The characters themselves being asexual means nothing to the people getting off on the designs.Really, though, its not just an Anime thing. Its a gaming thing both east and west. Big boobs sell. I just thought it was funny.
Well, the weird thing is that as a show that's been on the air for like 15 years or whatever, it's not even clear who the audience for this thing is supposed to be.
You'd think it'd still be for kids, and they're in it for the stretchy arm punches more than for the boobs. But I guess if you grew up on the show and you're in your thirties, it's still possible that you'd still be following this thing... But it makes it even WEIRDER because you've basically grown up with characters like Nami since they were kids just like you. At that point, it's like the weirdness with Hermione and the Harry Potter fanbase. lol

I was hoping this video was going to be where they deleted an entire extremely important story arc because it involved a whale getting punched and shot with a cannon. So they replaced the whale with a static image of an iceberg and then moved on immediately.
When it came time to explain how a character obtained a certain incredibly essential item in said deleted story arc, they explained that the character had had it in their pocket the whole time but forgot about it until just then.

People have speculated for years about what would have happened if 4kids had held onto the license long enough to reach the later story arcs where the stuff they deleted or skipped would have ended up becoming vitally important.
Also, the attempts at removing violence were hilariously hamfisted and at times completely backfired by coming off as even worse than just death:
-A hostage grabbing a weapon and threatening to commit suicide to ruin her captors' plan is sanitized as her grabbing a weapon and apparently it's got magical powers that she can't control so it's just coincidentally getting near her throat
-A main character's backstory and motivation involving a promise to a childhood friend who died in a sudden freak accident = "she got beat up by bullies so bad that she can't train with swords anymore"
-A silhouetted flashback scene of a main character's adoptive mother being shot to protect her child = bad guy pointing at her with his finger and saying "I'M SENDING YOU TO A DUNGEON" (where apparently she either died in solitude or was completely forgotten, I guess)
