PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

I see that The Droppings did not disappoint... Again. :P

Still waiting on The Pinball Arcade to get some more DLC.

Got my 2nd extreme perfect today. In a year that didn't include Danganronpa and Dark Souls 2 this would be my GOTY.

Should I get Kung Fu Rabbit?

It uses cheap death mechanics to give it a "challenge". If you're okay with that then by all means.

That game's got iOS production values, but what's cheap about it's death mechanics? The levels are short. You get hit or fall off/into something you die.

The localization in the second Muramasa Rebirth DLC is awful. Aksys must've localized the base game and outsourced the localization for the DLC.

You know what... I'm actually a little astounded by SCEA's sales this week considering the Xbox sale going on (going to be going on?). You'd think they'd want to compete with them and take some disposable incomes.

Nothing is wrong with the game, there just isn't an active community for the game anymore so finding games is nigh impossible unless you have friends to organize with.

I see, thx, was hoping the error was simply because there isn't an active community

Funny thing is, awhile after I posted I actually joined a game of Shadow over Mystara already in progress. -The first time I got to play some Capcom D&D online.

For what was originally a Capcom CPS2 game, SoM sure has a lot of stuff happening on the screen at one time. Especially with 3 or 4 players. I've played both games in MAME before but only 1 player.
It is no wonder D&D Collection on Saturn was limited to 2 players in both games, even with a 4 MB RAM cartridge required to play SoM (from what I've read).

I completely understand the reasons why but it's a shame the Xbox Live, PSN, Steam/PC and Wii U communities for Chronicles of Mystara are walled off from each other.

has anyone picked up Another World yet? curious how it runs on vita

Another World runs beautifully on my Vita. You can seamlessly switch between updated graphics and those of yore with no slowdown. It's just as wonderful a game as I remember it being. I've loved this game since I first played it over two decades ago. One of those perfect mixtures of exploration, timing, trial and error with a story that transcends words.

Of course, if the Vita couldn't run a 23 year old game that my 386 could flawlessly, I'd be worried...

Still not Ratchet collection? SCEA please

Well since there's no R&C this week, what should I buy between BBCP and Soul Sacrifice Delta? I have BBCP on PS3 but I'm rarely home to play it and I love my BB and fighters. On the other hand, SSD is cheaper and I absolutely loved vanilla. Tough choice yo

Just want to share how much I liked the Quiet, Please! series (Quiet, Please!, Quiet Christmas, and Vacation Vexation). All at affordable prices at the PS Mobile store.

They're all short (Vacation Vexation probably being the longest for at least around 20-30 minutes) but they're quirky and fun and reminiscent of the early 90s PC adventure games.

It's what dinosaurs like me used to be forced to use in college computer labs. I can't even remember if they ran Windows 1 at this point.

386 aren't that old, they could run Windows 3.1. They were also 32-bit capable and all, you could run 32-bit Protected Mode games such as Doom on them (at a horrible framerate).

5 new PS Mobile games came out today. All of them are not playable on Android devices.

Maybe it's time to rename "PlayStation Mobile" since new games don't support mobile devices anymore?

Another thing: the NA store forget to revert some of the past sale prices from the Sports Sale to their regular prices:

PS3 Games:
FIFA 14 $41.99
Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 $19.99
Sports Champions $4.99
Sports Champions 2 $4.99

PSP Games:
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee $3.99
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 $7.49
Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip $7.49
Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 $13.49 (not playable on Vita)

They have been at those prices for weeks now.

Get SSD.

Wait for Extend version on BBCP.

Uh, no. BBCP just came out.

If you constantly worry about the current edition of a fighting game becoming obsolete, then you might as well never buy any fighting games ever, because they're ALWAYS going to become obsolete at some point.

Sports Champions 1+2 were $2.50 a few weeks back, that might be their regular price. As for PlayStation Mobile, SDK 2.0 doesn't support PlayStation Certified Devices, however SDK 1.2 is still supported and does.

No Top Spin games for Vita is really killing me :/

I just can't take Virtua Tennis series seriously due to its joking/unrealistic take on the whole tennis thing.

Also additionally, this thread http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=851761 makes me check out the Criminal Girl game. To may understanding it is a game that will be released *officially* in the west for Vita? Rather unbelievable to see, actually.

I had Quiet, Please!, but got stuck and gave up but it did remind me of the early days of PC games. I still stay the best PSMobile game is life of pixel. Did you try it?

Get Hot shots tennis.

some P4G questions
- is Ice Break or any of the Elemental Break useful
- is 100% the maximum you can boost a skill? can you do 25%+50%+50% accessory?

Windows 3.1, yep, that was it.

When we got computers with Windows '95 right before I graduated, it was like a revelation

Top Spin's realistic take on tennis is the one that I favor most. You can't play as/against Federer and co. with Hot Shot series :/

Just get Fire Break for Yukiko for the secret optional bonus dungeon since Break skills are only really useful there, in general, and she has the highest magic of all characters to make it worthwhile.

You can boost more than 100% for those fire/ice/wind/lightning attacks, I believe.

Anyone have an idea why I wouldn't be able to charge my Vita from my laptop anymore? I know it has to be turned off, and it is, but it's not picking it up even though it does detect it for CMA.

Spilled a tiny bit of water on my AC adapter and have had it in rice for the day, so I just ordered a new one, 'cause it doesn't seem to want to come back to life.

Luckily I've got that official external battery pack I bought and charged years ago... but still, I used to be able to plug into my laptop USB to charge... wtf

Don't you have to enable USB charging on your Vita settings?

Yes, apparently I do. I don't think I ever turned this off, or had to turn it on, but I haven't tried to charge via USB since around the system launch.

*facepalm*

Wow, the second Muramasa Rebirth DLC is very, very short, compared to the first DLC. Let's hope the third and fourth DLC aren't that short.

Picked up Another World... yeah, I still love this game, and it's still a bitch, but so much easier for me now than when I was trying to play it on SNES as a kid.

I would kill for Heart of Darkness in the PSOne Classics section, though.

Anything positive to say about Stella Deus: the Gate of Eternity?

I think it's a pretty good game. I'd give it a 7.5/10. The art is really good, done by the artist who did Persona 3; you can really tell when comparing. The gameplay is not revolutionary but it's a good SRPG. Not too difficult and don't have to grind, but there's an optional place to go if you are inclined. I will say that if you are a completionist, you'll probably be irked at the fact that some extra characters will require you to look at a guide in order to obtain them in the first run. But other than that, if ya like SRPGs and nice art, for $4, can't go wrong!
