow at the beginning~mid-way.

I was planning to make a thread for my 1000th post about one of the things I love about the Kiseki series, but I started Freedom Wars. And haven't finished God Eater 2 Ranks 7~10. And is planning to buy hotL#NiQ. At that rate, I'd have to do a half-year silence or something. LOL

We said the same about Monster Monpiece and Project Diva F didn't we?

Monster Monpiece and Project Diva neither had problem with licenses.

Who're holding the licenses to the stuff included in Super Hero Generation? There's Bandai... and who else?

There's a saying that goes "if an actual* Super Robot Wars is localized, then this world is heaven."

*not the OG ones

There is a lot of talk about how good the vita are for indie games but the only quatity games I can think of that have been exclusive/first on vita is olliolli and TxK. In other cases the Vita feels more like an afterthought and we have to wait a couple of months to a year before we can play it.

Do you think this will change?

Not an indie but have we heard anything more about TWAU, telltale is one of few companies that don't answer my tweets. Another one is nicalis that haven't said a word about EU 1001 spikes. :|

As for licencing issues who's responsible for what may be different between Japan and the West (and between regions also). That could be the cause for a licensed game including multiple manga/tv series entries becoming much harder to localize.
For instance Gundam Musou franchise has some tunes swapped between Japanese and Western versions, even the game contains only multiple "Gundam" series.

Happy birthday fellow Vitamuffin!

UK/DE/FR guys(or other PALland guys), are R&C Trilogy reviews out in your country? Spanish reviewers seem to love it (three 8s) while italian reviews are slamming it (4.8,5,6,6.5)

For what I've tried, I'd say it's a solid 7.5. If we want to be harsh, 7.
5? top lel

Mutant Blobs was a launch exclusive for awhile too, then Velocity Ultra. Stuff like Guacamelee and Retro City Rampage were at least same day release with PS3 and 1001 Spikes same day with Steam, but those are exceptions rather than the rule.

A few months on Hotline Miami was nbd imo, and the whole purpose of the system for me is just to have as many game that I like portable and on one handy system, so getting an old game like Limbo was still a get for me. Terraria took what seemed like forever and Rogue Legacy is too, but I'm ok with the ETA for most titles we got and what's not too far off. Except Stalth Inc 2, those guys can get stuffed if Vita is dead before it can ever come to something besides WiiU.

Wait will def be the norm. I always wait to play all the cheap stuff I get on Steam if a Vita version is on it's way.

Persona 2, P3P and Trails in the Sky (also, bundles) finally have the Plus discount, at least in the Spanish PSN.

Serves me right for not waiting and buying those exact three games on Saturday. I could have saved like €3.5! No, seriously. The way SCEE has handled this sale is pathetic. Shinobido is still not up, right?

I won't lose any sleep over €3.5, honestly. I will try to get a refund on Final Fantasy IX, though: it only comes in Spanish. I can deal with the 50Hz shit, but not with a crappy translation that I did not request in the first place. Give me the option of choosing the language I want
or give me death
. I hope SCEE is kind enough to give me the game in English, or at least a refund...

... I'm not counting on either, really.

Oh, so you are the user of that thread on EOL. :P

Yeah, I have been thinking about buying a slim as a backup/alternate to my main OLED, but given that I got that for about $180 with the Walking Dead bundle, there is no way I am throwing down over $200.

Wait, there's an end to it? My gf usually played for over an hour, stopping because the battery ran out or because she failed on purpose once she got bored, so I just assumed it was endless.
Or maybe she finished it more than once and I never noticed. All I know is that she kicked me off the local leaderbords.
Once you beat the 20 skins of Voyage, it loops back to the beginning. I beat Voyage mode.

Oh, how could I forget mutant blob and velocity, briliant games.

I was thinking that now that both gamemaker and unity have vita exporters and if Child of light is an indication that ubiart is pretty scalable we might starting to get our ports faster?

Anyone having trouble accessing Account Management on PS3? Anytime I try it I get signed out and message telling me the email or password is wrong shows up. Can't sign into the store via PC either.

Well it was nicer when we got Rayman Legends the same day as every other platform... but that was a primarily retail release and came with that hugely controversial delay. Child of Light didn't take long at all, though. We'll probably get Valiant Hearts if CoL did any numbers at all this month, and if VH is doing the usual Ubiart numbers on other platforms.

I have an optimistic feeling that Binding of Isaac Rebirth will be day 1 on everything.

It's on the Bulgarian store too. And I'm *this* close to double dip on P3P and that would be 4 dip on a Persona 3 game :D :D shit...

are we even having a sale this week?

I mean... Maybe? Who's to know? We haven't REALLY had one the past couple of weeks either...

And yeah, no. They stopped posting those PS+ previews for the week, so we won't know until stuff starts going on sale sometime around Grace Chen Time.

Front Mission 3 is supposedly around 2,99 euros on the Store, even the description says it is discounted from 5,99 however if you try to buy it it doesn't have any discount. Why do they manage the Store like that? :/

I guess it's not that they don't want it, just that they can't because it's an Activision IP. It probably hurts them as much (or even more) as it does to us.

Activision IP or not, IMO it's a dick move to tell people they're not allowed to enter your contest with a character you created. That'd be like Disney saying "Here's an art contest for a free trip to Disney World, but don't draw Mickey."

Shinobido 2 finally reappeared on the EU store and this game is actually pretty cool. It's like Tenchu with mission structure designed well for a handheld; some missions are really short and might only take a couple of minutes. Best of all, there's almost no loading if you hit restart.

The AI is completely dumb, though, and the camera is super wonky.
